Vix tossed her head and pretended to glare at Arsenic out of the corner of her eye. "I should think not." Arsenic held up both hands for a moment in a gesture of surrender. 'Fair enough. I'll be sure to pick the entrails off my own clothes next time.' "You do that," she retorted, unable to keep back a grin.

Vix pushed her hair away from her neck and absently rubbed at a small beauty mark she'd had as long as she could remember, unknowingly exposing the beginning of a thick scar. It ran from her right shoulder, near where her fingers lingered, to her left hip. "How far d'you suppose it is from here?" she asked curiously.
