Smiling back, Silverstripe once again glanced toward the entrance, breathing in deeply as he saw the orange and white tom return. A very delicate matter...definitely going to be a shock. "Excuse me a moment." he meowed, turning and making his way back toward the fresh kill pile, where Thunderheart was calmly eating his catch...

Auburnpelt nodded, exchanging a glance with Flamesight, who had narrowed her eyes slightly. "This is going to be interesting," Fireflower's sister remarked quietly. "Though...it could go very badly..." "I hope it won't," Auburnpelt mewed, her heart beginning to beat faster at the sight of her mate.

As Silverstripe approached, the orange and white tom looked up, smiling. "Not a bad catch, if I do say so myself." he meowed, gesturing to his meal. "Yasurewhatever" Silverstripe responded, not exactly realizing his rushed words, Thunderheart raising a brow at the response. "Something wrong?" he asked, taking a bite of his meal. "Well...not really. Its good news...but I don't exactly know how you'll take it." the silver tabby explained, obviously choosing his words wisely. He knew that Thunderheart seemingly accepted his mate's fate, though he never once believed she was truly gone. After finally accepting such a thing, suddenly turning the situation on its head could be traumatic. "Ok...now you're scaring me. What happened?" the orange and white tom meowed, moving into a sitting position as he eyed the tabby.

Blazeheart, deciding to let his sister know what was going on, slipped off towards the medicine den. Inwardly, he rejoiced that his mother was alive and well. Outwardly, he worried that Thunderheart would be confused and angry when Silverstripe told him. Poking his muzzle into the entrance to the den, he mewed a quiet greeting and heard Demontalon's voice reply drowsily. "Did I wake you?" he asked, crossing to her side and sitting down. She certainly looked like he had, still curled up, head raised and blinking as if to try and wake herself up more. "Yes, but that doesn't matter," she replied, jaws gaping into a yawn. "I've slept long enough. To what do I owe the surprise visit?" The ginger tom bent to touch his nose to her tattered ear. "There's good news," he told her. "You know how we've wondered where our mother was, and if she was okay?" "Yes..." Her tone was a little wary. "Well...we don't have to wonder anymore."

"Well..." Silverstripe began, once again searching for the right words. "Shadowsoul brought another former clan cat back today." he continued, Thunderheart once again raising a brow. "Let me guess, its not that simple?" the orange and white tom meowed, sighing. "Of course not." the tabby replied, grinning. "And that cat was...Auburnpelt." Silverstripe meowed finally, not sure how his friend was going to react-
"WHAT?!" Thunderheart yowled, loud enough for the entire clan to hear. Silverstripe was left slightly stunned by the reaction, while Thunderheart was already on his paws, looking around crazily. "...Ow.." the tabby meowed quietly, shaking his head to stop the ringing in his ears...

Flamesight winced. "I feel bad for Silverstripe," she meowed. Auburnpelt chuckled, though her expression was concerned. "So do I..." Swift had jumped to his paws at the outburst, and now looked at Thunderheart as if he were expecting him to shout again. Lightstorm shot a bewildered look at Heatherpelt, who shrugged back at him as if to say she had no idea what was going on either.
"...Sounds like father's just found out what you were about to tell me," Demontalon meowed, getting to her paws and quickly leaving the medicine den, wanting to see this for herself. Blazeheart followed more slowly, not sure what was about to happen.

After a few seconds, Silverstripe cleared his throat. "Done?" he asked. "...Ya...I think so..." Thunderheart breathed, having practically worn himself out just from the reaction alone. "Shall we?" the tabby meowed, standing. The orange and white tom nodded, following after Silverstripe as they approached Auburnpelt and Flamesight...

Flamesight meowed with a touch of light humor, "You sure you can handle this, Thunderheart? You yowled loud enough to scare all the prey from here to the other side of the lake." Auburnpelt sat quietly, watching the orange-and-white tom approach with eyes that were filled with relief, love, and sorrow.

"Give them time," Flamesight purred. "They'll warm up to each other." Movement caught her eye. Demontalon and Blazeheart were walking forward slowly, as if the dark she-cat wasn't sure of what she'd find.
