Sammael was, to put it mildly, pissed off. Despite setting up an ambush further down the road, the Hellhound had no fantasies about still having the element of surprise. No doubt the wyvern had ruined everything, if it was even capable of speaking. Either way, he had a job to do, and he'd be d*mned if he wasn't going to kill them all before they made it another mile...

"I honestly don't know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult. Just do me a favour and remember that that scent is not food?" growled Septimus as he tilted his head back at Desrium, a scaly brow raised at the comment. as he passed over the edge of the cliffs, the idea struck him. Fresh Saltwater fish...always a treat...

"Tetto.....Do you think you could heal injuries caused by something like this?" asked Andruil quietly as he walked...

Teto'eko perked up. "Well, that depends. My healing magic is somewhat limited, but as long as this creature does not cause magical wounds that refuse to heal naturally, I should be able to handle it."

"I would not try to eat a friend" Said Desrium, the armored being patting the black and silver Hueilin on the back, as if trying to ease him of his worry.

"I should hope not" rumbled Septimus with a chuckle as he gazed downwards, eyeing a large dark shape. it looked about the size of an average human, maybe slightly bigger, and he was hungry, as was Desrium. gauging his situation, he guessed he could probably pluck it from the water, rip it apart and eat it long before the Dragon pursuing him caught up. and the left overs would serve as a good distraction in the event it got close before he could finish eating. "Hey Desrium, you hungry?"...

"Wonderful. I feel better already" said Andruil half-jokingly as he walked , flicking his wrist as his blade seemed to hum through the air as the man cotinued forward. the forest was beginning to thin again.hopefully this time tomorrow he would be at the gates of the Dwarven Kingdoms...or at least, the foot of the mountain range where they resided...

A deep, thundering voice suddenly breaks into Andruil's head.

"Yes, I am" Desrium replied, coming to the conclusion that his friend was going to make the most of their location and catch a fish. Little did he know about the creatures the ocean harbored, from the smallest bait fish to the leviathans of the abyss...

Noticing Andruil's sarcasm, Tetto'eko frowned. "I apologize if I can't perform miracles without the proper star alignments, good sir," he said flatly, though the hint of smirk was present on his scaly lips...

"Last I heard, stars move very, very slowly. So if your magic depends on the stars, doesn't that mean you're powerless? seeing as, well, specific star alignments can take hundreds of years to appear once and all. Powerless, or very very very very old?" asked Andruil with a sly smirk as he walked, though he was taken by surprise by the voice in his head, being particularly deep compared to Arsenic. Wait...is that the Wyvern's voice? he thought...

"Good. Hold on then. I see food" rumbled the Dragon as he began to descend, following the path of what seemed to be a large fish, the Dragon flexing his hook-like claws as he prepared to pluck it from the water, lunging for it after a few hundred feet, noting the fish was surprisingly fast. but as soon as his claws sunk into the creature's flesh, he noted it was much heavier than he had expected, while the creature itself suddenly plunged downwards, pulling Septimus out of the air with it. The next thing Septimus knew, he was underwater, being pulled downwards, latched to the back of.....a Sea Serpent. the beast's serpentine head curved round to stare Septimus in the face, a sub sonic gurgle coming from it as it's large needle like fangs glinted in the light, Septimus' eyes widening, his cyan pupils lighting up brightly as his patterns flared to life, the Dragon spreading his wings widely, his massive wingspan and the sprawling patterns startling the beast as Septimus let go, the creature bolting off, disappearing in a matter of seconds as Septimus rushed upwards, gasping for breath as he broke the sea's swerving, twisting, churning surface. "Damn....That was bigger than I expected....You alright Desrium?" rumbled the Dragon...

Into the dark Desrium drifted down, his scarlet gaze on the shimmering plain over him. The dark silhouette of his friend grew smaller and smaller and the memories of that first day crept out from the recesses of his mind. The pull of the angry sea, the murkiness and the white froth. This...was not like that. The water was calm, letting the armored being feel a sense of weightlessness as he sank. He felt the strange tightness in his throat as he descended to the bottom, but other than that he was fine. He turned his gaze from the surface as he neared the cover of sand and rocks, his soft landing kicking up a small cloud around his feet. Long, thin clusters of vegetation undulated around him, giving off a dim yellow glow that did little to light up the deep. Desrium reached for his bag, but instead of hanging off his side like before, it was trailing off behind him, snagged on a shoulder spike. He grabbed the bag and pulled it down, his movements slowed greatly. He then looked inside, noting that the map he carried had been ruined. The ink was smudged and distorted, the detailed illustrations becoming blotches upon wet parchment. Desrium gripped the compass that was floating around his neck, flipping it open. While the needle spun about lazily, it seemed operational still. Glad that Syria's gift was fine, Desrium turned his attention back to the pressing issue. "Well then..." He thought as he looked back up to the world he knew, the familiar image of the sky warped and the light of the sun skewed...

Tetto'eko frowned. "Now hold on a minute! Astromancer is far more complicated than that!" he chirped indignantly. With a dismissive wave of his clawed hand, he added, "Ah, you wouldn't understand. You're too young. And yes, I AM very very very very old. Thank you for asking." The Skink smirked back. "You're a child in my eyes..."

Arsenic picked up on Andruil's confusion and gave the slightest shake of the head, guessing what it was over. He'd felt the slight buzz in the back of his mind that usually meant another being was communicating telepathically, somewhere close by. It was a little irritating, but easily ignored after he first noticed it.

Desrium turned his sight downward from the teal expanse overhead, drawing a blank as to how he was going to get back up there. He started to walk forward, lifting a leg slowly, a trail of dust forming in the wake of the movement. Pushing off of the sandy floor with the other, Desrium found himself almost gliding through the water. It took him by surprise as he floated forward before his leading foot came back to the ocean floor, another cloud rising. He sprung forward with the step, using more force than before to propel himself. The armored being swung from side to side with his seemingly weightless stride, trying his best to keep himself upright as he went. Dim light rippled across the seabed and small fish shot out from the dark haze that surrounded Desrium, promptly disappearing back into the shadows with only a line of bubbles marking their passing. The world beneath the waves was far from lifeless. Just out of sight was the realm of its many inhabitants...

Nitsunobue grumbled, seeing his inquary was not answered. He, however, had no problem with that. He would simply follow the vibrations of their footsteps from below until they needed to rest... then, he would make sure they stayed safe.

"Desrium?" rumbled the Dragon, craning his neck over his back to check for the armoured being, finding nothing. "Well that's just wonderful" growled Septimus, as he dove downwards, moving his powerful tail, his wings tight against his body as he moved them forward, spreading widely as he beat back, driving him forward in conjunction with the fins along his tail, diving downwards towards the bottom. he could see a cloud of silt and sand beneath him. with the armour, odds were Desrium sunk to the bottom...

In the distance, four unnatural eyes watched the group slowly approach over a slight rise the rise extended over. Sammael hid to the side of the road, carefully avoiding brushing the foliage around to prevent giving away his position. He saw how many there were, and decided on a less direct tactic to take them out. Wounding them, slowing them down, and hit-and-run attacks would be most effective here. The Hellhound's muscles tensed in preparation for the first leap, as soon as they neared him...

After one last push, Desrium slowed to a halt, returning back to the sea floor with silt billowing up from below. He peered into the shadows, wanting to get his bearings, but was only able to make out vague shapes swimming through the deep and the miniscule glow from the reeds. He began to focus his attention on his sight, knowing that he could see what was out there. His eye sight became much more acute when he resorted to his primal instincts, so maybe there was a chance he could tap into that potential at his normal state of mind. His concentration seemed to have an effect, his eyes flashing brightly a few times. For each flash, the light was brighter and lasted longer. His eyes took on their ominous red glow soon after with new found intensity. They were brighter than they had ever been and cut through the veil of darkness ahead him for several feet. The sudden burst of illumination would have been faint to Septimus, but noticeable nonetheless. It was noticeable to the other sea creatures just the same...

"The name is Mara." The half-demon replied, bowing down to show respect to Burzum. " Um, may I please speak with my master for just a moment? It will only take a quick second..."

AKuro looked back at Mara, wondering why she was here. She should have been stationed abck at Tristan, to oversee what was going on there. The only reason why she would abandon her post and rush over here would be if something had been thrown into the mix of their plans... something unforseen...

Burzum nods, being surprisingly understanding.

"If you insist, Mara. We have all the time in the world."

Burzum soon lumbers back to his throne and plops himself down.

As they neared the ambush point, Andruil noted the runes across his blade had begun to grow brighter, and his own senses began to give him uncomfortable vibes, the hair along Andruil's neck standing on end. He eyed Arsenic, silently questioning him whether he was the only one who felt it, his hand wrapped tightly around the grip of his sword as it lay in it's sheath...

The blue water rippled and churned as The Dragon powered through it, his eyes narrowed as he eyed the faint flashing on the ocean floor. It was definitely not natural. Desrium? possible. As he approached, the grey-purple tint of the flash seemed to grow clearer, turning out to be red, Septimus pushing towards his friend, knowing that that shade of red was likely The being's eyes, though he had long given up on questioning how it was he was able to do such with his eyes, as Septimus himself would have trouble explaining his own abilities to those who didn't know his arcane nature. A current suddenly drove the Dragon off to one side, his eyes widening as he powered himself in the opposite direction, driving himself to the sea floor and clamping his claws shut around a collection of coral and rocky outcroppings, The Dragon glancing around for the beacon-like flash, freezing as he caught sight of something strange. A few feet away was the edge of a rocky cliff-like formation, dropping sharply from the depth they were at to unknown places below the surface of the ocean. And in the distance....light. hundreds...possibly thousands of golden lights collected around what looked like a series of rocky spires from here. What was it? thought the Dragon, deciding to find Desrium and then return to investigate, The Dragon turning and looking carefully for the reddish glow of the entity's eyes, swimming towards a faint glint not far away, the current kicking up too much silt for him to see clearly...
