There was a knock on Desrium's door, and for a while there was no answer. Another knock, and again there was no answer. Behind the door, a sigh was barely audible. Soon after was a clicking sound as Syria put her master key into the room's lock and turned. She opened the door a crack, peeking inside. She saw the armored figure's shadowy form sitting in the large burgundy chair that was now facing the window. "How strange" She thought, trying to reason why he would still have his armor on inside. Did he wake up early and put it on? And if he was indeed awake, why didnt he answer the door? The nerve! After all, she decided to give him a room out of her own kindness, and made it clear that he'd have to work for his room. She pushed the door open, pulled her key out and stepped in, the golden rays of the early morning sun shining through the window. It was facing east, so the shadows inside the room were cast off by dawn's first light. It was cloudy out, the sun visable through breaks in the cover. Perhaps the skies would clear up as the day went on, though rain was probably most likely. "I need to get him on the job early...wouldnt want to be outside if it rains" Syria muttered to herself as she looked out the window, putting her hands on the windowsill. She was wearing a white fleece shirt with puffy cuffs and casual black pants. She looked to the armored figure, his eyes bright in the direct sunlight. He was still and quiet, staring straight ahead and sitting back in the chair. It was...unnerving. "Desrium?" She asked at a normal volume, trying to get a response. When she got none, she raised her voice slightly. "Desrium?" She asked again. She raised an eyebrow, moving away from the windowsill and approaching him. She put her hand out and waved it infront of his crimson gaze. "Desr-!" She began to say, her voice cutting off when his red eyes abruptly met hers with a snap of his head. She swore she saw her own brown eyes in his pupiless eyes. "Good morning" Desrium said a few moments later, cocking his head at Syria. She had jumped back and was now bracing against the windowsill with one hand gripping the ledge and the other over her heart. "Did I...startle you?" He asked, pausing to find the right word. "No no..." Syria said breathlessly. "Im...fine" Desrium leveled his head, finding it hard to believe her, but did not linger on the matter. "Have you been...awake all this time?" She asked when she regained her composure. "No. You woke me as a matter of fact" Desrium replied as he stood up, the cracking of his joints muffled by his armor. "Its the strangest thing!" Syria said, stepping aside. "You looked as if you were perfectly awake, just still and staring out the window! When...when did you put your armor back on...?" She wondered, her eyes wide as she looked at the armored stranger. What a strange peice of construction his suit was! "As if I took it off..." Desrium replied mentally. He decided to evade the question. If humans were anything like him, one answer would just spawn more questions; questions he didnt know the answer to himself or would rather not answer at all. "I assume you came in here for a reason?" He asked. Syria's train of thought was suddenly derailed as she remembered why she came up in the first place. "Right right, I need you to do a little errand, and quickly. It looks like its going to rain today." She said. "Follow me"
Desrium did just that, walking behind the inn keeper without a world and closing the door once they left, the key still hanging from a shoulder spike.
