"A contact that approached me during my last hunt. It isn't uncommon for vampires to lead me into traps, usually ends in their own demise. Either this man has it out for me, or you. Or both." Van said, shrugging. He looked at the vampire that had just made the comment, wanting to shoot a shell into his stomach to prove that statement wrong, but resisted. Despite Drake's colorful history, he still admired the man for his efforts, having a more simple goal in mind for himself; the complete elimination of vampires in general....

"That's what i'm worried about. you see, after i decided to help these guys eliminate their enslaver, he began getting careful himself. he's escaped my first attempt, but now i tend to think he might be trying to distract me. for all i know the guy who sent you here might've been working for him" said Drake...

"I'd go for both, if we're talking about the man I think you're talking about," Thanatos said and swung himself into the hallway, landing gracefully next to Diana.

"Quite possible...Seems we have a common enemy. Though a vampire is a vampire, to me at least." Van said, shrugging. He was annoyed that this vampire in question had used him to try and get either of them killed. Usually they just made simple-minded traps, nothing this complex...

"be careful of this particular one, however. if he hears that you were redirected and know of him, assuming he is actually the one behind this, you may well end up looking over your shoulder for a while. As for Vampires, hey, it's a free world. Think what you like about them. as long as the ones you see here remain off your list, i don't care. if by chance you DO end up targetting them, however....i can guarantee that i won't hesitate to correct that mistake" said Drake simply...

"My respect for you and your efforts is enough to spare these ones...But I do not have any mercy towards them, if you suddenly abandon them. I won't hesitate to kill them." Van said, glancing back at the balcony. "Unless one of you would like to offer me a drink, I think its time I departed..." he said, glancing around. After a few moments, he continued, "I'm serious about the drink part..."

Drake looked at the others, before shrugging. "Whiskey or wine? or are you the kind who goes for plain old water?"...

"Wine will be fine, thanks." Van said, strapping the shotgun to his back once more. Why not have a drink while he was here? It would make the journey not completely pointless. He was ever alert, still not trusting really anyone there, but tried his best not to make this fact so obvious...

"About that 'I won't hesitate thing," Diana said stepping forward. "I just want you to know exactly who you're dealing with, if you won't hesitate to kill us, we won't hesitate to rip you limb from limb and mount them over our mantle." She was eye to eye with Van, until Thanatos wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her away, clapping a hand over her mouth. "You'll have to excuse her, she's been tense as of late," Thanatos said with a nervous smile. Diana tried to say something, but it was muffled by his hand. "None of that," he whispered before letting her go. Diana glared at him and stalked down the hallway and down the stairs to check on Raksha...

"Well wasn't that just...pleasant...." Van said, chuckling slightly. "By the way, I didn't hurt your...pet downstairs...Just knocked him out, no pain involved...Can't help but have a soft spot for animals..." Van Helsing said to the people still in front of him, shrugging.

Drake came back, a moderately sized glass of wine in one hand, another larger, slightly darker one in the other. he handed the lighter, slightly more clear one to Van, before taking a sip of his own. "Little hint. before going into a place, cross reference it to find out any unknown facts about it you can. screw ups in our line of work can be....costly. on several occasions, in my first hunts, the only thing that kept me was, ironically enough, the numerous supernatural abilities i've gained over the years" said Drake. taking a sip of his drink, he continued "Also, as much as you hate them, sometimes the best way to get the info you need is to actually have a Vampire contact. some of the Sewer Dwelling kind, the ugliest of the bunch, they're amazingly well informed. get one on your side, and you have a good chunk of the operations in the city mapped out for you. they know everything about anything you could possibly need to know, so it'd be a good move to try and develop a tie or two. maybe keep them out of your most wanted list, do a favour for one at some point. in the end, it'll be worth it. the first Vampire Lord i took out, i managed to pinpoint the location of with the help of one of these Nosferatu contacts, rather than the various cults and organisations that specialise in hunting Supernaturals. if you really want to do some damage to the General Vampiric community in an area, Nosferatu contacts are part of the first step towards it"...

"As I remember, I didn't fire a shot..." Van said, tapping the shotgun on his back, referring to what Drake first mentioned. "As for the sewer vamps...I really don't care for ANY vampire, valuable or otherwise. They ruined my life, and I intend to do the same to them..." Van said, frowning. Taking a large gulp of the wine, he looked back at the people in front of him, before taking yet another gulp of the drink in his hand, finishing it off...

"Hey news flash," Nyx said. "Group of Vampires right in front of you!" Diana snorted and Thanatos tried desperately to hide the smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.

"I wasn't implying that you did," said Drake in response as he took a sip of his drink. "but sometimes you don't even get the chance to get that far before they're all over you". "And regarding hating all Vampires, while i personally disagree on that point of view, i don't really care. but i wish you luck getting anywhere with that opinion. they have a social system as complicated as our own. New York has it's mayor on the human side, and a Prince operating the Vampire side of things. the Human side is oblivious of it, but it's there. and i'd be willing to pin 65% of the corruption in the city is a result of the Vampiric social system. if someone's crossed them outside of their own community, they'll use their various representatives within the human community to make said someone's life, a living Hell" said Drake honestly as he took another drink. "The social system for both sides is way bigger than you, or me, or any other single person. to get somewhere, you're going to need connections"

"Yes yes I already know about their fancy structure. The vampires I usually find are quite moronic when it comes to hiding their true selves..." Van said, setting down the glass on the edge of the balcony. "Trust me, sarcastic one, I would have already shot a shell into your face by now if it wasn't for your friend here." he said to the girl, smirking. "Well, thanks for the drink, but I think its time I left..." Van said, stepping casually onto the edge of the balcony, facing the people. Drifting backwards, he fell from the ledge, twisting around before he hit the ground, rolling forward as he finally did. Even though his legs ached from the impact, the roll allowed him to land without braking his legs. Standing, Van walked over to his motorcycle, climbing on without a second thought, and sped away from the mansion, back toward the warehouse...

Nyx watched Van drive away with a look of complete disgust. "I outta've broke his nose in!" she snarled. "Let's see how well he'd make that face then!" Thanatos glared after Van as well. "Not a very savory character," he said with equal disgust.

"He's a beginner Vampire Hunter. i remember a time when i could've related to him. he'll eventually change. i just hope by then he hasn't already become what he hates most" said Drake. "Anyway...what say we go inside? it's been a stressful night"...

"Amen to that," Thanatos said and started toward the stairs. "All I want to do is lounge on the couch and watch TV," Nyx said and followed Thanatos.

Drake followed. he was in the mood to play his new guitar for a bit. it'd also give him time to talk about the twins they had run into earlier that evening...

Diana sat in front of the fire stroking Raksha's fur as gently as she could. She turned her head when her friends started filing in. "Did he finally leave?" she asked. Thanatos nodded and sat himself in front of the fire as well. While nyx draped herself on the sofa and turned the TV on once again...
