"Such a noisy welcoming... is it really nessecary so early in the morning?" Snowstar mewed to the stranger as he sat beside Wraith, his pelt contrasting with the black bengal. He was calm and had a pleasent look on his face as he watched the other cats show them selves.

There goes my morning peace thought Wraith uncomfortably, unpleased that the calming sounds of his surroundings were broken so harshly. regardless, he glanced at the tom that spoke. "Nice to see there are other survivors of the Old Clans too. Earthclan, i presume? An interesting title you've chosen for yourselves. I don't suppose there's an issue with us speaking to Afrostar...is there?" growled the black bengal Leader, the tom's amber eyes focused on the tom, his senses razor sharp, focused on his surroundings...just in case...

The cat nodded. "If you've come here to try and take back your clanmates, you're in for a nasty surprise. Your kind aren't welcome here...I'm sure all of Earthclan would agree." he explained, 3 more cats appearing around him, each looking at the two leaders suspiciously.

"Free will is a virtue" Snowstar mewed. "If they wanted to walk amongst their old clan mates, they would have left on their own." He added with a growl to the cat. He then shook his head. "Such hostillities defeats the purpose of a diplomatic meeting...I'd adivse...stopping"

"If we'd intended to cause trouble we'd've brought a raiding party, not a diplomatic escort group. Our objective here is to speak to your leader. nothing more, nothing less. What your Clanmates' allegiences are is of no conscern to us. If they wish to come to us, that is their choice. and likewise for the opposite" growled Wraith. he wasn't given much hope for the Earthclan's future in the forest from this patrol leader...perhaps Afropelt...or Afrostar as he was now apparently known, would be more reasonable...

"Your goal may be diplomatic...but ours?" the cat began, once again smirking. "Regardless...I will return to the camp and consult Afrostar. These warriors will keep you company until I return." he explained, one cat looking at him as if he were crazy. "You're really going to listen to these Starclan slaves?!" it growled, unbelieving. The cat nodded. "For now." he hissed, before disappearing into the foliage...

Well, that was...informative, Swift thought, one ear twitching. So far things weren't looking too good. Maybe Shadowsoul was pushing his luck, trying to gain their allegiance.

Lightstorm's tail tip flicked back and forth, the white tom wondering if things would come to a fight after all. They're so against our warrior ancestors, he thought. We could find ourselves fighting for our lives rather than gaining new allies.

Wraith simply nodded to the tom, waiting, as he had since he arrived, right on the border. the accompanying warrior's outcry against them had caught his attention, the tom's amber eyes lingering over the cat for a few moments, as if considering the cat's potential to turn on them, before continuing to glance at various parts of his surroundings exploratively, silently gauging each and every part of the environment around him as a means of defense, or, considering the hostility he was seeing, possible ambush...

"Don't think about leaving so soon. That would be rude." one of the warriors commented, seeing the way Wraith was looking around. Although they were seated, the warriors were visibly on edge, trusting the newcomers as much as the cats trusted them...

Snowstar gave each of the cats a cool stare, corners of his maw curved slightly. His tail was wrapped around his paws, consealing unsheathed claws, though he displayed no sign he was ready to fight. He didnt like having to shed blood, but if given no alternative, he would gladly do it, for the good of the clan. He hoped Lightstorm was taking note of this, incase he became the leader of a clan...

"It'd be a crime for me not to enjoy the surroundings....Leaf-bare's coming fast and it's been a while since i went through here...i'd miss it if i didn't enjoy it now...though i don't expect a younger cat like yourself to appreciate things like that" growled Wraith with a smirk as he eyed the cat...

"Oh, we're playing the age card now? With age comes weakness." the cat retorted, fur bristling. "Don't let them get to you. They lie just as much as their false deities." another growled, scolding the first with a glare...

"With age comes the knowledge and experience it takes to work around weakness," Swift murmured, speaking for the first time since these EarthClan cats had shown up. His expression and tone were both neutral, bordering on an eerie blankness. Lightstorm gave him a sideways glance that he ignored.

the leader sighed, disappointed with the Earthclan cat's response. he was hoping for a more intelligent reaction. "How naive...It saddens me that you only think of fighting...You won't benefit your clan much if you actively aim for hostilities...You only further prove my point with your aggressions. I won't question your reasons for attacking our ancestors. I'm sure there was plenty of motivation for it at the time...but please, keep your opinions to yourself. We have no need to hear it" growled Wraith coolly...

The cat shrugged. "I was not speaking to you...not my problem if you overheard." it growled slyly, smirking.

Wraith shook his head, disappointed once more. were all of Earthclan made up of kits like this one? "Seems a mature mind isn't conditional for a mature body....how sad" growled the black Leader...

Swift cocked his head slightly, looking straight at the outspoken EarthClan cat. His expression was still neutral. "Why are you trying to speak to a cat who has the mind of an apprentice, Shadowsoul?" he mewed softly, even as he held the stranger's gaze. "He won't be reasoned with. He'll continue to act like a petulant kit in an attempt to anger us."

"You know...first impressions are a critical thing...and right now you should be thankful you aren't dead. This is our territory, after all." another cat growled, though its expression remained calm. The first continued to glare at the three, though they could smell the gradual return of the "messenger"...

"Indeed, first impressions are a critical thing. but a good impression is difficult to make when those you're trying to deal with already have preconceptions of you...right now, you seem to take pleasure in making things difficult, not considering the benefits you could gain from acting with courtesy. take my friend Snowstar here, for example" growled Wraith, keeping a pleasant mood, his tail pointing to the side at his counterpart...

Snowstar simply nodded, but said nothing, waiting for the meeting with Afrostar. His small smile was still on his face regardless
