one of the assistants helped Diana up and led her to the room to change, as the others moved around the room, checking various bits of equipment in preparation for Desh's work...

Diana took a deep breath and shook her head to clear it. She pulled on her clothes and stumble-walked to the door. She pulled it open and Thanatos caught her around her shoulders. "You ok?" he asked. Diana nodded, though she still looked drowsy. "Here," he said and leaned her against the wall. "This might pick you up." He bit his wrist then held it up to her mouth. Diana leaned down and took it into mouth and gently sucked.

Desh stirred only slightly breathing deeply in his sleep as Korso watched as Diana was awakened and released. He crossed his arm and sighed, his apparent nervousness from earlier showing itself once again. "Lets just hope nothing goes terribly wrong"

Nyx nodded. She hoped so too, she didn't know what they could do if he went out of control.

Diana finished with Thanatos and wiped her mouth of his blood. "Thank you," she said, now feeling more awake. Thanatos nodded and led her back to the observation room.

Once Diana was out of the room, Dr. Reeves gave the order to start on Desh. first thing to happen was for one of the assistants to bring several pads and place them at various spots around Desh's head, as well as over the heart and on the arms. then, a thin needle was inserted in one of the arteries going through his wrist, connected to a bag on a machine. the X-Ray machines and bioscanners monitoring his bodily functions were checked to make sure there were no problems. once everything was ready, the doctors began injecting the stimulant into the sedative mixture to start off the transformation, while the various machines kept a close eye on internal activities. whatever was in the heart and adrenal glands, they wanted a sample of for examination. that would hopefully be the first step to discovering what was wrong with Desh and curing it...blood tests would help show if there was any residual effects in the bloodstream, and brain activity monitoring would help pinpoint possible neural connections to the symptoms...

Drake watched silently, confident in Brimstone's staff's abilities...if anyone could pull this off...it was them...

At first it seemed the stimulant wasnt taking effect , but before it could be double checked it finally kicked in and Deshs' body began to mold into its lupine form. Korso sighed with relief, "All's going well then huh?" he smiled and then turned to look as Diana and Thanatos returned. "So how did it feel Diana?"

His heart rate spiked suddenly then died back down to normal as he stirred lightly. As it continued the transformation slowed... almost to a complete stop and suddenly all vitals were spiking, and the young werewolf began trembling in the chair as veins grew dark... turning black under his skin, all around his body crawling like roots and extending everywhere from his face and neck down to his feet.

Diana rolled her eyes. "I remember nothing beyond having something in my arm and "waking up" to find me sucking on Thanatos' wrist," she said. She suddenly jumped and pressed her hands to the window. She watched as Desh slowly transformed, then something started to go wrong, he was going too fast, everything was going too fast!! "What's going on?!" she asked, fear lacing into her speech.

Drake's eyes narrowed. "He's reacting....just like i hoped. now Reeves knows what it looks like. maybe he'll have a solution" responded the dhampir...

as samples of the black material entered the needle connected to Desh, and down into a recepticle to store it, Reeves gave the order to inject the inhibitor. immediately, a hissing sound was heard, a greyish gas being pumped into the mask via a needle connected to the green cylinder, forcefully reversing the transformation and dropping the inhibiting the activity of the tranformation to more easily monitored levels, Dr. Reeves watching patiently, the assistants anxiously moving around operating machinery. as he expected, the black material was whatever was in the heart and adrenal glands. but how it managed to multiply so fast was for now, a mystery to him. antibiotics were injected into Desh's bloodstream to combat whatever it was, but Reeves had a hunch they themselves wouldn't help calm the reaction down....thus...the inhibitor's use was shown...

Desh's transformation did reverse as it was supposed to, but the blackness continued to spread and even seemed to attack the location where the antibiotics were injected. It appeared that whatever condition Desh's body was in was irrelevent to the behavior of the chemical. The spreading took a step even further. It was becoming noticeable that black fluid was effecting cells all over his body, as skin on his arm and chest began turning black.

"Oh dear" korso said, as if they really needed a statement to understand that things werent going quite right, as they watched the situation unfold.

"Use the cellular relaxant. whatever this thing is, we need it under control. now" said Reeves, one of the assistants going over to a small cabinet and pulling out a small jar of clear liquid, flipping it and placing it in a brace that seemed made for it, the bottom of it having a thin tube, ending in a needle, which was inserted in place of the antibiotics, the liquid running from the jar, through the tube and into Desh's bloodstream, through the heart and pumped throughout the body, toning down activity in the cells of the body to minimal levels, in an attempt to slow or stop the spread...

Desh remained motionless as he was injected with the relaxant and it took a moment to kick it but finally the black stopped spreading, unable to manipulate the cells it was frozen in its place leaving a permanent stain of black skin.

Korso sighed heavily "Damn... that looked bad" he said turning to Drake. "So from here can they figure out the problem?"

Charles observed the city from atop a building he'd been hiding out on. The few people he spied seeming bothered with their pointless and pathetic lives. After a few minutes of spying he decided to climb the fire escape down to street level to see if he could charm is way into a meal tonight. "This should be easy pickings with these suckers." he thought to himself.

"They should. they have blood samples, x-rays, various other activity scans, brain activity, and a sample of whatever that stuff is, as well as some experience of how it behaves" responded Mike. "Let's hope it's enough to fix this....with the bad lighting in the room back in the safe house, you couldn't see just how bad it was....the fact it hasn't faded and left a mark is even worse" said Spencer as he eyed the Werewolf through the glass, the doctors preparing to clear things up, though they didn't dare remove the sedative gas yet. if by any chance that virus or whatever it was was still active and simply disabled, it'd run rampant the moment Desh recovered from the sedative. "It'll probably fade when the relaxant wears off. it more or less disables everything that isn't absolutely vital to survival, until the stuff wears off. whatever this stuff is, it's probably cellularly heavier than the rest of the liquids and materials running through Desh's body, so it loses it's easy transport" answered Mike...

Diana bit her lip nervously. She suddenly she started to feel sick. "Oh I don't feel so hot," she mumbled and stumbled her way to the chairs. "You don't look so hot," Nyx said. "Is there a bucket in here!?" She knelt next to Diana and rubbed her shoulders encouragingly.

"Come on. i'll show you to the bathroom" said Mike, leading Diana and Nyx out and rushing them to a bathroom down the hall. "Good thing she didn't eat" commented Spencer. Drake simply nodded, not completely with him, too lost in thought over Desh's condition to hear. in his 800 years of life he had never come across anything quite like that before. some that looked similar, sure. but with those symptoms and that speed? never...

Diana rushed to the sink and gave a few dry heaves, before coming up with mucas and saliva. Nyx shook her head with pity. "She's probably not used to anesthetics," she said to Mike, peeking her head out the door. "This could be awhile." Diana dry heaved again and spit what she came up with. "Oooohh," she groaned.

"take your time. the others will be waiting for you" said Mike simply, waiting outside, leaning against the wall, a low grumbling coming from his stomach. he needed to go get something to eat...eh. it could wait a few minutes...

Nyx smirked and closed the door. She walked to Diana and patted her back. "Guh, this is disgusting," Diana moaned. Nyx smirked again. "Rinse your mouth out, you'll feel better," she said. Diana did as bid.

All appeared calm, Desh's breathing having calmed down with the rest of his body, with no spikes in neural activity or heart rate. The situation must of been completely blown over by the time Korso stepped forward. "What are you thinking Drake?" he asked curiously noticing the dhampirs' blank stare. "A. You look like you've seen a ghost B. You might actually be surprised or C. You think you know" the preacher joked half-heartedly. He then sighed making a realization though he may only be jumping to conclusions. "... you're going to have him quarantined huh? That or some heavy security..."

Diana finished off and started back. Nyx tailing her. "He will do no such thing!" Diana barked as she walked in again. "Or so help me-!" Nyx rested her hand on Diana's shoulder and she led her back to the chairs. "You need to recover before you can help anything," Nyx teased. She left her there and walked back to her place at Drake's side. "You aren't going to do that, right?" she asked.
