jumping at shadowsoul's voice AdderFang looked around and was just able to make out the outline of a cat "i wanted to know if, once again could me and my family stay in stormclan or at lest let the kits stay, why cloud even says she wants to be a medicine cat" he hen looked at shadowsoul hopefully.

"Our decision was made, and so it shall stay" Snowstar growled. "In times like these, the clan's security is of top priority. Threats are destroyed. Potential threats avoided..."

" 'Cloud' is less than a day old. As is your presence in our Camp. We are not so indecisive that our minds can be changed in a matter of hours, regardless of what pleas you may make for us to consider your situation. If you feel so strongly about joining the Clan, you will learn patience. in time, should we decide to give you the chance of being considered for the position of being Clan cats, we will let you know. But until then, you remain a rogue, as does your family. In the mean time, you'd be wise to emphasise to your son the importance of behaving with respect to the Clan while you're here....It will not help your case if he causes discomfort in the camp" growled Wraith firmly, the tom's eyes still closed, the tom's extremely sharp hearing telling him everything he needed to know about his surroundings without needing to trouble himself with the effort of seeing the cat that had entered the den...

Insolitus had retreated to a more isolated corner of the camp, unhappy and afraid of what might happen to him if he tried to move any closer to the Clan cats. His blue eyes were locked on his paws. Now what happens? he wondered, not daring to look up in case he met an accusing, angry stare. I only wanted to show Nightclaw and Hawkclaw some useful tricks...and I ended up being accused of leading them into an ambush. His eyes closed as he rested his chin on his forepaws, a quiet sigh escaping him. Sure, they have no reason to trust me...I understand that that makes them wary. But I would never want to put these good cats in danger.

Wraith glanced over at Snowstar. "Think Insolitus may have any hand in this?" growled the tom...

Nightclaw found his mind wandering during the patrol. thoughts of the incident earlier reached his mind. he had been quick to judge, but he feared a faint amount of momentary paranoia had influenced his judgement. he had been too swift to judge Insolitus as an enemy. he considered apologising to the tom when he returned to camp, deciding to let it simmer in his thoughts for a while until the patrol was over before deciding...

Insolitus found himself starting to think about where he'd go if he was made to leave the Clan. He probably wouldn't be able to stay by the lake, with StormClan making their home here. There would be too much of a risk of running into hostile Clan cats. He'd probably end up crossing the mountains...or maybe moving past the hills into the territory beyond them. He hadn't been there yet...who knew what he might run into there? It'd be quite the adventure.

"A better question would be, are rogues taking advantage of our hospitallity?" Snowstar replied with a growl. "I cant say much about things I dont know. I dont know those two cats well enough to judge...yet. I do say this. I do not trust, nor do I mistrust the trialed cats. I watch their actions to find their intentions. Should they give me reason to think they endanger the clan, then I'd have no choice but to take proper action." He mewed. "Im certain the same could be said about you" The white tom added shortly after, curling up in his nest and closing his eyes...

Wraith rested his head, pleased with the answer. Snowstar had answered just as he'd been expected to. the tom let himself rest, not daring to sleep completely, but allowing his eyes time to rest...the following day was going to be busy...The time to visit Earthclan had come...

not long afterwards, the Patrol returned, the more senior warriors in the patrol being left to report to Coldeyes and Robinflight while Nightclaw went towards Insolitus...he needed to get the guilt off his chest...regardless of whether Insolitus was a rogue or not, he deserved to know that he wasn't completely seen as a threat...not unjustly, at least. the tom approached the rogue, slowing from a trot to a fast walk as he neared. "Hey....Insolitus?"...

Insolitus' head lifted, one ear swiveling before his gaze found the younger tom. The gray tabby drew his tail closer to his side as he replied, somewhat warily, "Yes?"

Nightclaw sat once he had neared, trying to figure out what to say. "Um....I've...I've been wanting to talk about that little...problem that happened today" he meowed, having trouble putting the words together...

Insolitus nodded, pushing himself upright. "Alright. What about it?" he mewed carefully.

"Well..." started Nightclaw, not sure how to go on. "I just wanted to say...I'm sorry for accusing you so quickly" he meowed, looking down at his paws...

Insolitus was quiet for a moment, studying Nightclaw with his head cocked to one side. "You know...I am not like the rogues who prowl the forest outside your borders," he meowed quietly. "Not only because I was not born here, but because I'm not out to stain my paws with blood. I don't look at you and your Clan as enemies to strike down. I see my brief stay here as an honor...a privilege. " He glanced away for a moment, then looked back. "Apology accepted, Nightclaw. I realize it looked like I led you into an ambush, so your accusation wasn't completely unfounded."

Nightclaw lowered his head respectfully to the elder tom. a loner though he was, he had given Nightclaw no reason to distrust him. his actions and beliefs both pointed towards pacifism and a disconnection from the violence that ruled most rogues around the Clans. his choice of words and the names he gave things indicated he truly was an outsider, completely disconnected from the Clans and the troubles that surrounded them. but one thing bewildered him. "You consider staying with us....an honour?" he meowed, not quite understanding the tom's choice of words...

"I am an outsider, a stranger to you. To be allowed to stay here, even for a short while, is an honor," Insolitus meowed, dipping his head in return.

Nightclaw watched on, stunned by the rogue's logic of the situation, though understanding it to a degree after thinking of it from Insolitus' perspective. "There are too few forgiving individuals in the world....I'm glad you are one of them" meowed Nightclaw. "I plan to be on the dawn patrol, so if you'll excuse me...i'm going to have an early rest" he mewed finally, before heading off to the Warrior's Den...

The following morning, Nightclaw exited the den to see his father near the edge of the camp, looking out over the lake. somewhat curious, he decided to approach...

Wraith watched out over the dark waters, the ghost of the sun's light beginning to reflect off the horizon onto the waters from the east, tiny shards of light reflecting off and catching the black leader's amber coloured eyes, or streaking across his sleek black pelt, giving the onlooker the momentary sight of the leopard-like spots that hid within the darkness of the leader's lightless pelt. in daylight, the spots were readily visible, though in darkness, as the case was now, just before dawn, they were all but invisible when not lit by moonlight. above, the skeletal branches of the trees seemed to reach for the heavens, their thin finger-like branches grasping at the sky as if hoping to catch the stars that shimmered like gemstones in the heavens, collaborating with the moon to cast a silvery veil of light over the dark earth below. a chilly gust of wind swept through the camp, sending some dry leaves through it, some blowing past the leader and into the cold water before him...

Insolitus had nodded to the young tom and returned to his own nest. Now, he stirred and sat up. He began grooming himself, ready to greet the all-mother as he did every morning.

Hawkclaw was up early too, not because she was due for the dawn patrol, but because she had been on watch since moonhigh, when the cat who had taken the first watch had woken her for her turn. Beside her was Demontalon, who was staring out at the forest with a thoughtful, almost yearning expression. Hawkclaw sympathized with the injured black she-cat. Demontalon obviously wanted to be outside the camp, patrolling and hunting.

"The lake hold a lot of memories for a great number of cats" Snowstar's voice growled from the black bengal's side. The white tom had also woken before the light of dawn. He sat infront of lines of shrubs, staring out to the waves. Yes, so much memories were made at this spot. Like the mountains, the lake brought up fond memories of Hawksight. He and Loneclaw even had a duel out here, when the waters were covered in a frosty sheet. He cherished the event, despite them nearly falling into the cold water underneath the thin cover. Now there were new memories to treasure, his daughters learning how to fish, just as their mother had. Snowstar may have experianced true sadness in his life time... but the lake under the orange skies of the rising sun always reminded him of moments of true happiness...

Mudswirl's nose twitched as white and black wisps of fur draped over it. One of her eyes flickered open. The image was blurry for a moment before everything came into focus. She grumbled as she saw Riverstone's tail on her muzzle. She batted the tail away with a paw before closing her eye again. She stirred a bit, repositioning herself so that instead of lying curled up on her stomach, she was curled up on her side, forepaws tucked in. Just as she was starting to sleep again, the feathery feeling came back. This time it was on her cheek, occasionally tickling the inside of her ear. Mudswirl hissed as both her eyes shot open. She angled her head and nipped at Riverstone's tail. "Ow!" Riverstone hissed softly, getting to her paws and swinging herself about to face her sister. "What was that for?!" She growled. "Your tail was dancing around...on my face" Mudswirl mewed, head laid on the ground. "Sorry" Riverstone growled as she lowered herself back to the Earthen floor, swinging her tail about her flank. "Was just dreaming...about us"
"What do you mean?" Mudswirl mewed. "Us...you, me, Hawkclaw, Lightstorm, Fogcloud, father and..." Riverstone mewed, fur on her back quivering. "And...?" Mudswirl mewed, lifting her head slightly. "And...mother. Living together, happy as a complete family again. I miss the days of our kithood..." Riverstone growled, sighing. Mudswirl lowered her head. After a moment, she mewed "I miss mother too... we might have only knew her as kits but...well, we're adults now. Face it, we dont need Hawksight anymore. Sure it'd be nice to see her again but Im sure she's happy in Starclan, and as long as we remember her, she's never really gone. Now that Fogcloud's back...maybe we can be a complete family again." Riverstone blinked a few times, thinking about what Mudswirl told her. Her tail started whipping about again without her knowing. Before long, Fogcloud started grumbling. "Hey...cut it out" He mewed drowsilly, rolling onto his back and swatting at the air, trying to hit the offender. "I had... a long day yesterday... I dont want to wake up yet..." Riverstone's ear's pricked, and a smile crept onto her face. She lowered her chin to the ground, her tail following suit as it swept around her body. Fogcloud opened his eyes, eyes moving from side to side. "...Wha..?" He growled to himself, not exactly sure what had just happened to him. An irritated growl sounded off from a nearby cat, sleep disturbed. "...Sorry" He mewed sofltly, rolling onto his feet. He got up and groggily made his way out of the den, intending to catch himself with a little fresh air, maybe get something to eat. He poked his head out of the entrance, and felt the bracing chill of the wind. "Feels like Leaf-fall finally arrived." He thought as he stepped out into the open. "Joy"

"Indeed" growled Wraith in response simply. "I can remember some of my first days as a loner being at the shore of the lake...lonely days...but the lake provided solitude....peace" he added. as the sun broke the horizon, spears of golden light shooting out across the lake and the surrounding forests, Wraith stratched. "I'm heaing for Earthclan soon. I intend on taking Cloudhaze with me. Do you want to accompany me, or would you rather stay and keep an eye on the place?" he growled...
