as the music faded, Gaara closed his eyes again, enjoying the peace of the room for a few more minutes before he'd inevitably have to go out and make his presence known at least. he wondered what today would have in store for them. not having a blood-soaked agenda was something of an abnormality for Gaara. he wasn't used to going for days without at least killing a criminal. though admittedly, from time to time he ended up killing someone simply because they were so unbearably cocky or insulting they managed to piss him off. being somewhat short tempered didn't help their luck much, even though recently he had cooled down and was less prone to violent outlashes at people...

Ira sat back up on the counter, cradling her drink in her hands. "Tea with a spoonful of honey," she commented, more to herself. "A gift from the gods." Yoruichi smiled faintly. Personally, she preferred it without honey, but each to his...or her own.

the sound of a door opening could be heard, Gaara finally walking out of the library and heading for the kitchen, a faint thirst striking him...

As Ira drained the last mouthful of her drink, she heard a knock on the back door. She was off the counter in the next few seconds, feeling like every muscle in her body was tensed. Not many knew where this house was, and they were either dead, or...fellow assassins. Slowly, she moved to a better position to see out of the small windows on the door.

Gaara walked into the kitchen, glancing towards where Ira had gone. he poured himself a drink, not drinking yet though, not wanting to do anything to disrupt his hearing...

Seeing who was wanting to come in, Ira let out a long, soft hiss. Yoruichi glanced from the door, to Ira, to Gaara, and back, not knowing what was going on but understanding it was something Ira didn't like. Ira murmured, "It's them." The snake and rose tattoo was displayed proudly on her...visitor's left shoulder.

Gaara's eyes narrowed, the man sipping from the glass of water as thin streams of sand began to pour from the sides of the gourd and onto the ground, drifting along the ground finely towards the entrance...

Ira felt her fingers warm in anticipation of a fight. "Six of them out back," she muttered. She barely turned her head, enough to be able to see the front door out of the corner of her eye. "Probably more out there..." She switched her gaze to Yoruichi. "Stay out of this." She looked back at the door, as the knock came again, more insistent this time.

more streams of sand came from the gourd, sand becoming a thin layer on the ground, though thick enough to be able to be used. Gaara continued to drink the water, seemingly unperturbed by the presence of the assassins...though beneath the shell of indifference, he was on full alert...

It was only because she was listening for it that she heard the quiet, "Break in. She's not going to let you in willingly." Ira felt her lip curl, baring her fangs. They wanted a fight. They could have one.

by this point the inside of the room would seem dusty, sand drifting in the air, as well as on the ground, ready for use the moment a movement was made. Gaara finished his water and placed it in the sink, crossing his arms, waiting patiently for the assassins to move...

A moment later, something hard and heavy slammed against the window beside the door repeatedly. The glass began to crack. A low snarling distracted Ira, and she was shocked to see a large black wolf standing where Yoruichi had been. The wolf started forward. A glitter of metal caught Ira's eye, just as the window gave. The next few seconds Ira saw in slow-motion. A throwing knife, probably meant to end her life, about to be sent speeding towards the black wolf instead. Without knowing why, Ira turned, moving as fast as she was able, and put herself, back to the window, in front of the wolf. The knife sunk its blade into her back, between her shoulders, without warning. Everything seemed frozen for just a second. She thought she saw something like horror in the wolf's orange eyes, before she fell, only just stopping herself from hitting her face off the floor. The agony made her mouth open in a silent scream, her eyes widen. It kept her from moving too much, no matter how many times her brain screamed at her to.

Gaara's gaze focused on Ira, then the window, as suddenly, a large amount of sand by the front door collecting between the window and Ira and Yoruichi, morphing into a large, jagged spike and propelling itself through the broken window, impaling the assassin who threw the knife, the sand spike morphing itself into several branching spikes, ripping into the assassin's body before tearing him apart, the sand spike pulling back in, now soaked red, as more sand began to swirl within the room, becoming a minor dust storm as Gaara sped up his reaction time to make preventing attacks easier. "Yoru, bring her here" he said calmly, focusing on the situation and their surroundings...

Carefully, Yoruichi squeezed her head under Ira's quivering body and managed to get the other demon onto her shoulders. She padded over to Gaara, her sole concern being for Ira. Her lips skinned back from her elongated teeth in anger as she glanced back to the broken window.

Eleven flinched, wide-eyed as the blood splattered his face. One of the men shouted a few well-chosen words, and another muttered, "This can't be real..." Glancing at the assassins, Eleven guessed there was nothing else to be done, and allowed his wings to rip out of his back. His fire danced around him, as if taunting the ones inside the house.

the sand swirled around Gaara and the girls, a large amount suddenly bursting from the ground out back, blowing outwards and into the Assassins, crushing a couple until the bones in their bodies were no larger than bits of gravel, before hurling their mangled corpses over the house, to land among the assassins at the front, Gaara turning to face the back yard as a wall of sand formed between the trio and the front of the house, making a second attack all but impossible. "You're going to regret being born" he said coldly as he brought his hands forward, two thick torrents of sand moving forward, branching onto two more, 4 clawed limbs of sand arching out around him and slamming into the assassins and pinning them against various surroundings, among them, trees and large rocks, the sand limbs breaking off, trapping them there, solwly constricting them with the intent of crushing them literally flat...

"The one...with the tattoo..." Ira forced out between gasps of pain. Yoruichi glanced at the injured girl, alarmed when she saw the red stain on Ira's shirt spreading. "The tattoo..." Ira repeated, the effort it took to speak starting to become too much for her.

Eleven snarled, struggling to free himself as the other assassins began to panic. The ones out front, seeing what was happening, turned to run. "Forget Zero's orders, I ain't ready to die!" one whispered, fear nearly choking him.

Gaara walked towards Eleven, a pillar of sand bursting fron the ground, arcing over the house and slamming down on the retreating assassins, the sheer weight of it killing them instantly, as Gaara stared right into the tattoo'd assassin's eyes, the sand tightening the more he struggled. "Looks like Ira was right. you guys were STILL after her afterall. tell me....where's your leader?" he said, as a bed of sand brought Ira and Yoru slightly closer, though the amount of sand in the area now meant that it'd be all but impossible to attack them...

Eleven hissed, falling still. "She's a traitor," he growled. "She knows too much. Zero is very clear - all traitors must be eliminated."

"Perhaps 'Zero' would have better luck NOT forcing his recruits to kill before they're mentally prepared for it. he doesn't like it, he should change his own retarded protocols rather than take his failures out on the people he's discomforted with them" responded Gaara as the sand encasing Eleven suddenly started to shift along one arm, shredding the clothing and severely irritating the skin, as if it were being rubbed with sandpaper, the feeling stopping after a few moments...

"She wanted a job. We gave her one," Eleven hissed. "She didn't know what she was getting into...but that's her own fault."
