I'm not sure what to think about the new "The Thing". Not sure if its worth seeing or not. They use CGI, and if the previews are anything to go by, they make it more like a generic monster. The thing that made "The Thing" (lol) scary was the fact that it could be anyone. When it was found out, THEN it turned into a hideous monster, scared everyone, then left and the cycle began anew.

Did all the Epic Hunting Quests available up through Rank 8 and slew G-Rank Lao twice. Plum Daimyo Hermitaur is STILL a jerk, but he's manageable... Have yet to get any of the THREE Heavenly Lao Scales that I need... This is going to take a LONG time... and I can't wait to get kicked 6 ways across Minegard by Copper Balongala...

TT: I saw the movie just yesterday, and it is actually really good. Don't worry, the monster is consistently disguised almost immediately after it wakes up. One big guessing game through out the film, really. It was a little more fast-paced, as well, and the alien looks AWESOME in every form it takes when it reveals itself (not quite as disturbing as the animatronic version, but still bada** all the same). And, of course, it does a very good job at tying in with the first film, and it even has a few references, though they're subtle enough to make sure those unfamiliar with the first movie still enjoy themselves.

Also, crazy Twilight is best Twilight.

Good to hear. Still disappointed that they didn't use animatronics though. After watching John Carpenter's, I didn't trust my dog for a week

Pretty sure its g-rank commendations. IE Lao, Gao Ren, etc.

@ IK: I've got "Bl-Bl-Bl-Blangongas!", "The Sleepy great Forest", and "A Shogun tastes like?..." to do still. I plan to make a new armor set (still using Hypnocatrice and Azure Rathalos set), but I'm not sure if I should try to make the Monoblos armor or Ceanataur armor.

Nice. I'm using Full Akantor armor gemed to have Earplugs (Which, while usless against Gravios, Diablos, Lao, and Fatalis, to name a few beasts that require High Grade Earplugs, re still very useful, especially against Los, Ian, and Narga) and am up to 501 defense. Just grinding Narga and Lao to get the weapons I desire, befor I clear the rest of HR 8 and deal with Cthulhu-erm I mean Yama Tsukami...

He's easy with a Gunlance (I'm using Luna's Flare on him). Just wait until he's preparing to strike, then nail him with a Sonic bomb. Topples him over and gives you a good opportunity to attack, but once he gets up... he'll be TICKED OFF. That damn Tail Slam still messes me over at times (WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT HAS TWO DIFFRENT HITBOXES?!?!), but aside from that, he's sorta easy....

Sicne I can't upgrade my Balongala LS without making it cruddy, it seems like I'll have to find a new Longsword... Kushala Longsword, AHOY!... I just have to get a Daora Jewel first... damnit!

Already have it, but once I get the Shadow of the Moon Longsword, then I don't need it anymore... plus, it's only RAW damage, not ice damage...

For some reason, I'm now swimming in Mellajine (SP?) ore... I combined some of it and got True Armor Spheres... which I cannot use until I beat Akantor's older brother that got frozen on an igloo by a dimension-travelling entity...

Eh... you can TRY it if you want... but I neever really had that great sucess against Narga with a longsword... It's better to use a lance against him... aside from his tail, he can't get past it... Best to use a Longsword with Evade +2, or with one or two Pitfall traps and plenty of Sonic Bombs...

Uka is a LONG ways away, especially because I'm planning on upgrading my Fatalis Longsword and TDS before fighting Uka, and the former's going to take a LONG time...
