Arqueek was about to say something complimentary, but something in the sky caught his eye. Whatever it was, it wasn't something made by the Brutes. A small ship was flying over the battlefield, dangerously close to the Tenebrous. This was confirmed when their was a small pinpoint of red light along the Carrier's hull, and a point defense laser hit the ship in the back, apparently destroying the engines, because the ship immediately angled downward, disappearing amongst the rocks. "Think we should check that out? It's near the Carrier anyway," suggested Arqueek.

Serephir nodded, signalling for the Mechs to follow, along with the crew. he began leaping from rock to rock, holding the position and sniping potential risks as the rest of the group caught up...

Arqueek soon spotted a thin trail of smoke up ahead. "Alright, let's check it out. That must be where the ship came down.

Elch clambered out of the wrecked dropship, shield depleted, just barely saving him from the impact, along with his weapons. The Ultras, whose shields were easily twice as tough, were fine, though a little dazed. Elch looked around while his squad got their bearing. He spotted a couple of tall tripods up ahead, which he hadn't seen before. And they were moving straight toward his position. "Sangheili, get ready! Whatever that is it isn't Brute technology, but that doesn't mean it's friendly!" The group all whipped out their weapons, aiming towards the incoming tripods. A fruitless gesture, they knew, but at least they would die with honor, not in a crashed ship...

As the beings aboard the craft came into view, Serephir used a speaker built into his gauntlet to request identification and purpose for being there. with Tripods and mechs supporting him it wasn't much to ask for identification...using Galactic Standard as the chosen language should've been enough...

Elch's eyes widened when he heard the voice. It sounded distinctly human. He immediately replied, "This is Ship Master Elch 'Masal and his squad. We are here to deal with the Flood, humans."

"The Flood? you mean the Parasites invading this facility?" called Serephir as he continued, raising an arm to have the Tripods lower their arms so that the target wasn't on the newcomers...

Two large cannons rose out of the Starlights horizontal hull, their barrels extending to their full length.....

The green laser fired again, this time aimed at the broad side of the ship in a much more powerful consintrated shot, the devestating weapon draining the shield easily. Puffs of fire and smoke lurched out of the Starlight's pulveriser plasma cannons, two orange orbs spiralling through space towards the Exeucutioner. The first hammered into the ships hull, drilling nearly 30 meters into it before explodeing, a huge firey pulsewave tearing through the surface of the ships hull. The second shot smashing right into the crator of the first, drilling deep into the hull before detonateing, once again eatting into the hull. A flow of flaming rubble cascaded out of the gargantuan hole, disintergrating as it spread out... The shots had been close to peircing the armour, only meters away from the interior of the ship...

Meanwhile, 4 missiles slid out of the starlight, attaching to the launchers connected to its side... long, black and dull, as if they soaked up shadows....

A radio message reached the Executioner from the Koultain battleship "This is the S.A. Starlight, contacting fleet manager of Vardian armed forces in the area. Imeidiate response is required, lest we proceed to straight to immeidiate annihilation."

The massive 501st Armada was now reinforced with newer Star Dreadnoughts. They were much deadlier and more powerful then normal Star Destroyers. A massive heavy weight battle was certain and casualties would be hign on all sides. Grevious would eventually overwhelemed or at least heavily weakned in this battle. It would also be a good test to see how the battle would fare..

The probes have confirmed heavy battle but only a fraction of the massive 501st Armada would be used. However the gigantic 30 mile long flagship..the Annihilator would be armed for combat. With several of the solar generators being used...the flagship would fire much faster and have much more greater firepower. It shields would be much stronger and be able to take massive ammounts of damage. The Super Lasers Weapon Systems was also being modfied for deadlier damage and faster firing rate.

At any moment..the Imperials would appear and then attack..

"Of course!" chimed a conversational voice above the Elites, as Bias floated down. "This is 666 Mendicant Bias," said Elch. "That I am. My purpose is to contain, study, and if necessary, neutralize the Flood."

"This is Admiral Riyalai of the H.V.M.S. Executioner and head of Vardian forces. Identify the cause of hostility lest WE proceed to the absolute annihilation of your ship and any others in the area. any attempted attack WILL be responded to with lethal effect. name your purpose for hostility on an ALLIED faction" said the Admiral as the more lethal weapons of the Vardian Flagship prepared to fire, the PSC and IGTMNs prepared while the rest of the fleet tok care of the remaining attacking ships in the area. the emergancy shielding went into effect, various shifting slabs from the surface of the Executioner moving the cover the hole. it appeared the Vardian Shipyards needed to come up with a swift solution for the vulnerability of the shields. the Admiral recognised the voice as Koult, and made a note to report to Vardian High Command about this outrage, should things deteriorate further...

Serephir nodded. "Then our purpose is the same, Bias" he responded. "Shall i assume the random gigantic brutes that are appearing all over the place are your enemies as well?" he said as a deafening boom was heard as the pulse particle gun on one of the Tripods went off, obliterating a large Brute in golden armour instantly as it charged for Serephir's group from the side...

After muttering something about "in-elegancy of the meddlers," Bias said, "Quite so. But the Flood is the top priority." Elch shook his head. "We can't go anywhere further without getting rid of that Carrier. It knows we're here, and has probably sent a lot of reinforcements to deal with us. And, of course, they won't hesitate to vaporize us if necessary." As if to prove his point, the swiveling Energy Projector turret underneath the Tenebrous' bow suddenly fired, straight art the tripod from earlier. The beam was kept constant, boring through the tripod's shield, then the machine itself, slicing it in two.

the other Tripods and mechs directed their PSCs at the turret, opening fire together, vaporising it on impact. "That shouldn't be a problem" said Serephir. "Bring in the Gunships" he said into the com in his Wrist Computer. immediately, a squadron of 7 Hayachi Gunships flew in over the base, the tri-rotor, flat craft hovering in, unleashing a bombardment of missiles at anything that moved apart from Serephir and the freindly group, erasing massive numbers of Brutes before going around, doing a pass and going back, their shielding deflecting most weaponry before it could hit the craft itself...

The Carrier, its thick hull damaged, but not compromised, fired back at the ships with everything it had at its disposal. Plasma Turrets and Torpedoes, fired with near-perfect accuracy, slammed into the gunships over and over, knocking them out of the sky as they overloaded their shields and sent them careening out of the sky, hulls melting away like tissue paper. A second Energy Projector turret fired at the tripods and mechs, slicing along the ground, ripping up a huge rift in the dirt, cutting down mechs in seconds and stopping at the tripods for just long enough to bore through their shields and rip through the walkers. The turret's charge died down, and the ship's shields went back up, several tripods and dozens of mechs wrecked.

Elch growled angrily, "Damned Jiralhanae animals... Look, human, I've got a better idea. Slightly riskier, but something their Chieftain won't see coming." He unstrapped a meter long cylinder from the back of his waist. It was purple, like most equipment used by the former Covenant species, and was slightly flattened on the top and bottom. The bottom had several spikes poking out of it, and the top had a slightly raised panel at one end, which had the holographic image of a blue dot flanked by four triangles. "This bomb can only be set by a Sangheili, and the timer is set to just long enough to float up the ship's grav lift and into its hangar. The resulting explosion will vaporized the ship, kill thee Brute leadership, most likely, and send the rest into retreat. All we need to do is get past the army that is no doubt waiting for us just below it. I saw a LOT of Jiralhanae and Kig-Yar, along with a Scarab walker."

"Leave them to us" said Serephir as he sheathed both blades and reached for his back, drawing a massive, 7 foot long black and red sword, a jagged red stripe going along the blunt upper half of his blade, the edged end of the blade shining a frightening shade of red, the metal it was made of seeming unnatural. Blaze's eyes came out on stalks as he saw the Dynasty Destroyer drawn. the blade that had crushed an Empire...the very weapon folk stories had been made about...for Serephir to draw that here...the battle had already been decided...

Elch arched a brow. "Are you sure that..." he was interrupted by a message over his COM. "Attention, this is Ship Master Rtas 'Vadum of the Carrier Shadow of Intent. Can anyone read me?" Elch swiftly replied. "This is Ship Master Elch 'Masal. What's your status?" Rtas replied, obviously relieved, "Fine, brother. I was worried we were the only ones left. What's going on down there? We're picking up a lot of energy spikes." "There's a massive war going on, involving the Jiralhanae and the Flood. We need help now." "Of course, Ship Master."

Out of Slipspace, in the atmosphere of the planet, another Assault Carrier emerged, this one smooth and sleek, unlike the ones of the Jiralhanae. Several pinpricks of light flashed along its hull, followed by clouds of Phantoms emerging from its hangar bay, which spread out across the base. From the pinpricks of light came about half a dozen coffin-like pods, heading straight towards Elch's position. As they hit the ground around them with loud thumps, the front half of each popped off, revealing a squad of Spec Ops Elites, dressed in sealed Assault Harnesses. One, in pitch-black armor identical to most Elites, walked up to Elch, giving the group a good look around...

"I take it you're prepared?" asked Serephir, as the booming of the marching Tripods could be heard nearby. another 5 had come forth, Serephir making sure they registered the Spec Ops as friendly, the 5 massive machines heading off in one direction, gatling guns and pulse particle cannons tearing through the enemy Carrier's shields, taking massive chunks out of the ship's hull itself as they marched to ones side, their shields on full power, their guns operating to take out any attempts for counter attack before they could cause damage...

Suddenly, a pair of Energy Projector beams fired, this time from space. The beams, extending all the way from two Battlecruisers floating in space, cut through he Vardian forces, but the slightly weaker power prevented them from doing much other than disintegrating shields. The Shadow of Intent fired back into space with Plasma Torpedoes, keeping the cruisers from taking another shot and coaxing them into focusing on Grievous' forces. "I will keep the Jiralhanae at bay," said Rtas, through the external speakers of Elch's helmet. "You deal with their leader." The Tenebrous fired again, taking out a couple of mechs with a Plasma Torpedo. "Alright," said Elch hastily. "Let's get to the ship."

Grievous, meanwhile, was heading towards the Carrier from a different direction, flanked by his bodyguards and OOM-6, before a pair of Tank Forms dropped in front of them. They all activated their weapons, but were interrupted by a deep, gravelly voice coming from both Tanks at once. "Do not shoot, but listen! Let us lead you safely to OUR foe. Only you can halt has set in motion." "And what might that be?" growled Grievous angrily. "The leader plans to destroy this planet." "How can you be sure?" "We absorb all knowledge of our food. We know what they know." After a long pause, even watching as infection Forms scuttled between his legs towards the ship, he finally nodded. "Fine..."

Serephir nodded. he looked towards the Carrier, signalled for the crew to follow, while the mechs, Tripods and Gunships drew the enemy fire away, continuing their assault, though hindered a bit by the damage the enemy guns were doing to them. Serephir made a mental note to ask for some support from allied factions in weapons and defense designs, hopefully to advance the surprisingly mediocre armour of the ships. he had recieved info that the armour of the Executioner was close to being breached, and that the shifting external armour had to move in place to protect the hole as the Executioner changed position, rotating so it's more damaged side was facing Trandosha, hopefully away from the risk of enemy attack. an earpiece attached to the strap of the eyepatch informed him of all communications between the Admiral and others, and it appeared whoever was attacking them was attempting to communicate with them. aving taken the sound as apparently Koult, he made a mental note to look into Foreign Affairs to find out what the devil was going on...but for now...he had an army to take care of...he hoped the crew and the Elites wouldn't be seriously harmed by the events...

The Shadow of Intent's army was bust fighting off the Brute and jackal forces, mostly around the Carrier. They avoided the Flood-infested areas, letting the TGDA fight them off. As the crew grew closer, the army guarding the Tenebrous was suddenly attacked by a massive swarm of Flood forms, crashing into the unopposed flank of the Brutes like a tidal wave. Oddly enough, they didn't attack the TGDA, Vardian, or Elite forces present at the battle. The Scarab, however, was putting up a fight, using its powerful energy beam to drill through ranks of soldiers like a scythe through wheat. Nerus was also present on the ground, smashing away foes to every side with his gargantuan Gravity Hammer, flanked by four Bodyguards and a Pair of War Chieftains. Elch spotted the Chieftain in the distance, and narrowed his eyes. "Nerus is mine. Spec Ops Officer!" The black-armored Elite, who just finished stabbing a Brute through the chest with his Energy Sword, turned to Elch. "Get this bomb to the Carrier and activate, then throw it up the Grav Lift." He handed the Spec Ops Officer the small bomb, who nodded wordlessly and, Energy Sword still in hand, charged forward with a war cry, as did his Spec Ops soldiers, who charged behind him. They did their best to cut a swath through the melee, cutting down any Brute or Jackal in their way...

Serephir saw the Scarab walker and looked at the crew. "Blaze, you and Xander take care of the attackers. Alex, keep Jarmun and Jarad safe. they're not trained for this sort of stuff". the three VAMCEB soldiers nodded as Serephir himself dashed forward, a line of bodies dropping along his path sa he bolted for the Scarab, his speed daunting, his sword cleaving through enemies unhindered, not even budging on impact with a target, simply cutting through them...
