" MAKE WAY! MAKE WAY!" A loud voice boomed through the marketplace. instantly, aeveryone moved off to the sides as the two burly guards moved through the city. Behind them was the sobbing, dusty, and broken form of Dione, being dragged on the ground by the ropes in their hands. The people in th emarketplace simply watched, they knowing what th eprice would be if they dared go against the Emperor's orders...
All, except Lamia.
"LET HER GO!" Lamia screamed as she dashed from her stall to Dione's side. The daughter of the deceased pope looked up weakly, her eyes gazing upon her childhood friend. A small smile formed on her face, even though tears streamed down her face. For a brief moment, the two friends shared a moment of peace, a moment of tranquility... one that was short-lived, for one of the guards yanked on Dione's rope, bringing the girl back in line. The other guard grabbed Lamia by the neck before spitting at her face.
"If you know what is best for you, girl, then you'd stay out of our way. Get near her again, and you'll be treated as a traitor of Germania, and suffer a fate worse than death itself." The guard rumbled as he hurled Lamia onto her back. Dione, terrified by what was going on, tried to struggle out, but she was unable to as the guard moved off toward the colusseum. Lamia struggled back onto her feet, her eyes burning with anger. She cletched her fists as the guard smirked, before he began to head back. For a brief second, he could have sworn he had seen what looked like flames around her fists, but he blinked one, and they were gone. The guard went off to rejoin his pal on their way to the colessium.
"Damnit... DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT!!! WHY DIDN'T I HELP HER OUT?!" Lamia collapsed onto the ground when she got back to her stall. Now tears were in her eyes as well. She could have freed Dione, and murdered those guards to free her, but she hadn't... Why?! As she pondered this, the marketplace resumed all activity, with people nervously going from stall to stall to buy what they wanted. As Lamia cried, the shrewd businessman slowly approached her...

All hail the glory that is Tenshi, the Sunkern!
