"I hope so. i don't want anyone blowing this up into something big. not only for the sake of peace but to avoid permanently making newcomers feel unwelcome" he growled. "Did you see or hear anything that might hint that someone wasn't happy with it?" inquired Wraith. he had taken note of Stormheart talking somewhat energetically to his mother earlier. what it was and whether it was good or bad, he didn't know...

Shadelight looked down at her paws as if she was thinking. She didn't want to lie, she was a terrible liar anyway. "I've heard only whispers," she said at last. "Nothing other than that."

Wraith nodded, his tail sweeping around her as he lay beside her. "Any idea who it was whispering?" growled Wraith. he could see a faint look of conscern on Shadelight's face. he knew her well enough to be able to tell when she was uncomfortable, and intended to drop the subject if she showed any reluctance to answer...

Shadelight shook her head. Stormheart would grow to tolerate the new cats in time, of that she was sure of. "I feel that even if there are whispers now, there will be cheers later," she said.

"I hope so" growled Wraith, falling into deep thought. a few moments later he growled "Would you like to join me for a walk tomorrow? get a bit of a breather outside the camp?"...

Shadelight looked up and smiled. "Of course, that sounds wonderful," she purred, her tail swishing with excitement.

Wraith smirked. "I'd suggest you get an early night's rest then. we're going to leave before the sun's up. I'll be heading to our den in a minute....i need to tell Snowstar something first" he growled. he then got up, walking towards the Leader Den, a large, dark den where Wraith and Snowstar would usually meet when they needed to discuss Clan topics in private. recently Snowstar had begun to spend alot of time there. unhealthy considering Snowstar was a Thunderclan cat that generally preffered light. to cats that weren't naturally comforted by the dark, spending too long in it could tend to depress them. before entering he glanced over at Coldeyes. "you know what to do, Coldeyes. make sure we aren't disturbed" he growled before walking into the den. taking note of the typically sad looking Snowstar laying in the den, Wraith nodded to the Co-Leader. he sat in one corner of the spacious but dark den, invisible if not for the shimmer of his amber eyes in the darkness. "I want to discuss the other Clans with you, Snowstar" he growled lowly...

Coldeyes moved out of the den. He laid by the entrance as he ussually would. Some cats realized that when he did this, it was him keeping guard of the den. Few tried to eavesdrop, fearing a lash out from Coldeyes...

Snowstar's eyes opened, picking up the stray light from the setting sun, which set them ablaze with an intense golden glaze. "The new clans?" The white tom mewed. "As in, reformed fur color clans?" He growled, distastefully

"No" growled Wraith calmly. "Their fates will likely be taken as an example that we won't stand for that kind of cruelty even if it's outside of our clan. no, the Clans i want to talk to you about are the ones that have turned up in their place. to date, i have met one. Novaclan. unusual cats with strange looking eyes and completely clean pelts. i can comfortably say they're unlike any cat i've ever met before. Their leader approached us yesterday not long after i took out a rogue that killed one of Thunderheart's sons, Sunstorm. they have thus far shown nothing but good intentions. their leader had intended to take out the rogue for what it had done even if we hadn't got to it first, and they have asked for peaceful relations with our clan" mewed the tom as he curled his tail around his paws...

"Well well...." Snowstar mewed. "Things in the forest... that dont want to kill us...even after nine moons of peace, it is a strange feeling" The white tom mewed. "I would like to meet this...Novaclan leader.., what would be its name?"

"Her name is Ulthwe. she is, in the words of the Novaclan cats, the Farseer of the clan" growled Wraith. "I intend to go to their camp tomorrow to speak formally with them. so far, i have decided to have Shadelight accompany me. If you like, you're welcome to come as well, if you think Coldeyes has the ability to oversee the Clan in your absence. I trust Robinflight to do so in my stead"...

"Coldeyes will act when needed" Snowstar growled. "He's handled many situations quite well in our absence. However...you bring your mate to diplomatic meetings? I know you involve her with the clan's affairs but... isnt that too much?" he mewed...

"The main reason i'm taking her is to give her a breather out of the Clan territory. memories and such. also, i intend to discuss her position as Medicine Cat with her. Our clan is now almost the same size as Thunderclan in it's prime, and a single Medicine Cat was enough for them then. Cloudhaze is doing a good enough job as is and i think that, despite Shadelight's skill as a medicine cat herself, she'd be more useful as a Warrior and a mentor to others for now. if ever the clan would be in such bad condition that Cloudhaze would be potentially overwhelmed, Shadelight would be in an excellent position to lighten the load and help care for our Clan Cats faster than one Medicine Cat could do alone" he growled...

"An excellent point... times arent as grim as before, and the code applies to all cats in a clan" Snowstar mewed, nodding. "But we will do all in our power to keep the clans from ever reverting to what they once were The cat mewed sternly, feeling the sadness in his heart be forced away by the pride that came with being a Thunderclan cat... deep in his mind, he knew Hawksight would understand that he would have to move on one day or another, and that day just came...

"I don't intend to have Shadelight's skills go to waste however" growled Wraith. "Oh no....both she and Heatherpelt will have more...generally beneficial roles for the Clan if i can help it" he added, waiting to hear Snowstar's reaction before he continued...

"Of course. They trained hard, and for that to lead to nothing would be a shame. Tell me, what do you have in mind for them?" Snowstar mewed

"I intend to make each cat in the Clan somewhat self dependent. have the Medicine Cats, or rather, Shadelight and Heatherpelt specifically, act as Mentors for all clan members, warrior, elder, leader, apprentice, and eventually, maybe even kits. teach them how to treat themselves of minor injuries and ailments. that way, neither of them feel they have no use to the clan, and, the Clan as a whole becomes stronger" growled Wraith...

"I had a feeling you were going to say that... but then theres the matter of having the right herbs at paw at any given time... the medicine den is the only guarantee of that.." Snowstar mewed. He shook his head.

"Remember they'll be teaching basic things to the clan cats. you know, like using cobwebs to stop minor bleeding and poppy seeds for stress, anxiety and pain. the kind of things that could help a clan cat even when alone. they won't require use of the Medicine Den. that'll be restricted to Medicine Cats only, seeing as they would be the most knowledgeable in that field and would know best how to make use of their supplies. many of the minor injuries can be treated with very common materials afterall. i can tell you that from experience" he explained...

"Well warriors who can heal themselves are more effective warriors- if they can find what they need. Give it a shot and see how it works out" Snowstar mewed. He glanced out to the setting sun. Its glow was bright at the top of the trees, and the sky was bright orange. "Its almost sun down. Do you have a night vigil?" He asked his partner leader. "Or should I have Coldeyes appoint cats?"
