"From what i gather, the humans have had alot of trouble keeping us locked up. do you really think they'd go straight to a place with lots of living humans around? especially with the murderous tendencies of some predators on the island..." hissed Hellfire. Crusher getting loose in a place with many humans was a disaster for them any way one looked at it. it'd only be a matter of time before they were wiped out if an escape like the one that happened here, happened somewhere with humans. but, even if the humans managed to pin down and kill the predators completely, it wouldn't be without serious losses to them...

Fatalis smiled. he glanced at the siblings, wanting to hear what all three thought before he told them...

"If they suffered so badly in the past....what could possibly make them think things would be different this time?" Aircrest growled in reply. "If anything, they'll kill us all to save themselves the trouble of taking us back. But like I told a friend, Im not going down without a fight" He hissed...

"I'm glad for that," Alira growled, bowing her head. Though she was calmed a little by Rampage's words, the ingrained fear of bigger predators lingered in the back of her mind.

Darkness snorted in response to the Rex, but said nothing else. The dark raptor found himself immersed in memories, almost colliding with a tree from lack of focus. It began at his own confrontations with Crusher and his family, but eventually his thoughts drifted from the Rex and to others like Steeltalon, and the life they had. Though much of it was gone now, he had made sure those involved lived as best they could, before the move anyway. Fire and Ice were accepted into the mutant pack thanks to him, and he made sure that Silver and her family were safe and happy. His other offspring, last he saw them, were in their own pack, leading seemingly happy lives. Darkness sighed. Although he hoped none of them were involved in this mess in the human territory, he still felt as though he had no purpose now. His hate for those that abandoned him had died out some time ago...mostly. The others he knew seemed to move on without him...life itself moved on without him...

...The dark raptor hissed under his breath, almost tripping over a fallen tree as he ran, forcing himself out of his memories, not exactly looking forward to colliding with a tree...

"You know....I find it ironic" rumbled Crusher after several moments of silence. "Among the acquaintences we first shared....it'd be you and me, of all predators, to have survived and become friends, of all things.....Scar.....Sharpclaw.....Rawhide....Exile....most of our shared acquaintences from back then are dead...the ones with all the teamwork and friendships and ties with eachother....and yet you and me, the ones who frequently were at eachother's throats for one reason or another....we're the only ones left" he continued, chuckling at the dark humour of life...

"Agreed" growled Hellfire, flexing his claws at the thought of slaughtering any human that tried to harm him, or, he surprisedly realised, his friend, Aircrest. after a few moments of contemplation over the realisation, he continued with what he was going to say before the thought hit him. "Though, i'm not surprised they don't learn. afterall, it's not unlike Sorna. One pack of Raptors can't learn from the mistakes of another pack unless they witness it....whose to say every human that's ever come to our island was from the same pack?" he hissed...

"Rampage, there was something we wanted to ask-" started Blade, the Rex cutting him off with a wave of a small clawed hand. "Come with me. You can ask about anything you like once we're back near the nest...sitting on the border is hardly a good idea if you want to discuss things in peace" growled Rampage with a smile, before turning around, leading onwards, her large tail swinging over the predators' heads as she turned, Blade subconsciously ducking his head despite the fact Rampage was easily tall enough for her tail to sail right over him, before following the female...

Selena trotted at Blade's side, while Alira followed more slowly.

"Creatures who can make caves float and travel in giant birds..." Aircrest began, thinking out loud. "I guess, to them, the world and everything on it is at thier mercy..." He hissed. He tried to find the words to wrap up his thoughts, but seemed to have trouble articulating them. After a small pause, he simply growled "Despite what ever attempt to control it...life finds a way?"

"True..." hissed Hellfire. "Have you ever wondered what was in that place Ripper lived when we were back home?"

"Has Ripper told you about that place?" hissed Hellfire, eying the Raptor, trying to read his expression...

"Ah, K" Aircrest growled a few seconds late. He was caught up in the memory. When he first wandered into the decaying building. Its rusted exterior was bright orange in parts, and a bright green caked its walls, like plants were smeared across it. Then there were the vines that creeped up its sides. The mystery of the place called to him. The grim secrets it held however... that were a different story. The image of the wrinkled lumps of flesh, vaguely resembling dinosaurs, suspended in the yellow/green fluids inside strange cylinders. Normally the tubes would look like the barely visable barriers that the cliffs and spires had on their sides, but they had stains all around them, dirt and splotches of dark green. Then there were the strange vines that were embedded in the flesh, holding up the folded creatures who Aircrest knew were long dead. The image always sent a chill down his spine. That, somewhere down the line... the dinosaurs were the product of the humans they despised...

"Ironic? I think its rather sad." Darkness growled, smirking, only partially joking. "I guess when you are the last ones left, there's no point in fighting." he continued, shrugging. "Besides, we both have enough enemies." he added, still smirking. As strange as it was...the dark raptor actually missed Sharpclaw...even though she was the source of all his hardship, or so he thought. Toward the end of her life, they were getting along well...she was one of the first he could call a friend. Scar was a different story: he was one of the few that the dark raptor respected. Although they only tolerated each other, Darkness had fought with the pack leader on occasion, and Scar's skill and experience were enough to make the dark raptor respect him...

Aircrest jumped the gap between the building he and Hellfire were on and the next, landing on the other side easilly. He could hear the water trickling. It was running through the alley...which means he was going downhill. The water flow would be faster and the depths deeper. The raptor wanted to find the patch of vegetation that he was smelling. The swamped out area served as good shelter last time the Velociraptor and Deinonychus were together

The two didn't say anything at first, simply staring at the trunk, unable to think of a good explanation. After the pause, Rhojis gave a half shrug, hissing slowly, "Kinda what Howler said... Is it weak? Would it crumble if you tried to climb it?"

Renegade was sleeping fitfully, having been out alone too much, and was tossing around in his corner, his eyes pinched shut, his face furrowed and scrunched together.
The sleeping raptor was squirming, when suddenly he leaped to his feet, snarling slightly. He thought he'd heard a loud crack; he walked around the room, looking for the cause of the noise, wary. Had he imagined it? Was it real, or was he dreaming?
He shook his head, trying to clear it, and crouched down, taking a deep breath. He told himself it was in his head, and looked out. He could see the other members of his new pack outside, staring at a tree. He gave a quizzical look, then hopped toward the window.
Stepping on to the edge of the windowsill, he jumped off, falling down a few meters and landing directly on the ground, his powerfully built legs mostly absorbing the impact. He started walking toward the others...
Clarity of thought before rashness of action...

Hellfire continued with the Raptor, his senses focused on his surroundings, the various scents striking him still strange despite them having been here for many days already, the eerie silence of the city discomforting, the place far from the rich wildlife of his home island, the miserable greys, browns, blacks and whites that ruled this place causing him to miss his beautiful green home. still, even in this wasteland, there were oases....and by the smell of things, they were likely approaching one such oasis at that moment...

Fatalis nodded. "The bark looking bulged, cracked strangely, bent and uneven is a sign that the surface of it is loose. there are countless causes for it, but the fact it's unstable is all you really need to know. it's harder to climb bark like that unless you're extremely light. a young Raptor or Compy could probably pull it off if they know how to climb, but nothing around our size...they'd drop like rocks if they tried" he hissed. he glanced towards Renegade as he left the building...

Before long, Aircrest was at the edge of the other roof, which was quite a shorter walk than the previous one. He leapt over the next alley and landed on the next roof. The raptor moved along it at a diagonal. The Oasis wasnt too far from here. He could see the greenery in the distance. In the water below, small trees poked above the surface, a sign that, in a few months, the entire area would likely become a swamp from increased over growth. The raptor grinned, and called out "Hey Hellfire, try to keep up!" before breaking off into a run. Just like before... a chase through the desolate streets, except this time, they'd have to keep to the rooves...
