Yes, TT...

Just slew Fatalis, after 5 quests in a row (On of them being a failed Bow run). Hilariously enough, the kill went to my cat, who threw a bomb on it's leg right before it could spew a fireball into my face. I am now officially nicknaming my cat "Lutienant Snuffles"!

Bowser: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we now come to the match of the millenium! In one corner is the young Ruler of the Distortion World, Giratina! In the other corner, is a beast whose very name causes the most skilled of hunter to weap in terror, Crimson Fatalis! Place your bets on who will come out on top!

Gira:How many of the other Elder Dragons have you killed? You need to kill ten of each, including Fatalis, to unlock Crimson Fata.

Um, i don't think that's needed, IK. I finished all the Solo Training Quests at the Training School, then went up to HR 6, then took on, and eventually killed, Fatalis. And now, I'm dealing with Crimson Fatalis... If I had a camera on me, I'd take a picture of me fighting Crimson Fatalis, and send it in here as proof... I think the 10 of each is for MHF2...

Gira:I believe you. It's just that I haven't checked what's needed to be done to unlock HR6 Crimson Fata in MHFU.

In MHFU, you need to slay Black Fatalis. That's the only requirement.

Saying I got my *** handed to me on a silver platter would be a MASSIVE understatement... Those damn meteors...they completely wrecked me apart... that, and I forgot to bring Steaks for the hunt...and Cold Drinks.

rofl. you think meteors are bad, try lightning. As one man so eloquently put it:

"Lightning never strikes the same place twice. The problem is it strikes FRIGGIN EVERYWHERE!"

that includes half an inch away [game distance, not screen distance. basically right next to the spot] from a previous strike, so standing where one bolt hit earlier is not a guarantee of safety.

I DID try lighting already (I downloaded the Big Daddy Quest and tried it before doing normal Fatalis). Needless to say, 30 minutes in, I was dead, and White Fatalis was rampaging around in Armor Lock Mode...

Currently farming Normal Fatalis for Webbing... breaking the wings is alot harder than I thought.. atleast nailing him with the Dragonator every 10 minutes feels oh so satisfying...

slam the gate down on his back. also satisfying to see those spikes drive their way into his spine.

Shoot him out of the air with Bastillas. It's hilarious to watch him fall flat on his face.

yeah. especially with his tongue just flopping about the way it does.

They try to make him out to be imposing, but when you're good enough to be able to make him squeal in agony frequently, he turns into a rather comical boss monster...

Its more satisfying when its 4 people shooting explosives at him. One giant explosion and he screams and falls on his face.

That was pretty much the strategy people used back in the first MH game. They always used Cluster shots on him like they did when bringing gunners to fight Lao.

It was the only way to fight him back then, yeah. As for Lao, it was usually 1 or 2 gunners, a few GS/SnS/Lances on the head and maybe one guy hammering his crotch. Back then the hammering job was easily the most dangerous, as getting stepped on even with superior armor was nearly fatal. And that TAIL. It was known as the bane of newbies because when he left an area and they tried to run back to the entrance the tail would trap them in an endless cycle of hits until they died.

According to an FAQ I read, it was at one point possible to kill Lao in Area 4.

Well, consdering I tend to fight him with only my cat as a companion, he IS still intimidating, especially with that ominous sky and theme playing in the background... Sometimes, I can have picture perfect runs on him that end right when the clock hits 25 minutes, and other times, especially when i try to bowgun him, I get 40+ minute nightmares that jsut NEVER SEEM TO END!

I STILL hate that tail even now, cuz if I don't dive at the right moment, I get WOmbo-Combo'ed. Of course, If I can avoid that and the wind pressure from his feet, I can usually kill him with the Narga Hammer with 3 minutes left (High Rank Guild) Of course, I have purple SHarpness on that, but still... Still trying to bet brainstems, because I don't want to have to wait until G-Rank to try and get the one thing EVERY hunter hates most... Heavenly Scales.
