Hellfire nodded, agreeing. "You're alot wiser than your age would have one believe" hissed the Deinonychus...

A smile flickered across Rose's expression. "Thank you...it's just common sense, really," she replied, not used to such comments.

"A gift many lack, unfortunately" hissed Hellfire as he turned towards the water, crouching warily to take a few mouthfuls of water, before backing away...

"And as we've already said, you're welcome to stay if you wish" hissed Fatalis, before glancing back at the other three...

"Hey, Hellfire?" Aircrest began with a growl, not looking up. "Im gonna go take a look around... leave you to catch up with Rose, K?" He finished, getting up and pivoting on the limb he stood on with ease, walking along the branch at first, before shooting off into a sprint. He wasnt really off site seeing though. In that instant, memories long supressed and supposed to be forgotten surged up to the surface, each little tidbit of his past dragging something up from deeper and deeper in his mind. He was wracked with sadness... but even then he wouldnt have anyone see him like that. Not even the closest thing to a friend he had. Hellfire was the only one who would see him out of the goodness of his heart. And the feeling was mutual for the raptor aswell, despite them both being enemies at one point. The raptor thought of Ripper. The wise elder who kept tabs on him ever since they met. He was probably second. Even then, Aircrest knew he didnt look forward to seeing him long ago, when he was teaching him. There was always that reluctant look in the elder's eyes, barely noticable, but Aircrest picked up on it regardless. Neither of the two would ever see him break down. They could say what ever they wanted about him except that they had seen him succumb to his accumulating guilt and sadness...

Hellfire nodded to the Raptors words, though he watched after Aircrest as he left, almost sensing something amiss, though shrugging it off as quickly as it occured to him...

The raptor dropped down onto the ground with a light patter on the concrete. He then darted off, towards the line of foliage that the young raptor had come out of. The leaves rustled as he passed through. Sorrow seemed to nip at him at all times, gradually working up to bite chunks out of his spirit. "No...no...no" the raptor thought, finding himself under the thin cover of trees. He was moving up a slope now, Rose's scent here. Had he been running the path she took? He left the thought floating in his mind, not caring where he ran. He had been running all his life, getting memories that he couldnt recall, burying the grim moments of his life...he might as well just burn out. Drop and give up his mad- perverse even, quest for redemption. Despite his best efforts, his past could not have been forgotten. The dark gray raptor with the stripes of blue that ran down her body, and peircing green eyes. His first love... the one who wouldnt stop haunting him. Abandoned long ago just as she confided in him, her dreams of the future. Dreams of a family, and settling down somewhere near the coast, where the air was cool and smelled of salt, and the sound of the surf could lull them to sleep. He cursed his own cowardice and selfishness ever since, forcing himself to stay in exile. Meeting various faces in his travels, making friends, friends who, like his mate, were left in the past. He didnt even know if any were still alive. The dark azure scaled raptor appeared in his mind... his friend, gone mutant and killed by his own claws. The raptor let himself drop, scraping across the ground but ignoring the sharp pain that his knees and hands felt. He was emotionally numb, and his body was following suit. There was no redemption for something like him. Darkness was right... he was a selfish waste of space, quick to rush into something. Alone since his first days of life, the only thing that mattered was his own well being- no, that wasnt right. He felt remorse...everyday he longed to run back and face his fears, longed for forgiveness, redemption. But it was ultimately sheer fantasy. His time had long gone. Was she still alive, the one who revealed herself to be Arisol? Would she remember him? Did she have another mate by now? Questions that plagued him, questions that were once buried away. His eyes clouded up as he assumed he only felt like that because he couldnt stand to know somewhere, he had crushed someone's spirit, someone who he once loved now hated him. He looked up to the sky, noticing that wisps of gray had started rolling in, slowly blocking the sun and sky. Another rain storm was brewing... he didnt need to head for shelter. Perhaps he'd get sick and go waste away in one of the human caves and do everyone "unfortunate enough to be part of his life", as said by Darkness, a favor. Just as the raptor's eyelids slid over the sad golden orbs, he heard the tap of claws against the unnatrual rock on the ground. He snapped his body about. What he saw was a dark colored raptor, barely visable in the shadows looking at him. Shining blue eyes studied him, while what ever sunshine penetrated the overgrowth revealed the raptor's dark brown body, white stripes running along her form. The two locked gazes for several moments, neither making a move...

Rose listened to the other raptor's swift retreat, cocking her head slightly. "He seems...troubled," she growled quietly.

Kronos and Lehra awaken after having been dormant for many hours. Kronos is the first to awaken, the Allosaur scanning the area of possible threats before nudging Lehra awake.

"I think it is time we get moving," Kronos growls. "I do not know how much time is left in the day, and that will make finding orion even more difficult."

Lehra nods and gets up to her feet.

"I hope he's alright," Lehra growls. "I wouldn't want him to get himself hurt or anything."

Kronos growls back to her, "Or worse........"

"Or worse." Lehra grunts back.

The two allosaurs resume looking for their friend, hoping he is alright.........

The silence continued, Aircrest wondering why the newcommer only stood there. He felt uncomfortable under her gaze, before realizing she probably saw what just happened. He bared his teeth, embarrassed and angry at the stranger. He was prepared to run off again when suddenly the raptor said with a soft growl "Aircrest...?" The raptor's eyes widened and insecurity worsened. Somehow this raptor knew his name. Come to think of it, she looked...familiar....but that couldnt be right. She was dead. Curdle told him so. That his adopted pack had all come down with some sickness and that she died. "Aircrest...it really is you!" The raptor barked, happilly. This made no sense to the Aircrest, who simply stared at the stranger. "I'd recognize those spots and stripes anywhere!" She called out, starting to walk towards him. A sudden panic overcame him. He shot back onto his feet and backed away slowly. "I thought I'd never see you again...your different from my memory...something at the back of my mind is telling me I should be expecting some joke or something rude...but you havent said a word since you saw me...maybe Im mistaken" She continued, somewhat hurt at the green raptor's reaction. Finally, Aircrest growled "...Hazel?"
The name brought up another blow from his past...

Rocket let out a bark, breaking the group's silence, other barks answering as the raptors returned to each other. Keeping low by an old human barrier. Rocket looked at all of them in turn; Sandstorm, Mirra, Blackfoot and Grapevine. The leader looked at all of them in turn, Blackfoot hissing quietly "No sign of them, but we're being tracked. Two mutants, big ones, they probably just want to talk, but understood not to interrupt us." Rocket nodded warily and growled "I see, where are they?" Blackfoot narrowed his eyes and smirked, hissing "Uh, there?" And gesturing upwards with his head, Rocket twisting to take a look, seeing two quilled heads looking down at them from on top of the human dwellings, dissappearing shortly after he looked up....

"It appears so.....he wouldn't be the only one" hissed Hellfire solemnly as he glanced towards where Aircrest had gone...

Blade walked onwards towards the Western edge of the island, in search of Crusher. Rampage had offered both his and Hunter's locations, but Blade decided Crusher would be a better choice, the Patriarch's experience with humans more likely to give them useful information rather than the guesses he expected Hunter might give, having only been a young juvenile at the time he was taken by the humans. after nearly an hour of fast walking, following the Rex's scent, the Rex was so close Blade guessed he would be visible if not for the massive human structures. taking a breath, the Allosaur let loose a long roar to get the Rex's attention...

Crusher stopped as the distant roar echoed through the streets. "You hear that?" growled the Rex as he glanced at Darkness, recognising the roar. there was no mistakening it. that was undoubtedly Blade...

Meanwhile, Hunter continued his patrol, walking along the docks, glancing around at the buildings, then out over the water. anyone with a talent for observation could see the longing in the Rex's eyes. he missed home, and worried about his daughter. she was, to his knowledge, still on Sorna, alone there aside from her mate, trapped on the island with Hunter's treachorous uncle, Nightshade. it maddened him to know of the threat he posed, and not having any ability to do something about it. the Rex grunted, glancing at the Floating Caves, a look of venomous hatred and contempt in his yellow eyes. he cursed the day the humans brought him and his family here. he would give anything to personally rip the humans who did it apart, one by one, piece by piece. even the pain of such torture couldn't compare to the pain of his fear for his daughter's life. he now knew, to a small degree, the pain his father had endured when he was young, fearing for his family's lives while running for his own, unable to do anything about it. it made the Rex wonder. would he be left to suffer the pain of his fears till the day he died? would he die with the dagger of uncertainty lodged in his chest? the Rex shook the thoughts off, focusing on his patrol. he was no use to what family he had here if he couldn't watch the borders of their home. the Rex took a deep breath, trying to clear his mind, the salty smell of the sea filling his nostrils, alongside other, less innocent scents. the Rex's eyes narrowed, glancing around, taking note of the direction the wind was blowing, looking upwind, taking note of the smell of a Carnotaur in the distance. snarling, the Rex walked towards it, intending to cut it's little stroll in the Rex pack's domain short...

Outside, Rainus landed on top of the newcomer, claws digging into her flesh. The female snarled, placing both her feet on the raptor's chest before kicking as hard as she could, launching him back several feet. Rolling to her feet, the newcomer had only seconds to sidestep another attack by Rainus, who had apparently recovered very quickly. Lashing out with a clawed hand, the female hissed loudly as the raptor's jaws slammed shut on the limb near the wrist, reacting quickly. Her other hand smashed into his upper jaw, claws digging into his snout before he was forced to let go, head jerking to one side. As Rainus attempted to lunge forward once more, the newcomer's hand swung back across the opposite way, back-handing the raptor, sending him stumbling to the side.

"Not so tough now, are you? Your lies keep you safe...and now they are all gone." The female snarled mockingly, smirking. Rainus' teeth were barred at this point, the raptor swinging back around, the female narrowly avoiding yet another swipe, lunging forward to counter, only to have her brother's shoulder smash into her exposed chest, knocking the air from her lungs. Pulling back slightly, Rainus lept into the air, lashing out with both legs, kicking the newcomer in the chest, sending her falling to the ground. Sliding a few feet before coming to a stop, the female rose quickly to her feet, beginning to breath heavily now. "And they say with age comes experience...I see only weakness." Rainus snarled, teeth barred in a manic grin. The female barred her teeth in return, charging the raptor, only to stop inches from a collision, lashing out with a clawed hand, Rainus stepping back to avoid the swing, only to have his sister's head smash into his chest, bowling the raptor over with the force. Not wasting any time, the newcomer lashed out with a leg, aimed at the male's thigh, Rainus rolling to his feet in the opposite direction, the foot smashing painfully into the pavement next to him.

Exploiting the pain, Rainus rushed forward, scoring a clawed hand down the side of his sister's face, who, in turn, dug her own hand claws into his chest, causing him to howl in pain. Rainus pulled his head back, smashing it into the newcomer's with immense force, causing them both to stumble back, momentarily dazed...

Darkness nodded, looking in the direction of the roar. "How...interesting." he hissed plainly.

"What do you mean?" the young female asked, turning her face towards Hellfire. She knew she couldn't really look at him, but it was a habit she had yet to break. Maybe she never would.

"Oh good...you remember" Hazel growled as the raptor before her stopped moving. His eyes betrayed bewilderment and shock however. Was he just as suprised to meet her? "I know...its been a while, huh?" She growled. Aircrest had fallen silent again. It made her feel uneasy. "Whats...wrong?" She asked with a soft bark. Now she felt pretty bad. Years apart, and when they finally meet again, all Aircrest could do is stare at her like she was insane. She was just about to turn away and walk off, when suddenly Aircrest bolted forward, touching his snout against her shoulder. "Your real..." He hissed, thinking "Im not crazy"
"Well of course Im real!" Hazel barked as he she stepped back, looking into Aircrest's eyes. They werent clouded anymore. Infact, they were almost glowing. He stepped forward, brushing against the brown raptor, growling "You dont understand, for all this time, I thought you died!" Aircrest snarled. He was trembling now, as if his emotions were too much to bear. Hazel stared past him, into the gray expanse around them. "Dead? I know its been a while...but...dead?" She thought. Thats when she heard Aircrest snarl under his breath "That damn b*stard Curdle went too far this time..." Her eyes widened. "Curdle" She realized. "There was no sickness...there were no deaths...I knew he got a kick from torturing me...but to lie about this..." Aircrest continued, still bracing against Hazel. She felt the pricks of the green raptor's claws against her skin. "He better stay away from me...this time he's gone too far...Ill kill him next time I see him..." He swore with a hiss. Hazel pulled back, and quickly sent a hand into his face, careful to make sure her claw tips didnt hit his snout. "Aircrest!" She scolded with a bark. "Ow..." He replied, rubbing his maw. "Since when the hell are you willing to kill your own family!?" Hazel hissed. "He isnt my family" Aircrest shot back. "Neither are you-" He added, stopping when he saw the female's expression. Her pain was etched on her face. "...Hazel" He growled in an apologetic tone. "Its...ok" she replied. "No point in trying to ignore that fact..."
"Hazel, Im sorry" He growled sharply. "I was just...angry... you mean a lot to me...for him to lie about you..." Hazel let a small smile creep onto her face and she barked "Im mad too...but...killing? The Aircrest I knew never vowed to kill anything other than food...has being a loner changed you?" Hastilly, Aircrest growled "Of course not! Im still the raptor that grew up with you..."

Hazel was probably one of the of the few things in his past he assosiated with happiness... just like his first mate. He already lost one, he sure as hell wasnt going to lose the other...

"It seems it's the curse of loners. everyone's alone for a reason. some much worse than others. Mine was that my family was slaughtered....and then when the time came to kill their killer...i realised i had become what i wanted to kill....crazed, bloodthirsty and a danger to everyone around me...and that alone made me incapable of going forward with what i should've felt needed to be done. My friend's story is still a mystery to me. but i know that there are many things he doesn't wish to remember...the one who killed my family....Darkness...he also suffered a life of pain. and every time he managed to get ahold of the slightest grain of hope for a normal life, something would strike to tear that hope apart, throwing him back into an insane rage" hissed Hellfire as he eyed the Raptor...

Blade continued walking towards the scent, rounding a corner and haulting, staring directly at the backs of the Rex........and a familiar raptor. "Crusher?......Darkness?" growled the Allosaur. Crusher turned to face him, his expression glum. "And there i was hoping that at least you might've escaped the humans...nice to see you're safe regardless" growled the Rex...

"Darkness...he's been through too much," Rose growled, shaking her head. "I wish life wasn't so harsh to him. He deserves better....maybe now, he has a shot at at least a semi-normal life." She felt herself blink. "Maybe this is like a second chance...for everyone who had it bad back on the island. A chance to start over for the ones who didn't have it quite so bad, and for the ones who did, a shot at living without having to always look over their shoulders..." After a second, she couldn't help but let out a tiny snort at her own words. "Or maybe that's being too optimistic."

"So how'd you end up here?" Aircrest growled to Hazel. "Im...not sure" she replied. "I left home, looking for someone to start a family with, when I felt this twinge in my back...like a bee sting" The green male flinched for two reasons. The thought of Hazel looking for a mate, and the impact of the darts. Aircrest passed a hand over the spot on his neck, which started to twinge at the memory. "Next thing I know, Im held in weird vines in one of the floating caves" The brown raptor finished. "You?" She asked. "...Same thing" Aircrest replied. "Save the mate part- that is" He added hastilly, chuckling weakly. Hazel laughed along with him. Aircrest smiled. His shooting gallery of a mind had calmed down, allowing him to regain his normal composure. Its funny how Hazel had that effect on him. He then caught something else...for the first time since he had been in this human hell... he felt happiness. Not the "spur of the moment" rush that he depended on, jumping gaps and tempting fate, but true happiness, connecting to another soul. Caring for another. The only other time he felt like this was when he was with Selena... but that was a mistake, right? Another product of his guilt laiden conciousness. Trying to get the forgiveness he craved by projecting Arisol onto the mutant look alike? He didnt know anymore... with all this confusion and bottled up guilt...maybe it'd be best to finally tell someone, and try to find closure before he lost his mind to his burdened soul....

"Blade." Darkness growled in greeting, turning to face the Allosaur. It had been some time since he had seen Blade...one of the few he didn't attack after his return...

"Hazel?" Aircrest growled. "Yeah?" Hazel barked. "Im about to head back" He finished with a bark. "Back where?" Hazel asked with a snort. "Back where I came" Aircrest replied, looking down the path. "I have someone who expects me back."
"I see" The female growled, looking down at the ground. "So this is where we split again?"
"Yeah...." Aircrest growled in response. "Unless-" Hazel's head perked up. "-You wanna come with me?" Hazel blinked a few times, then nodded. "Yes. I'd like that...I havent seen a familiar face here until now" Aircrest nodded. He was about to run off, yelling "Try to keep up!" Like he always would; but decided against it. He trotted off back to the flooded street, the blue eyed raptor following
