Gaara looked at the creature curiously, sand swirling around him, so thin it was barely visible, soon returning to the gourd...

JoJo stood up again, walking backwards so that he could see all three of the mutants at the same time. He put Yoruichi aside for now. He was more interested in what drew him here to begin with. He sniffed the man who had the sand, the faint stench of blood lingering on him... he also picked up the scent from the red headed demon, though it seemed to be fresh, like a wound. Surely that couldnt be the source of the scent he picked up on, but there was nothing else that he picked up on...

"Gaara, Ira, Jojo," Yoruichi said, looking up at the puzzled expression on the amber-eyed teen's face. "Jojo...these are my friends." Ira blinked, and let her head hit the cabinet with an audible thunk. "Jeez, give a girl a heart attack, why don't you," she muttered, lifting a hand to rub at her eyes.

JoJo's gaze turned from the sand-man to the red head. "Strange friends" He thought. "But Im not the most normal thing either..." He noted. He caught his tendancy to think rather than growl, or bark when he was around others...

What have I gotten myself into this time? Ira wondered, watching Yoruichi pet the dog...which was apparently, if its appearance was anything to go by, made of ink. She'd known by the scents that clung to Yoruichi that the older teen had met up with other demons. But an ink-dog? It was almost unbelievable. Now I've seen everything, she thought, closing her golden eyes with a quiet sigh and an almost invisible frown. ....And then there's the mystery of Yoruichi's scars...who gave them to her? Why?

JoJo turned away from the group. He looked around the house, confused. He smelled blood, and one of the mutants was injured, but that wasnt what brought him here. There was still a lot of blood somewhere near though, somewhere behind the house. JoJo let out a frustrated snarl. "I suppose no one's going to inform a dog about what I just missed?" He thought. "Of course"

Ira let out a long, soft sigh, as if suddenly exhausted. She looked straight at Yoruichi and began speaking in the tongue they instinctively understood. To the others, it would sound like meaningless snarling and hissing. Yoruichi heard, "Any other random friends I should expect to turn up?" She cocked her head, and replied in the same odd way of speaking, "I don't think so." Ira grimaced. "Terrific. So there's a slim chance." "More like no chance," Yoruichi soothed. "You said it's unlikely they'll find your home." Ira narrowed her eyes a bit. "That was before these two showed up. Now I'm not so sure."

The ink hound snapped his body around again. He examined the trio of mutants with his emerald eyes. They seemed alright enough. No signs of pain or fear. It was kind of off putting, the entire atmosphere of the place. He looked about for anything he can use to write and found none. So there goes asking about why he smelt blood. He let his tail drop to the floor and let out a soft whimper. He was worried that his friend had just seen some one die- or worse, murdered some one herself...

Ira curled her lip when Yoruichi fell silent. She didn't like not knowing. She didn't like having a strange dog and a person she didn't showing up and seeming to know Yoruichi. She'd thought her house was safe...the attack and these two showing up proved it wasn't. "I'm going upstairs," she said. "I need to think. Enjoy your time with your friends." She pushed off of the counter, heading out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Yoruichi was left staring after her, an unreadable expression on her face. "Well...that was interesting," she sighed, falling easily back into her usual tongue. She reached up and rubbed at the thick scar on her shoulder. So...now Ira had seen. A discussion was bound to happen, sooner or later. The question was when.

Ira shut and locked her door behind her, wincing as she accidentally moved her shoulders in a way that made her still-fresh wound throb. "A week and a half...and it'll be just another scar," she muttered to herself. She moved to the window and climbed easily onto the sill. Leaning her head against the cool glass - which felt good against the headache that had begun to make itself known - she closed her eyes. Okay...recap; in the past few days, I've agreed to train a fellow demon, brought her here to do so, met her friends, and taken a knife in the back for her when she's begun to see her fire isn't all bad, only to find out that I didn't have to end up stabbed. She reached up to rub at her temples - the stabbing pain was suddenly worse. So I'm down for the count without a good reason...assassins have just tried to kill me and will more than likely try again....And now to top it all off, I think I've got a migraine coming on... Ira let out a long, quiet sigh. Way to go, Ace. At this rate, you'll be dead, cold, and six feet under before you can say, "Well, this sucks." She reached up to take her hair down, letting it shield her face from view as frustration began to choke her. Things can't go the way I plan just once. No. Things have to end up f*cked up and with me running for my life yet again. It's long day following long day following long day, because I make stupid mistakes and only end up hurt because of it. She reached out and punched the wall, bruising her knuckles. "Damn it all..." she muttered under her breath, trying not to let everything get to her so badly. It was difficult though - she was still a kid and she was carrying a lot of weight on her shoulders. She had been the rock, the shoulder to cry on for her friends when she was younger because she hardly ever broke down completely. That didn't mean she never did - she just didn't let anyone see it.

JoJo approached Yoruichi tentatively. When she spoke to Ira just now- it seemed...beastial. Primal in a sense. Has the girl he knew changed somehow? Becoming animalistic. He didnt like the thought. He's seen mutants, and what happens to those who succumb to insanity for what ever reason. He didnt want to see that happen to a friend- didnt want her to change into what she looked like- a demon...

Gaara watched the stairs where Ira had gone, thinking. he then looked at Yoru. "Think she'll be ok?" he asked, speaking for the first time since the ink...dog...thing had entered the house...

Yoruichi reached out to pet Jojo, saying as she did so, "Hard to say. I think she will - she's probably just got a lot on her mind."

JoJo fought the urge to back away from the demon. She was acting like he remembered, yet she was subtley changing. It confused him. After a moment though, he simply relaxed. There were some things a dog needn't worry about. He had found an old friend after weeks of loneiness. It felt nice to know that there were others who cared. It also opened up the posibillity his master was still alive...

"Well, suddenly getting a sand-man, an oily....grease dog thing and a group of murderous demon assasins at her doorstep must be a bit of a shock...not to mention that stab...annoys me that i hadn't seen that coming" said Gaara...

Yoruichi hummed quietly. It had been one hell of a day. She said as much, and turned her head as piano music, soft and slow, and slightly muffled, reached her. She'd heard it this morning, too. She cocked her head, curious, but not quite daring to go upstairs and investigate.

JoJo broke finally broke away from Yoruichi. A thought had just occurred to him. Did that other mutant go away because of him? He hung his head as he looked to the stairs. After a moment of pondering, he made his way to and up the steps...

Yoruichi muttered, "Uh oh." She started to get to her feet, even knowing she didn't have enough time to stop Jojo from going up the stairs.

Ira was feeling a little more relaxed now, as her fingers flew over the familiar keys. She thought - maybe - she could get used to the new situation, given time. She switched to playing a slightly different piece, trying to keep herself calm.

JoJo moved off the last steps, tail swishing about behind him. He walked slowly as he followed the music to the mutant child. It wasnt too long until he found her at the piano. He sat and cocked his head. The sound was meaningless to him, yet it caused some ink on his shoulders to writhe and dance about in tune...

Ira didn't notice the ink dog. The music she played had lulled her into a trancelike state, to the point she could almost forget she wasn't normal. She could almost forget that she was training Yoruichi and that she'd been stabbed. Almost.

JoJo approached Ira, taking small steps. The shifting ink formed thin tendrils, with long and skinny fingers. They arced over Ira's shoulders, touching the piano keys. The fingers pressed down gentley as they experimented with the sounds they made, trying to stay in key with Ira...which he failed to do most of the time, seeing as he had no idea what a piano was
