Fireflower sat up quickly, surprised. Flamesight cocked her head to the other direction as if trying to figure something out. After a minute of silence she mewed, "Okay, I give up. What's the joke?"

"The union of Thunderclan and Shadowclan....the name it's been given is Stormclan....thunder and shadows. you're looking at one of the two leaders. Snowstar is the other" growled Wraith...

Flamesight almost grinned at the insanity of it all, but seeing the serious expression on Demontalon's face, she sobered and murmured, "Great StarClan...you're not joking." After a moment or two, she burst out laughing. "ThunderClan and ShadowClan, working together without tearing each other's fur off," she purred once she'd calmed down. "Never thought I'd see the day."

"Storm-what?" Smokestorm said, perking up. "Union between the clans that showed the most animosity towards each other? Did I miss something?"

"I suppose spending enough time in one camp has made them see they're not so different" growled Wraith with a chuckle. "In any case, right now i'm looking for survivors. the Clan's been around for a few moons now, but with the New Clans, the Wolves and the fires, we've had our hands full taking care of one problem after another. ended up turning all three of them at eachother to get rid of them together. in any case, now that the dust has settled, things have calmed down, we're trying to find out who else survived. and that's what i'm doing so far out of Clan territory. being experienced as a Loner i decided i'd take a walk and find out whose out here. clan survivors, rogues, possible threats like wolves, foxes and rats. testing the waters to know what's around us. along the way i found Demontalon here, and now i've found you three. i won't pressure any of you to go back to Clan life if you don't want to. but I welcome you if you do" he explained...

Flamesight exchanged a glance with Fireflower, flicking an ear in indecision. Fireflower shrugged in return. The sisters turned as one to Smokestorm, both pairs of eyes - one deep green, the other vivid blue - questioning.

Smokestorm stared back at the two she-cats, before glowering. "Oh, so I have to decide?" he growled. Giving an exasperated sigh, he looked around at his surroundings at what was currently his home. He glanced back at Wraith and, after a short pause, nodded. "We'll join you. I've been looking forward to meeting all of my old friends anyway."

Fireflower broke into a purr. "Well, since you've been lazy all day..." she teased her mate. Flamesight stood, her expression brightening a bit. "When do we leave?" she mewed, her forepaws kneading the ground in anticipation.

"Whenever you like. i don't need to get back to camp until after the sun's set" growled Wraith. "Though sooner would be better" he added...

Four out of the five patrol cats stormed into the clan. Flightclaw yowled "Cloudhaze!" Daggertooth stepped into the camp, dragging the strange cat across the ground... he was semiconcious. He mewed softly and the things that you could hear was delusional nonsense. A few moments later, the medicine cat appeared to answer the call. When she saw the cat they brought in, she gasped. "What happened!?" She mewed. "We dont know!" Windslash replied. "Daggertooth found him like that"

The Medicine cat walked up to the brown pelted cat and inspected him, noting that he was unussually thin. Apparently he with suffering from starvation and the coming cold wasn't helping the situation...

Flamesight flicked her tail-tip. "Lead on, then," she mewed.

Meanwhile, another drama was unfolding on the other side of the Moonpool stream. Blazeheart and Sunstorm had run into a hostile rogue, who claimed they were on his territory even though there were no scent marks around. An argument had quickly grown into death threats on the rogue's part. Sunstorm had only been trying to keep the peace when he stepped towards the angry cat, but the rogue had taken it as a threat and attacked at once. The fight had been vicious, and almost completely one-sided. As Blazeheart had leaped to his brother's defense, he had taken a nasty blow to the head meant for Sunstorm. While he'd been lying on the ground trying to get the stars to clear, Sunstorm had been on his own and had taken heavy damage. He had a few bad wounds near his throat and on the back of his neck, as if the furious rogue had tried for a few death bites. Sunstorm's back was scored with deep claw marks, and one of his front legs was bent at an unnatural angle.

The scent of blood, coupled with the sight of his brother's wounds, was almost enough to make Blazeheart turn tail and run. Almost. But he'd stepped to Sunstorm's side and gently pushed his nose into the bloodstained fur. "Please don't die," he now whispered, crouched beside Sunstorm, almost resting in a puddle of Sunstorm's blood. "Please..." Sunstorm swallowed hard. When he spoke, his voice was hoarse, as if the words clawed at his throat. "You'll have to go on without me, brother," he murmured. "Find mother and father...and Demontalon...and tell them..." He coughed, and blood sprayed the forest floor. "Tell them...I died a warrior's death. Protecting what means...the most to me." Sunstorm breathed in deeply. Blazeheart, now with his ear pressed to the other tom's flank, heard Sunstorm's heartbeat begin to slow. Pain stabbed into his heart, more pain than he'd ever felt in his life. But he forced himself to whisper, "You'll be honored, brother. Stories will be told about your bravery." Sunstorm laughed weakly. "You really...think so...?" the dying warrior breathed. "I know so," Blazeheart mewed, his throat constricting. They fell silent, Blazeheart just listening to his brother's slowing breathing and heartbeat.

One heartbeat...two heartbeats...three....Silence. Blazeheart swallowed hard, sitting up slowly. "Sunstorm," he whispered. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I'm so sorry..." He hung his head, wanting to wail his grief to the skies like a kit who had lost everything. And...in a way...he had. Sunstorm had been the only one he'd been able to find. They'd stuck together, searching for their parents. Trembling, Blazeheart leaned forward and closed Sunstorm's amber eyes with a tender lick. "You hunt with StarClan now," he whispered. "Maybe with Thunderheart and Auburnpelt, and definitely with all of the cats who have gone before." He hesitated, then added shakily, "I'll see you again one day, Sunstorm." With a heavy heart, he backed away and started looking for a good spot to bury his brother. When he found one, he started digging, allowing the memories to rise and threaten to drown him.

A vole from the freshkill pile was placed by the stranger, Obsidian staring down upon him. He pawed the morsel closer to the tom's mouth, but he didnt respond. "He's worse than I thought..." Daggertooth mewed. He nudged the forked- tail cat's head towards the vole, and with that, the cat's jaws latched onto the small meal, weakly chewing on it, trying to get some food into his system...

Wraith smirked, before walking onwards. "So what happened to you after the Clans were scattered?" he growled as he walked, by this point heading for the Windclan border...

"Well," Flamesight mewed, keeping pace even though her paws itched to race ahead. "We considered going to the Twoleg barn again, but I said I didn't want to live out the rest of my days in hiding. So we wandered for a bit, and finally settled here."

Demontalon nodded. She understood. She'd rather live her life out in the open than in a Twoleg barn too.

Heatherpelt weaved her way between the cats gathered around the newcomer. "Cut the vole up into smaller bits with your claws," she suggested to Daggertooth. "Maybe it'll be a bit easier for him to eat it."

Once the hole was deep and wide enough, Blazeheart padded back to the cooling body. He felt his eyes glaze over with pain. Sunstom seemed smaller in death, somehow. Gently the dark ginger tom bit into Sunstorm's scruff and dragged him into the hole. He licked the top of the other tom's head. "Goodbye," he murmured, slowly beginning to fill in the hole.

Another cat watched Blazeheart silently through eyes the piercing pale blue of ice. He didn't say anything to the grieving cat, and Blazeheart didn't look up and see him. He just sat on the branch of a tree and watched until Blazeheart had finished. The dark ginger warrior rested his head on his muddy forepaws and closed his amber eyes, as though exhausted. The black tom twitched his whiskers. Seeing this dug up all the pain of having to bury his own mother all over again. Still silent, Swift bowed his head.

"Understandable. Did you come across the New Clans...before they were destroyed that is" growled Wraith as he walked. just ahead was the Windclan border, and a bit further ahead of that, the Moonpool...

"No," Flamesight meowed. She cocked her head. "Those 'color Clans' I've heard rumors about are gone, then?"

Insolitus paused, bending to take a long drink from a stream. They'd come a long way. He was surprised at the amount of ground they'd covered. "I hear if you follow this stream away from the lake, it leads to an odd pool," he mewed to Renny, turning his head to look upstream.

Daggertooth nodded to the she-cat and then looked to Obsidian, who was raking a claw down the Vole's back, slicing a small chunk out of the small creature. He then pulled the vole from the cat's mouth, suprised to see that he didnt even bite into the thing... he was just teething it. Shaking his head, he prodded the small peice over to his mouth, and then with his nose, popped it into his jaws. The cat began chewing again, at first, slow and lethargic, but quickly speeding up affter a few tense seconds. The cat's half shut eyes opened, taking note of his surroundings. He didnt recall being dragged into the clan, and further more, he wondered why there were so many cats staring at him, but then he caught sight of the vole. His stomach growled loudly for more, and he pounced onto the meal, tearing into it as if it was the last morsel in the forest...

"Yeah. Snowstar and I crushed them not long after Stormclan was formed...though we still hadn't thought of a name at that point. a dew Wolves, a fire, and alot of taunting and fighting later, all four Colour Clans and the majority of the wolves in the forest were dead, burning or both" growled Wraith as he walked...

"Good," Flamesight meowed, her eyes glittering with satisfaction. "I expect that's the last we'll see of them, then."

The cat with the black ringed tail poked his head out of the den, blinking in suprise at a small crowd near the clan entrance. He trotted out of the den towards the commotion. He noticed Coldeyes was back... the dawn patrol couldnt have been finished already...
