Where to begin?

Postby Pyronychus » Thu Jun 21, 2007 12:53 am

I'm kinda (well very) new to this site. I originally joined because I was interested in the Isla Sorna RPG, but I've never RP'd before and have no idea where to begin. If someone could kinda give me a couple pointers to help me get started, it would be much appreciated. I just started getting into forums this year (and belong to 1 other, which I joined about a month ago) and have very little experience with them. Any comments, even of rather obvious things would be helpful to me.

Thanks.

Number 1: Read the rules of an RPG CAREFULLY!
Number 2: If you think you need help, ask one of the veteran RPers!
Number 3: Get involved! Talk in the Off Topic Section, post often in the RPGs.

All I have to say is, thank god your not a spam bot!

We've been having a problem with them lately, so when I see a new member online, I'm very cousious.

Feel free to enter your ISS profile in the Isla Sorna Stories Profile topic, and post in the RPG itself

Just read the rules, please.

I believe it is. Kp said he was looking into protection.

Pyronychus, KP is short for The Kingpin, our webmaster who created the site. You'll hear from him shortly

no, it isn't, unfortunately. one thing a friend of mine once said is: anything you can see on your PC screen, can be hacked. but, as TT [Tyrannosaurus Titanus] said, i AM looking into protection now. anytime im on my PC and the site isn't running at top speed [like it is now], im checking my webhost's list of programs to see if i can find any protection programs...

Just remember KP, TT, and Cpt. Yuke, since they're the three major admins.

Is erc eternal rocker chick? (sorry if thats obvious) I think I've seen JPOG dino skins made by (her?)

Also about the Isla Sorna RPG, I've read about 30 pages ,I think, but it will take a long long time to read all 160-some pages.

Edit: Do I need to read all the pages before posting?

You really just need to read recent events, since the earlier stuff may not be important to a new arrival.

Ya, you don't need to read all the pages. Just read them, if you want, on your own time. Just read recent events, as Dinoman said.
