Steeltalon hissed angrily. "And what part do I play in this?" she snarled, stiffening furiously. "My family was killed in front of me! I myself nearly died!" She turned to show Darkclaw the long scar down her side, a permanent reminder of what she'd been through. Turning to face him again, Steeltalon snarled, "You don't know what suffering means! Silver and I both lost our families! And what of you, Darkclaw?" Steeltalon's eyes flashed. "You know nothing of suffering! You had a pack! I barely knew my parents. Silver is four months and her family was murdered when she was just a month old, barely able to walk!" She took a step forward and glared at Darkclaw, her red eyes like hell's blazing inferno. "So before you come complain to anyone about being exiled, remember that there are others who have suffered much, much worse!" Beside her, Silver nodded sadly.

Darkclaw snorted, "Oh, boohoo! Well, guess what? I never knew my parents either, as far as I know! I've been a member of Reaper's pack as long as I remember, but he never even mentioned my parents, let alone anyone else's. And I never said you play a part, Steeltalon. As a matter of fact, I think you should be supporting this Rex. He almost got me killed!"

green eye snarled at darkclaw:"the reason you were almost killed is because i've given you warnings to stay out of my territory and you've ignored them." darkclaw had intentionally ignored green eye's warnings and entered green eye's territory. green eye was determined to stop this raptor from being a threat.

Darkclaw walked straight up to Greeneye and looked right into his eyes. He hissed, "That's not what I'm talking about, fool! I'm talking about Reaper. Since you made me send that message, he threatened to kill me. But don't you fret, Rexy, I'll make sure I get you back for that."

green eye snarled at darkclaw:"we'll see. i'll bet that your plan is to cause a herd of triceratops to stampede and kill me." green eye wasn't concerned about a trike stampede. triceratops knew to stay away from rex territory. for a trike, entering the territory of a rex would mean getting killed.

Steeltalon emmitted a furious snarl. "And as far as I'm concerned, you're tresspassing on MY territory now." Her eyes blazed. "If you were smart, you would've avoided me altogether. I killed Riptide and Night, and I'll kill you as well if you don't leave!" Darkclaw was getting on her nerves. he was a threat to Silver, and Steeltalon would defend the little hatchling with her life.

Darkclaw squinted. He turned away and growled without looking back, "Maybe, but don't bet on it. It doesn't matter either way. Your son WILL die, and once you're done grieving, I'll kill you too! But maybe your mate first. I want to make you suffer every day until you die! For now, I'll be going." He walked off, back the way he came and around Greeneye. He lept into a tree, paused, and hissed to Steeltalon, "Oh, and don't forget, you'll suffer just as much if you get in the way."

Darkclaw stopped. He turned around and backed into the tree foliage to listen in on the conversation. He hissed, "Hmmm, this gives me an idea."

rawclaw approached his father. he growled:"daddy? i don't want you to kill mommy. mommy doesn't want to kill me." rawclaw realized his mother had angered his father. he realized this wasn't the right thing for his father to do.

Steeltalon sighed and turned to Silver and Greeneye. "This is Silver. She ran into me while I was coming home from hunting." She didn't say she meant that literally. "I offered her shelter until she's old enough to hunt for herself." Silver stared in awe at Greeneye.

green eye growled to steeltalon:"it seems that silver hasn't had anything to eat for some time." green eye was sure when a hatchling was as thin as silver was, it might only be able to live for one more day. green eye was sure that silver would be able to survive now that she had found steeltalon.

Steeltalon nodded. "She told me her family vanished three months ago and she hasn't seen them since," she growled, a bit of sympathy making its way into her tone.

Darkclaw snickered quietly to himself. "Hehehehe... She won't live lng enough to hunt on her own, Steeltalon, I assure you. When I'm done with the Rex, you're next."

green eye growled to steeltalon:"i'm suprised silver is still alive. she must have scavenged for food." green eye knew that scavenging was a way to avoid starving. some carnivores that were unable to run fast enough to catch their prey would most likley scavenge from other carnivores kills.

Steeltalon's head snapped around, her eyes glaring. She knew she'd heard Darkclaw's voice. "Last warning, Darkclaw," she called into the trees where she knew he was hiding. "Leave now or I'll kill you!" She turned back to Greeneye. "Yes, she must've, and it really is a miracle she managed to survive on her own for three months," she agreed with Greeneye. Then she barked, "Darkclaw will probably head for your nest first. You should go warn Whitescale that Darkclaw's coming, and hide Sunlight somethere safe." Steeltalon called Silver to her and pushed the Homalo carcass towards the little hatchling.

Steeltalon nodded in farewell and tore into the Homalo carcass, being sure to leave most of it for Silver. The little hatchling was going to need all of her strength to survive in Steeltalon's territory, especially with Darkclaw hanging around. "Silver," she growled softly, giving the hatchling's flank a nudge with her snout. "I must show you where you will be sleeping and how to get in and out." she crouched down and allowed Silver to climb onto her back before slipping into the cave, onto the first ledge.

"Wow!" Silver chirped. "I would never have guessed that hole would lead to a place like this!" She scrambled off of Steeltalon and started running around.

"This will be your home until you are able to hunt for yourself," Steeltalon growled, giving a short, barking laugh at Silver's eagerness. "If anyone but me enters this cave, hide somewhere safe and don't come out until I return." Steeltalon watched Silver run around for a while before deciding to bring the kill inside. She left it for Silver and slipped outside the caves, standing guard and scenting for Darkclaw.

Darkclaw scampered to Greeneye's nest, easily outracing him. He saw Whitescale, but she had her back turned and Sunlight was exposed. Darkclaw had to restrain himself from laughing maniacally. This was too easy!
