as the field mouse scurried past, Nightbane caught it by the tail, plucking it up and looking at it as it wriggled, trying to get free. "Life's not fair, is it? either a wolf drives you into a rock, or you get plucked up by a lion with teeth bigger than you are...I might not see my family again....and you...well, you won't be seeing ANYTHING again....apart from, perhaps, the insides of a lion....if you live long enough" he growled to the wriggling creature, before dropping it in his mouth, a faint crunch heard as he crushed it effortlessly, swallowing it and licking the blood off his teeth. "I guess not" he added with a wicked smirk...

Lusa squeaked in surprise at the lion's sudden movement. She shivered at the sound of bones crunching a little way away from her head. She flattened her ears against her head, scared for her life for a moment.

Nightbane chuckled at the pup's muffled voice. now he knew how his father felt back when he was a cub. his father used to bury him in his mane and Nightbane would then try to climb out, usually winding up on the large male's head. he smiled at the memory...

Lusa began moving around, poking with her muzzle, trying to find a way out. She squeaked in surprise as she found something quite solid blocking her way, and gave it a poke to see if it would move.

Lusa turned and poked around with her muzzle some more, feeling like she was swimming through fur. She poked upwards, pleased when the fur gave way to reveal a spot of sunlight. She stuck her nose into it, starting to wriggle her way free. "Freedom," she squeaked.

Nightbane rolled onto his back with his paw wrapped around the general area Lusa was, so that she was now sitting in the forest of fur that was Nightbane's mane...

Azure eye was now close to the head of his kill, much of the flesh on the belly area was gone and though some of the many ribs still remained, many others had been broken as a result of the tiger biting down and breaking them when ripping away flesh.

As Night lifted her head to yawn, she caught sight of the pup and the lion, and had to do a double-take. Was Lusa's head poking out of the lion's chest, or just his mane? The adult shook her head, slightly confused, before she stretched out more comfortably.
"Your dad kept you pinned like that?" Lusa asked, amused at the thought of a little version of Nightbane's head sticking out of a bigger lion's mane.

Nightbane nodded. "Back then, i was little larger than you are. it was like trying to find my way through a forest of fur. but i used to climb up his mane and sit on his head....sometimes i put my paws over his eyes just to annoy him" he growled with a chuckle, memories of his childhood coming back to him...
