"What a load of mousedung" Snowstar mewed simply. "If you can find the scent marker, then you should be able to smell the cats at the camp" He hissed. He picked up on another scent. Shadelight. His lips curled slightly in irritation at yet another who couldnt stay away. He resisted the urge to confront the black bengal about it during this little event. It could always wait until after...

Shadelight pressed herself more into the ground. Seeing Snowstar's hackles raise slightly, she had a feeling that he was very upset. She wanted to see what Wraith's response to the rogue's apparent distress. Her heart went out to the stranger, he seemed to be in a deep panic. When one is this scared they tend not to think things through completely.

"Shall I escort them back to the border?" Robinflight meowed, his question directed at both of his leaders.

"Precisely" growled Shadowsoul, catching the faint scent of Shadelight, the blend of herbs and grass mixed in that had been woven into his mind over the moons. he made a mental note to speak to her about the event afterwards, but made no sign to hint he detected it, maintaining his focus on the rogue and his 'family' at the moment. "The camp is easy to find, even from the border. and like i said, you'd've done better to wait at the border for a patrol to find you" he growled, haulting right in front of Adderfang. "such beliefs are signs of nobility....a shame there is nothing to support your word...it's as weightless as anything else you may say" he hissed, before turning away, sitting just in front of his clan mates. Shadowsoul glanced at Snowstar. "What do you think Snowstar? should we leave them out, or let them in? or perhaps, something in between?" he growled...

Suddenly Shadelight couldn't take anymore. "Excuse me," she mewed and walked through the brush her held high, as if she felt no shame in eavesdropping on the meeting. "But I couldn't help my curiosity." She stepped up to the rogue. "With all do respect Shadowsoul and Snowstar, I would like to accompany the rogue," she said. "If his story is true I could be of some help."

"If the she-cat is kitting, then she will need a place to stay. Her mate's idiocy could cost her her life" Snowstar replied. "I say let them stay for the birthing and some time after for the kits to open their eyes and walk. After that, they go back into the forest" He growled. Her turned to look at Shadelight. He wanted to bare his teeth in frustration, but out of courtasy controlled himself. These interuptions had gone from simple over anxious warriors to Wraith's mate

Shadowsoul's eyes narrowed as Shadelight moved in. he had hoped she'd keep silent, but her caring nature got the better of her that time. "Agreed, Snowstar. The rogue and his family will be allowed to stay until the kits can walk and see, and then they'll be sent out...provided the decision hasn't changed by then" he growled. "Robinflight, you, Hawkclaw, Nightclaw and Insolitus escort them to the camp and find a secluded place for them, prefferably away from the others until we can decide how to deal with them in the camp. Snowstar, it's up to you what you do, but perhaps it'd be best if you accompany them....keep an eye on them. Shadelight, if you don't mind, i'd like to talk to you in private" he growled finally as he stood, Nightclaw nodding, circling around the trio and preparing to escort them, discomforted by his father's tone at the end of his decision...he seemed perfectly calm, but something give him a hunch he was angry...

With a nod to his partner, Snowstar walked off from the spot, keeping a slow pace to stay near the back. If the rogue tried anything, he could easilly spring and put a stop to it...

Shadelight lowered her head and she shuffled her paws slightly. Sometimes she hated that tone that Wraith adopted when he was upset with her. Like he was her father instead of her mate. She shook her head furiously and sighed before walking to a secluded spot and waited for him.

Robinflight dipped his head, getting to his paws. He didn't like the decision to lead these rogues into the camp, but it wasn't his place to question his leaders. "Understood, Shadowsoul," he meowed, moving to flank the male. Hawkclaw circled around to follow the cats from behind and Insolitus walked beside the pregnant female, in case she'd need help. "This way," the deputy meowed, starting for the camp. Maybe it's better to let her rest and give birth, and then give her kits time to develop a bit, Robinflight thought, shooting a glance at the rogue and feeling a hint of irritated disgust. What an idiotic excuse for a cat...dragging his mate this far to beg for help when she should obviously be resting!

Wraith walked after Shadelight, gesturing for her to follow him as he headed towards the lake shore, preffering that place. the graceful, peaceful waters of the lake always calmed him, and would help keep his temper in check even in the most extreme occasions, so it was the ideal place to deal with problems without letting them blow out of proportions...

Snowstar's eyes slid over to his daughter, looking at her, concern evident in his expression. Was she scared? Did she want to talk about what happened before he showed up? He looked away. She wasnt a kit anymore...if she wanted to tell him anything, she would. He just had to make sure that he could be there for her. Same for his other daughters and sons. He thought about how quickly he got frustrated, assuming that the prospect of his daughter in danger combined with the rogue's obvious incompetance as a mate and parent got to his head. It made him want to wrangle his kits together and curl himself around them, not wanting them to think less of him as a father...

Hawkclaw caught her father's eye. Seeing his expression, she took a step towards him and let her side brush his as they walked, briefly pushing her nose into his shoulder fur. "What's on your mind?" she mewed softly.

The tom looked at his daughter and purred softly "We'll talk about it when we get back to camp. Duty comes first, remember?"

The dark tabby nodded, understanding. She stayed next to Snowstar, though, his familiar scent and the brush of his fur against hers making her feel safe as a kit again.

Shadelight sighed and followed alongside him, knowing where they were going. She kept her head at average height and walked with purpose. Her tail tip flicked back and forth with nervousness, but other than that she wouldn't show it.

once Wraith had reached the lakeshore, he started to walk along it, the sandy, stony ground crunching lightly under his paws with each step, as he finally spoke. "You surprised me just now, Shadelight" he meowed lowly, his tone kept in check, gentle and neutral for the most part, though a hint of discomfort could be picked up in it if looked for; a rare exposure of Wraith's inner feelings. something very few if any cats alive had ever heard. "I'd have expected a reaction like that from one of our kits...Nightclaw, Stormheart....Sunclaw perhaps. but to see it from you, an experienced Clan cat, a Warrior for several seasons...i hardly expected that" he added...

Shadelight sat down and started to wash her face before answering. "Yes, and I expected for an experienced warrior to be treated like one," she growled. "The poor cat was in trouble and none of you were going to raise a paw to help him!" Her tail now swished in the dirt with aggetation. "I don't care much for idiocy, when one is in a panic you don't think things through, what runs through your mind is to get help," she continued. "And he was obviously very scared and very upset." Her eyes took on a more determined glint and she raised her head higher to show she wasn't going to admit that she was wrong. "And if none of you were going to help them, then someone had to!" she concluded.

Soon the cats were back at the clan. Snowstar mewed "Hawkclaw, Nightclaw, lead the she-cat to the nursery and get her in a nest. Haze will take care of the rest!" He turned to Insolitus and mewed "You may find another duty while Shadowsoul and I sort matters out-"
"What in Starclan's blazes is going on!? Who are these cats?!" He heard Coldeyes yowl from a distance. "Robinflight? Do you mind explaining the situation to Coldeyes?" He growled...
