"We would be no better than them if we simply smote them where they stood. No, it is better to allow room for change, even if that room is small. It is the only way to make sure of pure intentions. Speaking of pure intentions though, how did you come about protecting this planet?" Spinnerax went onto say, alien symbols running across the bottom of his vision as he prepared to record, store and analyze the dragon's response. He knew there must have been a reason for the numerous augmentations the dragon had, such as the jets and glowing core over his chest. He knew quite well what it was like to undergo such a transformation. What he didn't know was the reason why, though he had possible ideas as to the existence of the Sentinel...

"You and I are very much alike, friend" responded Horus calmly as he began to remember things he would have preferred to leave in the back of his mind. "Several eons ago, long before life formed on this planet, I was an inhabitant of a similar planet, known as Trefulcrus. It was massive, and rich in life of a far greater size than that which inhabits this place. I was one of the Guardians. a race of Super-Beings whose purpose it was to keep order amongst the lesser species of the planet. But my kind, like most who are granted immense power, slowly grew corrupt, until we could no longer serve our purpose. the planet fell into chaos as industry boomed, unhindered by protective laws that kept the world in balance, as competitive companies racing to create the most powerful, the fastest and the most desirable possessions for the ravenous masses that inhabited the planet" began the titan, the reflection of the red sun reflecting in his dull golden eyes...

"I have seen the aftermath of such events. Worlds whose life forms were long suffocated by clouds of poison." Spinnerax replied, already having an idea as to the dragon's presence on Earth. He had fled his doomed world, to escape the fate it was hurtling towards. How ironic was it that Trefulcrus met its doom not at the lethal ends of weapons, but by the strive for greatness of its inhabitants...

The Dragon nodded slowly, knowing the sights of which Spinnerax had spoken. it had happened to many species. "Within less than a century, the planet's natural resources were exhausted beyond any hope of recovery, and the biosphere so heavily poisoned that trees were being suffocated by the air they were meant to recycle, fish were burned by the sheer vitriolic state of the water they swam in, and the ground grew so barren that no plant could grow. the state of the planet eventually killed most of the creatures that inhabited it. as for the Guardians.....we are an immortal race, capable of travelling across the galaxy if need be. most of them broke into a brutal civil war that killed off all but a few, as each group blamed the other for the destruction of the planet. a select few...those ashamed of their own kin's greed, foolishness and short sightedness...like myself....left to find a new purpose for our unnatural lives. I found this planet in it's earliest days, as life had just begun to develop. It was then that I swore an oath....and vowed to protect this planet....to ensure that what happened to Trefulcrus would never happen here....whatever the cost" concluded the Dragon solemnly...

"So were you always...like myself?" Spinnerax asked, his drills slowly spinning as he did. It was one thing to be designed to travel between the stars...it was another to simply take to the heavens and drift to distant worlds...though it was quite possible. Countless creatures, mistakes of nature now roamed the silent expanse, most harboring malice in their tainted hearts.

"I came to this planet as a Biomechanical creature, if that's what you're asking. My space flight comes naturally, through the methods of my creation. My more visible mechanical augmentations are relatively new. They've only been on me for a few years. Between moments where my watch was needed, I would take periods of hibernation. My kind are immortal, but that doesn't mean we require no rest.....at least....until the humans captured me and turned me into this......abomination" responded Horus, his eyes narrowing as a shimmering flash glinted in the hawkish orbs. "It has it's upsides however...I have lost many of my greatest powers due to the humans' meddling, but the replacements serve their purpose well enough. I am still discovering which of my abilities I still have" explained the Dragon, the sclera of his eyes momentarily taking on a rich purple tint, the nearly white golden pupils glaring in stark contrast against the purple backdrop, before the eyes returned to normal. "Your attack on that island freed me of the humans' hold. Something for which I am grateful. Were it not for that strike, I would likely still be a slave to their horrible machines" he finished...

"The first battle with the golden hydra was a terrible one. It awakened a terrible power within myself that I had to release. I was intending to kill the monster. When I didn't, I felt as if I had needlessly desecrated your world. It is nice to know some good came out of that" Was Spinnerax's reply. "Rest assured that the task of eliminating the three headed one has long been completed" He added soon after, deciding that he shouldn't ask anymore questions. Who was he to demand the past of another, when he would rather forget his own?

"In doing so you both gained an ally and sealed the fate of an enemy potentially worse than any monster you may encounter. The earth will recover from your strike, in time. But had you not struck DHARMA as you did, the earth would likely be unable to recover from the damage they would inevitably inflict" responded Horus reassuringly, as questions of the wasp's own story drifted in his mind...

"When I swore to protect Earth, I thought its greatest enemy was the monsters plaguing the lives of the rest of the world's creatures. It seems these humans pose just as great of a threat to themselves and everything else down there" Spinnerax thought, turning his crimson gaze from the dragon to the planet below, letting what he had learned process within the electronic workings of his mind. "Tell me more of this DHARMA" The cyborg wasp messaged Horus after a short period of deliberation in the eternal silence.

"They are an organisation amidst many on earth. DHARMA was founded with the intention of maximising it's members' roles in mankind's service, regardless of field. all their activity is done in shadows. only those that are part of the organisation know they exist. since the increase in monster appearances across the planet, they opened a military division, with the intention to build a force capable of killing the monsters. however, with their increased power it's leadership's goals have changed. they now intend to use their arsenal against mankind in order to take control from nations and become the single standing authority" explain Horus, the first few lines being direct from the DHARMA data banks stored in his memory. "Unity is good. but DHARMA's intentions are not. under their rule the planet will suffer severely. many will die, human and otherwise. the damage this war of theirs would inflict would be irreparable. I was meant to be their ultimate weapon. Since they captured me they've been working to turn me into the ultimate weapon....or at least...their idea of the ultimate weapon. Had you not attacked when you did, they would have reinstalled the Mind Control device they used to control me. they had intended to unleash me against you and against the golden hydra. luckily your attack struck in time to make that plan backfire. as a result, DHARMA is only a small fraction of it's former power, and I've seen to it that they don't recover any time in the near future. My first objective after the monster threat has settled somewhat, will be to systematically destroy their bases, and then make contact with human governments to try and correct their treatment of the planet" finished the Dragon as he eyed a satellite orbiting below, his powerful vision allowing him to spot the DHARMA logo on the satellite's surface...

"Then this is good fortune that I appeared on that island then. Very good fortune indeed" Spinnerax responded, looking back to the black dragon. What else could be more effective in neutralizing the human threat than one of their own captives? At the same time, a small worry lingered within him. What if the dragon harbored more than righteous fury for DHARMA? What if his intent was to exact revenge on them? Power was a funny thing...once one saw the potential of it, it wouldn't take long for it to be abused. He didn't take the ancient being as a creature fueled by wrath, but he knew from experience what it was like to be captured and tampered with. He knew what it was like to be subjugated. His mind had been artificially expanded and sentience had brought in an overwhelming wave of thoughts and emotions, one of which was anger. It welled up within him, attaching itself to all his thoughts and actions. It had been long suppressed after he realized the dreadful effects it had on his abilities...

Kumongua rose back up, before the giant spider charged at Blight. The dragon howled into the air as he too charged.

The very ground seemed to shake at the two kaijuu collided with one another. Kumongua grunted as he tried to overpower Blight, but the dragon's strength was greater, as he managed to begin to push back the large spider. Kumongua began to panic, until he rememberd his little ace up the hole. The spider's abdomen swerved forward beneath the arachnid's body, allowing the stinger to pierce Blight's leg. Blight howled in pain as the venom began to seep into his body. Thinking fast, the dragon flapped his wings, leaping back away from the spider. Fire once more churned inside his mouth as Blight unleashed a horde of fireballs right at Kumongua...

Meanwhile, Bagan was swimming through the ocean, unknowingly on a direct course for Hawaii. The giant kaijuu's wounds were regenerating, but at a far slower pace than they were earlier. This was because regeneration took energy to perform, and right now, Bagan was low on energy. The land dragon looked around, hoping to find something to give him some more energy...

Infernus grumbles as he looks out at his beach home. He lets out a roar that goes for a few hudred feet across the ocean, before he begins to guard the borders of his territory....

Bagan continued to swim through the ocean searching for something to eat. His eyes scanned across the sea, ready to find his next meal.

Only, it found him first.

A sudden pain shot up through Bagan's leg as sharp teeth dug right into his flesh. Immediately, the swimming juggernaut whirled around, ready to take down his attacker. To his surprise, it was a giant sea serpent, about 100 meters long, with blue scaly skin and wiskers on its face. there were two short, muscular arms with clawed hands 1/3 the day down its body. along its back were sharp spikes, and it altogether looked suspiciously like a Chinese Dragon. Bagan bit down upon the serpent's neck, causing blood to spill from the wound. Manda hissed in irritation, letting go of its grip on Bagan's leg, while it lashed out with its sharp claws, drawing blood from Bagan's underside...

Blight's fireballs raced toward the giant spider, who leapt to the side, causing the fireballs to fly off harmlessly into the distance. Both foes stared off against each other, before Kumongua lowerd itself, preparing to spring. Realizing it's intention, Blight's mouth opened up once more, billows of poisonous gases rolling out toward the spider. Kumongua leapt upward at the last minute, effortlessly dodging the toxic cloud. He mentally sighed as he sailed over Blight's head. This was too easy for him. He could dodge that dragon's attacks all day while his venom did his work... all he'd have to do was-

It was then that the first fireball smashed into him from below. Upon impact,t he spider caught onfire, wailing and knashing its mandibles. then the second fireball blew up beneath him, and the third. Being consumed by the flames, Kumongua crashed into the ground, the red glow of his eyes going dim...

Meanwhile, far off in outer space, 10 million miles past Pluto, a wormhole rupture began to open up. A brilliant light emminated from inside of it that rivaled that of the sun, heralding the arrival of something... powerful.. something.. majestic.. something... diffrent.

The shadow of icy wings soon passes over the North, as Kori Kahn returns to his kingdom far away from danger. Tired but glad to be home, the icy king descends to the earth and rests....

"I've seen to it that DHARMA will not be a threat to anyone in the immediate future. their weapons systems have been all but destroyed, and their surveillance systems hijacked, now under my control to allow me to scan for planetary threats" added Horus as he drifted silently. after several moments, the Dragon decided to inquire. "What of you, friend? What is your story?"...

The celestial wasp took note of what Horus said, glad that for the time being DHARMA was inoperable. It was ironic how he managed to assist in incapacitating a threat without knowing it. "My story is a simple one" Spinnerax responded after a short period of thought. "I don't know what my life was like before I became what I am today. What I do know is that I...changed...drastically after I was gifted with the ability of complex thought. I was meant to be a weapon of war that pursued targets with the utmost obedience, but I renounced my purpose. I was fortunate enough to break free of my captors at a time when they underestimated what they had created; and since then I have been journeying across space. Many years would past until I found myself here, vowing to protect the sentient life that lives here. Sentience, as you know, is spread few and far between in the universe" Was the cyborg insect's explanation of his existence, though lacking several intimate details that he would rather not bring up...

several miles off the coast of Java, a large whale shark swam near the surface, it's large fin slicing slowly through the water like a knife. The water was calm, with minimal movement on the surface and only a gentle breeze in the air. As the aquatic animal swam on leisurly for a minute, the attack came, not from below or from the sides, but from above. Swooping down at great speed and with his beak open, Rodan snatched the whale shark up in his beak at it's mid section before pulling up, waves being made on the water beneath him due to the wind from his beating wings. Throwing his horned head back, the Pterosaur swallowed his catch whole before turning and flying off to the west, flying at mach 1...

Blight moved around the roasted spider, being extra-cautious. Back when he had been preparing to conquer earth, he had been sent into battle against many diffrent creatures to prepare him, and all too often, he had fallen victim to a monster playing dead on him. He lashed out at the dead spider with his tail, to see if it was still alive. It was only when Kumongua didn't react that he roared in victory. This was his first triumph on Earth, and although it was a minor one, it was still something of an achievement in his mind. He stepped on the giant spider's face, crushing it down. The slopes of Mt.St. helens would act as his main point of being. He would scout out across the land, yet return here every so often to rest and regain his strength. And right now,he needed to rest. The pain from his fight against Spinnerax was now almost gone, and Blight himself was resistant to poison, so Kumongua's venom was doing very little to him... The large dragon curled up once more, and fell asleep...

Bagan howled in pain, before he smashed his tail into Madna's side, swatting the sea serpent through the water. Manda, managing to recover itself, charged right for Bagan, only realizing too late what the glowing light from the beast's mouth meant. A powerful plasma beam cut through the water, vaporizing it as it gutted Manda through the mouth, and out its back. Blood and guts filled the water as Manda's eyes went cold, and its lifeless body began to sink. Bagan swam after it, managing to clamp down his jaws onto Manda's neck. This meal would serve him the precious energy he needed to keep up his Regenerative powers...

Fiery footsteps torch the beach, and the Smoke Clad King stomps into the jungle nearby, small animals skittering out of the way of gargantuan feet. Infernus scans his domain, looking for potential threats. Drool drips from the saurian's maw before hitting the ground with an audible hiss. It was only then did the truth finally dawn on him: he was trully alone on his island. He had managed to kill off the majority of the humans on the island long before the humans and their infernal contraptions watched every inch of the earth. Sooner or later, another creature would inevitably wash up on his island and fight him, and he would inevitably go and fight it, and maybe end up destroying more outlying cities.

Perhaps the dragon ws right: maybe he would, in the end, drive himself to an early demise.

Elsewhere, the kryll horde began the stir....

Kori Kahn soon arrives in his home in Alaska, beofre settling down again, folding his wings over him, looking like a large icy rock....
