Demontalon kept pace with Wraith, not bothering to try and smooth her ruffled fur. Fireflower and Flamesight weren't far behind her.
The rogue who had killed Sunstorm had retreated to its den, which was a bit closer to the stream, assuming the other intruder would leave soon, frightened out of his fur. He started to wash the blood from his brown and white pelt, ignoring the few wounds he had gained. They were minor and wouldn't slow him down much.

Smokestorm trailed behind the group, keeping an eye out for any ambushes, something a group of rogues wouldn't hesitate to attempt...

Wraith bolted for the nearest tree, almost literally running up the trunk and landing on a branch, looking around from his new vantage point. "I see a cat....and...what looks like a hole....looks like someone's lost a friend" he growled. he checked the surroundings for ambushes, making sure the coast was clear before leaping back down and walking in the direction of the cat...

Swift turned his head at a flicker of movement in the corner of his vision. Two black cats, two ginger, one gray. He was too high off the ground to tell exactly who they were, and with the stench of freshly spilled blood all around, it was impossible to catch their scent. To be safe, he turned, dug his claws into the bark of the tree, and started climbing higher, trusting his own dark pelt to keep him safe from view.

Wraith moved through the bushes, being surprisingly silent, the cat ahead coming into view. he flicked a bush with his tail to announce his presence, rather than speak when the tom had obviously lost someone dear to him...

Demontalon froze, wide-eyed upon spotting the cat. "StarClan, save me..." she whispered, watching the dark ginger tom before them turn. She could feel herself shaking when his amber gaze turned to Wraith. The raw grief in his eyes made her own heart clench. "Blazeheart," she murmured.

"Yes," the dark she-cat mewed. Slowly, she moved toward the ginger tom. Blazeheart's eyes caught hers and held them. "At least you're alive," he meowed. He could hear the pain in his own voice. He looked back down at Sunstorm's grave. "What happened?" Demontalon murmured, following his gaze. Blazeheart didn't answer for a minute. She was just beginning to think he wasn't going to, when he mewed, "Sunstorm's gone." She reeled back as if he had taken a swipe at her.

Blazeheart touched his nose to Demontalon's cheek before he looked at Wraith and mewed, "We ran into a rogue. He said we were on his territory...Sunstorm tried to explain we were only passing through, but things still got ugly, and fast." He shook his head slowly. "Sunstorm never was much of a fighter. He always tried to prevent it from happening, but this time..." His voice cracked. He swallowed hard and continued, "The rogue attacked us. He caught me in the head with a hit he meant for Sunstorm and almost knocked me out. By the time I could get up again..." Blazeheart swallowed again and shut his eyes. "...The rogue was nowhere in sight, and Sunstorm was lying on the ground, almost dead."
