Ira curled her lip when Yoruichi fell silent. She didn't like not knowing. She didn't like having a strange dog and a person she didn't showing up and seeming to know Yoruichi. She'd thought her house was safe...the attack and these two showing up proved it wasn't. "I'm going upstairs," she said. "I need to think. Enjoy your time with your friends." She pushed off of the counter, heading out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Yoruichi was left staring after her, an unreadable expression on her face. "Well...that was interesting," she sighed, falling easily back into her usual tongue. She reached up and rubbed at the thick scar on her shoulder. So...now Ira had seen. A discussion was bound to happen, sooner or later. The question was when.
Ira shut and locked her door behind her, wincing as she accidentally moved her shoulders in a way that made her still-fresh wound throb. "A week and a half...and it'll be just another scar," she muttered to herself. She moved to the window and climbed easily onto the sill. Leaning her head against the cool glass - which felt good against the headache that had begun to make itself known - she closed her eyes. Okay...recap; in the past few days, I've agreed to train a fellow demon, brought her here to do so, met her friends, and taken a knife in the back for her when she's begun to see her fire isn't all bad, only to find out that I didn't have to end up stabbed. She reached up to rub at her temples - the stabbing pain was suddenly worse. So I'm down for the count without a good reason...assassins have just tried to kill me and will more than likely try again....And now to top it all off, I think I've got a migraine coming on... Ira let out a long, quiet sigh. Way to go, Ace. At this rate, you'll be dead, cold, and six feet under before you can say, "Well, this sucks." She reached up to take her hair down, letting it shield her face from view as frustration began to choke her. Things can't go the way I plan just once. No. Things have to end up f*cked up and with me running for my life yet again. It's long day following long day following long day, because I make stupid mistakes and only end up hurt because of it. She reached out and punched the wall, bruising her knuckles. "Damn it all..." she muttered under her breath, trying not to let everything get to her so badly. It was difficult though - she was still a kid and she was carrying a lot of weight on her shoulders. She had been the rock, the shoulder to cry on for her friends when she was younger because she hardly ever broke down completely. That didn't mean she never did - she just didn't let anyone see it.
