Warriors RPG (V2)

Postby Hopeflower » Thu Apr 14, 2011 11:11 pm

Post profiles in this topic only.

It is a time of peace among the Clans. Leaf-bare has finally loosened its hold on the world and newleaf is beginning again. The snows are all but melted, the prey is beginning to run again, and most of the normal Clan quarrels have been soothed by the warmer winds. But newleaf brings the danger of the river and streams flooding. Even now, the Clan cats must still be cautious...

The Rules:

- No powerplaying.
- No magic, or anything that would be impossible for a cat from the series to do.
- No killing off other player's characters without the player's permission, unless that character is anonymous, with no real details.
- No human vs Clan wars.
- No arguments will be tolerated.
- The age limit for any cat is four years at the start.
- Try to make your posts detailed.
- No cat armies. Small alliances between Clans are allowed, but no rallying armies to attack someone.
- Don't make the cats too human. Don't have them say things like "cool. awesome. 'sup." and instead of putting "cat said..." make it "cat meowed/purred/mewed/growled/snarled/hissed..."
- Cats can be any natural colors. (tabby, tortoiseshell, pale ginger, dark brown, gray...etc) NO unnatural colors like blue, purple, green, etc.
- No members participating in the RPG are allowed to have pre-made history with other members' characters without the owner of said character's permission.
- If you join this RP as a kitten, with the intent to work your way up through the ranks, you MUST include who the parents are.

All stats are to be submitted like this:

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Clan:
Rank:
Mate (optional):
Personality:
Description:

***
Other information:

The Warrior Code:

All Clan cats learn this code by heart during apprentice training.

1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
3. Elders, Queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
10. A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
12. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
13. The word of the Clan leader is law.
14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

The young tom's ear twitched in the breeze, laying still as a stone on a branch above what he considered home. Birds chirped around him, and the occasional rustle of the undergrowth told him that prey was near. In one smooth motion, the orange and white cat fell from the branch, twisting himself around to land on his paws, in a low stance, claws digging into the earth as soon as he touched the ground. Breathing out deeply, Firestreak sat back, calming himself. He had been testing himself like this for some time...after his self-imposed exile, he had nothing but time, and spent most of it preparing himself...

Shadowstar sat outside the entrance to the ThunderClan camp at the top of the ravine, gazing thoughtfully up at the trees that were just beginning to bud. She could still feel leaf-bare's bite in the chilly nights, but newleaf was here now. The birds were singing again and even now she could hear the tiny stirrings of mice and other creatures in their dens and in the forest around her. The wind brought with it the scents of growing things and warmer days to come. With a satisfied sigh, the black-and-silver tabby leader got to her paws and arched her back in a long stretch. It was always a relief to feel those first warm winds.

The once snow covered ground was slowly becoming a slush as the frost began to melt from the newleaf sun. There was a mound of dirt near the base of a tree that had a thick cover of the stuff. On one side of the mound, there was a hole. It was dug in at a shallow angle, a den. A ball of white laid near the entrance of the burrow, easilly mistakable as snow until it shifted onto its side, becoming a more feline shape, a paw draped over its snout. Melt water dripped off of the roof of the den and splashed just outside of the entrance. A few drops at a time fell, and it wasnt long until a few stray droplets splashed onto the cat's paw. He lifted the paw off his face, tired yellow eyes looking at the droplets that fell at a steady rate. The cat yawned and stretched out his body, extending his legs and spreading his claws. He looked into the makeshift den and mewed "Ferallion, wake up" There was no response from a barely visable gray cat that was curled up deeper in the mound. The white cat yawned again before getting onto his paws, moving to the other cat and then poking its side. "Wake up Ferallion"
"Morning is lost in time, it is not here yet...and probably never will be. I do not obey the sun, Tiberium" The gray one growled, his tone a blend of drowsiness and irritation. "Then I hope you like the water. The snow's melting and the water's going to be heading down here before long" Tiberium replied, a small grin on his face. Ferallion's green eyes opened, looking up at his brother. "Only you would be smiling at such a thing. You are incredibly cruel" He growled lowly, but he too was smiling. He also got to his feet and the two cats left their burrow, stepping out into the open, away from the entrance to the burrow. The trees were bare, and their ragged branches cast strange shadows across the land. The two cats sniffed the air, trying to catch the scent of prey

Firestreak stalked through the undergrowth, the area mostly devoid of snow, unlike the further reaches of the forest. A few moments of scenting the air told him that it was also abundant with prey...the exiled tom thought it a good idea to get his fill before Thunderclan ventured out to collect...

Cyclostar sat on his usual perch, where he had view of most of the camp, watching his clanmates go about their daily lives. This was an ideal day for him; leaf-bare was over, and the clan was without worry once again...

Spottednose laid in the middle of the ThunderClan camp, on his back, with his stomach to the sky to absorb the sun's rays. "Finally, some nice weather," he meowed, mostly to himself. He stretched his legs from his prone position and yawned. "Thank StarClan for newleaf..."

As Shadowstar padded into the camp, she took a long look around and allowed herself a low purr of satisfaction. In her time as leader, her cats had made her nothing but proud to lead them. They were courageous, fierce in battle, and loyal to their core. The young leader padded to her den and settled in front of it, wrapping her tail over her paws. The only thing that worried her about newleaf, as it always did, was the very real danger of the meltwater causing the river to burst its banks. If, or rather, when that happened, cats could drown if they weren't careful. Prey would certainly drown too. The Clan, despite the warmer weather, could still go hungry.

After having no luck finding prey in the still snowy regions of the forest, Tiberium and Ferallion made their way out of the forest all together, setting paw onto the clearing beside the river. The snow was mostly gone here, which Ferallion was thankful for. "I hate snow-slush," He mewed as he walked along side his brother, kicking his rear paws out occasionally to shed water from them. "Wet paws are not good paws." Once he caught sight of the large, flat rocks at the river's edge, he bolted and hopped onto one. He pawed at the warm rock and walked about in circles before finally lowering himself onto it, taking up the sun. "Its funny how you forget that I usually have wet paws when getting us freshkill" Tiberium growled as he sat at the water's edge, peering into the water. Ferallion was on his side licking his paws. A few minutes passed before Tiberium's paw shot into the water and just as quickly smacked a fish onto the shore. It was smaller than what he would normally catch, but it was good enough. He pounced on the flopping fish and clamped down behind it's head, snapping bones and killing it. Ferallion looked away from his paw to the kill. "This one's yours Ferallion. Think you can focus on something other than your paws now?" Tiberium mewed with a chuckle. "Just as the hungry fox does not play with its tail, brother" Ferallion growled as he rolled back onto all fours and leapt off of the rock before walking over to the fish. Tiberium licked his lips before returning his focus to the water. Ferallion began scraping off the scales of his meal with his paws, revealing the red meat they hid. Once he was done with that, he started to bite into it, ripping chunks of meat off of the small bones.

Shadowstar chuckled. "Ever the hard worker, Spottednose," she joked, spotting the warrior Swanfeather across the clearing. Green eyes met an idenical pair and the sisters shared a smile. Their eyes were the only thing that singled them out as related, as they looked nothing alike. Swanfeather had a thick coat of pure white fur inherited from their mother, Moonsong. Shadowstar had gotten her tabby coat from their father, Hawkeye. but both sisters had inherited Moonsong's leaf-green eyes.

Shadowstar simply chuckled again as she stood and began to walk towards Swanfeather, meowing over her shoulder, "Let's hope you're more awake by sunhigh. I think Falconflight wanted you for the border patrol."

A few more moments passed, and another flash of movement caught Ferallion's eye. He glanced up from the fish- though his jaws were still wrapped around its midsection- and saw Tiberium on another decent sized fish, swiftly ending its life and beginning to descale it. Ferallion finished taking the bite out of his fish and swallowed before mewing "Well done brother, your claws seek out fish like a hawk's talon seeks out mice!" He grinned. Tiberium looked up from his fish and mewed "Practice does wonders, does it not?"
"I remember when you used to fall into the water in the early days." Ferallion growled, lowering his head to take another bite of fish after. Tiberium lowered his ears and mewed sheepishly "That...was a long time ago." He pawed at the ground beside the fish. "Only thing worse than wet paw is wet pelt." Ferallion replied. "Cold wet pelt" Tiberium growled simply, biting off a strip of meat from his fish. "Cold wet pelt is worse." He added, his voice muffled.

"Cyclostar!" The sound pierced the stillness that surrounded the camp, the Windclan leader turning to see his deputy, Swiftstrike, approaching. "What is it, my friend?" the veteran cat growled, concern in his gaze. "Your...Tailwind has returned, Cyclostar!" the deputy responded, hesitating with his choice of words. Cyclostar's eyes widened. Tailwind was his only offspring, one who had left the camp after a falling out between them. The Windclan leader was both happy and concerned at this news. Why would Tailwind return now, of all times?

All that remained of the fish before long were the skeletons, the small bones tinged red from blood and mostly stripped clean of flesh. The scales were nearby, scattered among the area. Ferallion was resting on one of the river side rocks again, soaking up the sun while Tiberium was grooming himself at the water's edge, his body twisted about and his tongue was smoothing the long fur that draped off the side of his neck. It was a welcome change from them huddling together in the den, trying to keep themselves warm enough to make it through the cold leafbare nights. Though he was used to living like that by time leaf-fall came around. He and Ferallion would find a place out in the forest to set up their makeshift dens, stockpile as much food as they could and try to keep themselves alive for one more season of snow and ice. They would make jokes amongst themselves, about how they were born in a blizzard and how they were gifted by the storm. "We could survive the worst leaf-bare have to offer!" They would say. They would talk about how well off they were compared to how they were before, when they were younger. When they were all alone.

Tiberium stopped grooming himself and stared off into the water, peering at the deposites of small, smooth pebbles. "Even now, I miss them." He thought, his pelt bristling slightly. He always got like this when he thought of his parents. He tried to smile but only succeeded in curving the corners of his lips up just a little. "Look at you..spent so much time smoothing your pelt only to ruin it again..." He sighed.

Ferallion's green eyes were fixed on his brother, but he remained silent, the side of his face resting on the warm rock.

As the sun began to climb higher in the sky, Spottednose finally got to his paws and began to pace around, trying to get himself awake. He knew he was lazy when the opportunity presented itself, but when he had a job to do, he made sure he was ready to do it...

"Tailwind..." the old tom growled with a soft smile, beckoning the approaching cat closer with a flick of his tail. The newcomer had a smirk on his face, which unnerved the Windclan leader. "I haven't been called that in a long time, father." Tailwind responded with a hint of bitterness. "Oh? What do they call you now?" Cyclostar meowed lowly, shifting uncomfortably, but tried to remain impartial. "Arion." his kin responded, now right in front of the Windclan leader, the clan around them muttering to themselves. "I suppose one is entitled to change their warrior name after they've left the clan." Cyclostar growled with a friendly nod, trying his best to remain friendly, despite his true feelings. "Cyclostar!" another voice yowled, the old tom turning away to address the approaching warrior. "Tailwind...he did not come alone!" the warrior growled, eying Arion with distrust. "Tail-...Arion, what is the meaning of this?" Cyclostar growled, his friendly expression turning angry. Arion was smirking, slowly approaching his father. "What are you doing, Tailwind?!" the Windclan leader snarled, Swiftstrike and the warrior lowering themselves into a defensive stance. "Succeeding you...father."

Tiberium stared at his reflection in the river, as if he was trying to come to terms with his changes over the years. Were there changes? Or was he still the cat that was back then? His golden eyes were blank and seemed to stare past him. His black ringed tail wrapped around his paws. "The bird with the heavy heart cannot fly" Ferallion growled suddenly. Tiberium's gaze shot over to the cat lying on the rocks, one of his green eyes opened wider than the other. "Is something the matter?" The gray tom asked.
"No" Tiberium replied, forcing himself to keep eye contact with his brother, to seem like he was in high spirits like he normally was. Ferallion only stared at him for a long, tense moment, before suddenly breaking out into laughter. "The mole may be bad-eyed, Tiberium, but it knows when its tunnels have changed!" Tiberium sighed. He should've known Ferallion would have seen through his guise. Ferallion was beside him all his life. "What is bothering you, brother?" the gray tom asked. Tiberium took a breath and mewed "Do you think our parents...would be proud of us now? Proud that we have been able to handle ourselves for so long since..." He trailed off.
Ferallion's pelt bristled, and he growled "I hardly remember our parents, Tiberium. How should I know whether or not they would be proud of us!?" His green gaze shot to the side, looking to the other side of the river. Tiberium's gaze softened as he realized what was the matter with his brother. "You miss them too, dont you?" He asked. Ferallion snorted at first, but then said "Its been long enough. I shouldnt miss them, yet I do"
"You shouldnt try to forget them either" Tiberium growled. "As if I would forget my father and mother..." Ferallion hissed, closing his eyes. "Regardless, I dont know the answer to your question." He added.
"I shouldnt have expected you to" Tiberium replied. "Maybe I should just learn to keep things like that in my mind. So that we would never have to talk about this again" He thought.
Ferallion waved a paw dismissively. "You should smooth out your pelt. Only I look good with unruly fluff" He growled, changing the subject, which Tiberium was grateful for. The white tom began to lick his paws, trying to think of happier things.
