"By the stream," Hawkclaw meowed. "There's an oak tree in the center of a clearing not far from it."

"Sounds good" meowed Nightclaw. he began to walk in that direction. "Anything in particular? voles? mice perhaps?" he asked...

"Dunno about you, but I'm after the fish," Hawkclaw meowed, her eyes glittering as she fell into step beside him.

"Strange" Snowstar mewed. "Starclan doesnt really contact us to assist how we deal with loners and rogues..." He cocked his head as he thought about things. "We shall see how the clan takes to them at the end of their trial... Ill also be watching.."

"They assured us these two didn't intend to cause harm...but there's no harm in taking precautions" meowed Wraith...

"....fish? you know how to catch fish?" meowed Nightclaw, eyes wide with a blend of both excitement and shock...

"Snowstar showed us how," Hawkclaw meowed. "'Us' being my brother and sisters and I. I could teach you, if you like," she offered.

"That'd be great" meowed Nightclaw, the prospects of the amount of prey they could bring in if they could fish overwhelming...

"Indeed. I've told Robinflight to keep his monitoring as covert as possible, so he doesnt' discomfort them. but at the same time, he's to be close enough to stop them should they be caught doing anything that may harm the Clan" growled Wraith...

"Let's not waste anymore time, then," Hawkclaw meowed with a grin, upping the pace.

Nightclaw smiled, hurrying towards the stream, looking forward to learning how to catch the silvery waterbound creatures that had taunted him for so long from their liquid sanctuaries...

"I see" Snowstar mewed, nodding. He noticed Coldeyes taking out group of cats for the dawn patrol. He also took a note of Hawkclaw and Nightclaw leaving the clan. He smiled. Its good that she was becoming more social.

Hawkclaw slowed when she reached the bank of the stream, making sure she was in the shadow of a tree. "Don't let your shadow fall over the water," she mewed. She half-extended one paw, amber gaze fixed intently on the stream, keeping herself still and poised to strike.

Nightclaw stood in the trees shadow by Hawkclaw and watched, interest glittering in the tom's eyes...

Without warning, her paw flashed out, shattering the calm surface. Her claws sank into flesh and she pulled her paw back, lunging down at the same time to sink her teeth into her catch, just behind the head. She bit down hard, felt her fangs hit the spine and sever it. The fish stopped wriggling, and she dropped it on the bank. "When you see a fish, be quick or it'll get away," she meowed. "Sink your claws in first and swipe it towards the bank. Then bite down hard as soon as you get the chance." She blinked at the younger warrior. "Need to see it again?"

"nah...i think i get it" responded Nightclaw as he moved slightly closer the bank, one paw at the ready, staring at the water intently for a few moments. a few seconds later, he struck, his paw shooting into the water and swiping the fish, the fish being swatted out of the water, four slashes in it's scaled side, the fish dropping onto the bank and flopping wildly, suddenly leaping extraordinarily high and landing on Nightclaw's head as he reached it, the tom suddenly twisting in response and snapping at it, the fish dropping to the floor and flopping around before Nightclaw finally got ahold of it, biting down until he felt a satisfying crack, the fish falling limp. "You'd think being the son of a Riverclan cat i'd have some kind of natural skill with this..." mumbled the tom disappointedly...

Hawkclaw bit the inside of her cheek hard to keep from laughing. "You just need to practice," she meowed, her tone remarkably neutral considering she was choking back laughter. "Soon enough you'll be catching fish as easily as RiverClan used to."

Nightclaw shrugged. looking at the fish, he found the one he caught was slightly larger than Hawkclaw's. "Maybe if i try a few more times we could start competing....though i dunno how we'll carry them all if we catch too many....maybe one more each?" he mewed...

Hawkclaw nodded. She focused on the stream once more, paw half extended as she waited for a fish to pass by.

Nightclaw positioned himself a couple of feet downstream, still mostly hidden by the tree's shadow, his paw the only thing casting a shadow over the water, though it was small enough to look like an extention of the tree itself...if Hawkclaw missed anything...he'd get it...

The white paw flashed out again, claws extended. Again they sank into cold flesh. The she-cat lunged downwards, finding to her surprise that this one was almost too big to get her jaws around it. With a grunt of effort, she dragged it out of the stream and aimed a blow with her free paw, trying to kill the fish before she had a repeat performance and fell into the stream.
