The Nightmare grabbed Vincent's arm and spun, letting Diana's whip slam into him, before throwing him forward, making him stumble into Diana. With a hiss, the creature disappeared in a cloud of its own "blood..."

In a flash of smoke the Nightmare reappeared, this time in the bedroom next to Diana's bed. The creature scampered away, forcing open the door and disappearing down the corridor. All it left behind was a long trail of blue, choking smoke, which slowly disappeared as the creature's wounds slowly healed over.

Drake walked into the bedroom, looking at a worried looking Thanatos and an unconscious, though somewhat battered looking Diana. his eyes caught sight of a bit of blood and his pupils shrunk to the point they were nearly dots. "Looks like it didn't take the bait" he said, taking a few steps forward, standing at the side of the bed and looking down. he looked over his shoulder, deciding to leave the Demon and focus on whether or not Diana was alright...

Velkor stumbled into the room, looking over his shoulder down the hall. "That d*** thing just barreled down the hall and nearly knocked me over! Why the hell isn't it..." After looking at Diana, he growled, "Oh."

[The Kingpin]

Spencer cut the Demon's path off as he stood in front of it, an almost bored look on his face as he smoked another cigarette. "You really are an annoying *******" he said irritably as he moved forward, delivering a kick and knocking it back down the hall, skidding to a hault a few feet from the room the others were in, pinning it to the floor with a foot...

The Nightmare struggled angrily, then grabbed Spencer's leg, digging its claws into it and drawing them downward, ripping gashes in his leg. It did this again and again, trying to rip Spencer's leg to bloody ribbons and get free.

[The Kingpin]

the claws suddenly stopped cutting as Spencer's leg seemed to harden, his foot heating up as he pressed down on the Demon, burning into it's slimey white skin. "That was one of my better pairs of pants you just ripped up" he said as the surface touching the Demon's chest caught fire. Drake walked out, looking down at the Demon with a raised eyebrow...

The Nightmare screeched, lashing out to everything it could reach, as if trying to tear the very air to pieces. Velkor looked at the Demon with confusion. "Not much of a threat anymore, is it?"

[Shade]

Diana started to cry as the demon left. Vincent picked himself up and hugged Diana close to him. "I want this to stop," she weeped. "I know, I know," Vincent whispered. "There is a way it can stop, there is a way I can protect you more effiecently." She knew the answer, but somehow she knew running wasn't the answer, especially when she cared too much about her friends. "Come join us," Vincent said. "And you'll be more powerful then you could ever imagine, I know the answers to your dreams, I know what they are about and there's only one way you'll be able to know." With that he disappeared and Diana...

Slowly opened her eyes and looked at the crowd around her. "What happened?" she asked. "You tell us," Thanatos said and sighed with relief...

"Don't underestimate anything, no matter how helpless it looks" said Spencer as he continued to burn at the Demon, his hardened leg not feeling any of the blows the Demon made at it, Drake keeping his distance, still not completely sure he had seen everything the Demon was capable of...

[Shade]

Nyx went out into the hall as well to see if the demon was causing too much of a problem for them. "What the-?" she asked as she saw the pathetic excuse of a demon before her. "This is what we've been fretting over?" she asked scratching her head.

Spencer sighed. "Rewind and repeat. as i said to Velkor, never underestimate things...no matter how pathetic they look. this thing can and will kill you if given the chance" he said. "Oh, i don't think it'd get that far" said Drake sternly, the ever so subtle hint of protectiveness in his voice as he said it, to the point that it'd be almost undetectable to those who weren't looking for it...

The Nightmare suddenly stopped struggling. Instead, its eyes glowed even brighter, then let out a massive jet of blue smoke, blinding everyone temporarily and actually tripping Spencer from the sheer force of the gas being released. By the time the cloud had cleared up, the Nightmare had, once again, disappeared. Velkor, between coughs, hissed, "Son of a b****!"

"See why i say don't underestimate things?" said Spencer irritably as he straightened up, clearing his throat...

"For a Nightmare, that thing's pretty crafty," hissed Velkor. He cleared his throat and added, "Maybe we should start wearing gas masks..."

[Shade]

Nyx coughed a few times before speaking. "Think that's the last time we'll see it?" she asked.

"Doubt it," replied Velkor. "For all we know, it could be going after Mike now."

[The Kingpin]

"Who knows....he's probably prepared to fight it though" said Drake...

Velkor hissed, "Maybe we should go and see, just in case. Maybe if we beat it there, we can set a trap for it or something."

[Shade]

"Sounds like a plan," Diana said as she stepped out of the bedroom. Thanatos followed behind her. "I've already told Thanatos what happened," she said. "So if you want the details you ask him." Thanatos nodded. "So are we going after this thing or what?" he asked.

Drake nodded, heading towards where he remembered Mike had set up his quarters, having gone past it with Mike the last time he stopped by...
