Desrium sank to the bottom without interruption. His landing did not kick up any silt or dust, the floor was completely bare except for the discolored vines wrapped about large rocks and lodged within nooks and crannies like eels. He looked up as Septimus entered, his underbelly clearly lit by the light from the studs in the plants. Looking directly ahead, Desrium saw that there was yet another tunnel leading to what could only be another chamber. There was no darkness to be had in the entrance. It was flooded with both water and light, the source seemingly at the other side...

Septimus was in close pursuit of the armoured being, his wings held tight to his body as he rippled his tail ever so slightly, driving himself further down into the pool, the water wrapping round the Dragon's figure, filling the void left in his wake, light reflecting off every surface, the shimmer of the copper tinted vines turned silver by the blues of the water and of the cyan glow of the Dragon's wings and fins. The coolness of the liquid seemed almost perfect. Were he ever to stop his travels, he would hope to find a place even a fraction as beautiful as this to make his home. Below, Desrium's crimson gaze swept across the stony walls of the pool, the Dragon approaching as the tunnel sprawled out before him, the light illuminating the pool reaching out from beyond...

Desrium started towards the beginning of the large tunnel, the hole in the stone being wider than the wing span of his Hueilin companion. He went with his slow, drifting movements at first until Septimus was just over his head. Jumping from the bottom of the pool, Desrium was able to grab onto the dragon's forearm, his hands wrapped around his wrist and his body trailing off to the side as he was pulled through the tunnel...

Against all evidence to the contrary, Tetto'eko's mood had actually improved by the time the Skink exited the Shadepines. "Well, that certainly could have gone better," he remarked plainly. "It reminded me of the forests of my home a bit, actually..." His cloak had been torn in several places as well, and a suitably traumatized Mordecai clung to his shoulder, shaking like a leaf. Amazingly, the catlike dragon had somehow survived the journey unscathed, by virtue of the fact that he had simply hid throughout most of it. Creatures as large as humans or Elves seemed to be the preferred prey of the forest's foul denizens...

Alecia took her final step towards the loner sentry. The man stood lookout for his small camp of three or four expoditionaries. Alecia silently unseathed her Blood-red dagger, cupped a hand around the man's mouth and slit his throat, red mist flying from it. The young assassin slowly dropped hte body onto the ground, and left him their. Blood still dripping from her blade, one of the men called to the sentry.

"Eh, Atlas, you better come look at this!"

She froze ,wisps of her cherry-red hair falling over her face.

The Dragon swam forward through the crystal clear water, no silt or sediment to speak of as his tail rippled lightly, propelling him through the tunnel at a steady pace, the Dragon soon reaching the end...

Rays of light, refracted through the water shone down from above, running along the forms of the Scholar and Blood Omen. The chamber at the end of the tunnel was large and much deeper, the stone floor dipping down a considerable distance from where the tunnel gave way to the pool. Near the top, a gentle incline formed, the vines extending through the tunnel spiraled around the cavern and created a thick wreath rim just below the water's edge. These vines were even more discolored than the others, a startling mix of sapphire blues, emerald greens, coppers, amber and golds and orange. The studs in the plants here were much larger, protruding from the vines as crystalline barbed wire, sharp edges pointing every which way. The cave seemed increasingly dangerous the further the two ventured...

The moment the man stepped out of his tent with a burning torch, Alecia fluently rolled backwards and sent her dagger at the man. The cruel, razor-sharp impliment impaleing the man's neck. Unforunately, he yelled out loudly in pain, alerting the two other men. Alecia began quickly thinking what she should do, escape and leave the artifact? no, that was unacceptable.

In stead she waited for both men to burst out of their tent, both of them armed with steel swords. The moment their eyes landed on their fallen peers, Alecia snapped the neck of one man, with a violent crack. She attempted to slash the other man across his back, but he was too fast. The obviously skilled swordsmen thrust at Alecia, and knocked her dagger aside. The attacker finished his movement by tripping the assassin, and pinning her to the ground, his blade at her throat.

"Who the hell are you!" Demanded the enraged man.

as Septimus moved further into the crystal cavern, his shimmering cyan eyes scanned the walls and floor exploratively, noting the shape of the surroundings as he drifted through the tunnel, gradually edging further downwards to explore the bottom, deciding it best to see what was below before investigating what lay above. the sparkling light of crystals and his own patterns reflecting off the stone and crystalline floor and walls around him danced back across his and Desrium's forms, dancing shards of light in a silent waltz deep within the stone cave, the shades of light only given a further shade of surrealism as they reflected off vines, a few of the writhing plants almost iridescent in their magically reflective and colourful nature, lances of rich gold, deep, lustrous blue, brilliant green and soothing cyan and turqoise light crossing through the water in a dazzling display of supernatural beauty...

As Septimus dove to the depths of the chamber, Desrium began climbing up his side, hoisting himself along his forearm before situating himself on the Hueilin's shoulders. The parallel between the air and the water did not escape him, he was practically being flown through the pool. Its skies were bright and decorated with all the colors of the spectrum, blending together as a visual orchestra. Such a sight was hidden away underground where most creatures wouldn't lay eyes on it, were the dragon and armored being the first to see the wonders of the cave?

The deeper they went, the more apparent it was that there was yet another tunnel, this one heading even deeper into the world...

Arsenic let out a low telepathic sigh as sunlight touched his face. 'That feels good,' he murmured. A nasty-looking bruise took up a good amount of space on the right half of his face and he was walking with a bit of a limp. Vix hardly looked better; the cut on her own face had opened at some point while she rested and despite Arsenic's offers to clean the wound, she'd refused to let him use up water they would need. She was clutching her shoulder too, where her shirt had been ripped and was stained with dried blood, as if the wound there was causing her more pain than she would admit. As Aviva and Zar circled lower to land safely, it was clear they'd had their share of trouble too; Aviva wouldn't put weight on one foreleg, the wing membranes on both dragons had suffered damage, and Zar kept one coal-black eye tightly shut.

As Septimus descended, he began wondering what else lay in store for them beyond. streaks of what looked like some form of ore lined the walls, resembling layers of marble, though they were lit with a rich creamy white glow, lighting up the depths and highlighting the tunnel. the familiar feeling of being energised by the surroundings struck him, a wave of nostalgia striking him as he remembered home. Encouraged, he pressed onwards, reaching the entrance to the tunnel and proceeding to enter...

"It seems you have" responded Andruil as the wyvern emerged from the forest. beneath the scales of the beast, Andruil was certain it had taken quite a pounding. It was impressive to see that whatever damage it had sustained, didn't show through. "Question is...Can we be sure you will remain on our side, this time? My comrades are tired and injured. We are not prepared to restrain you should you decide to turn on us again" he added. looking back at the ancient forest, he clenched a fist. "This forest has caused us much hardship. We need water to clean our wounds, and medicine or magic to heal them" sighed Andruil as he looked at his comrades and the two Dragons accompanying them. They had fought well, and had covered quite a distance. He didn't wish to put more strain on them. Ahead, the path broke off not far from the foot of the mountain, leading to a village on a riverbank. It was just outside their path, but at this point it seemed they'd have no choice. His armour had protected him from any major injuries, though he was bruised all over beneath the layers of protection. His companions however, had suffered quite a bit more, lacking the added protection, and would need to have their wounds cleaned at the very least...

The increase in mana was noticed by Desrium as well. So much power resonated in the area that his crimson gaze was starting to shift, the inner most regions of his pupil lacking eyes becoming a light purple in color that began creeping out to the edges. The mixing of colors was almost unnoticeable with the lights shining around him and the dragon. The vines that gripped the walls down in the passage wrapped around crystal nodes, large shards that glowed bright white, practically emanating the magic. The enchanted vines seemed be drawn to it, taking in the life giving energy and transferring it throughout the cave system. In turn, they were all morphed, becoming nearly unrecognizable this far down. If the magic managed to extend out into the jungle, part of it- if not the entire region- could be transformed by the raw power...

Aviva snorted a puff of smoke, tucking her injured limb against her chest. Up close it was clear that somehow amongst the fighting, something had managed to break the bone. Added to her injuries from the earlier fight with the wyvern, the dragoness wasn't exactly in top form. Her kind were fast healers, but even that didn't mean broken bones were the same as a gash. Another fight could prove her undoing. Arsenic wasn't straying far from her side; he had his hand lightly held against the black dragon's side, concerned for his old friend. 'I agree,' he said, glancing at Vix. She nodded tightly, face paler than normal. Zar, standing a little way away from the group, had a nasty gouge scoring above and below his eye, but as for how damaged his eye itself was, there was no way to tell until he opened it. The red dragon suddenly seemed small to Vix; he seemed dazed, as if he'd taken a blow to the head. Or as if, she suddenly thought, it was the first fight he'd ever been in.

Nitsunobue nodded to Andruil.

"I have problems, as you can guess. But I in control now. I will do as much as I can to protect you from danger. Even if it mean I die in process."

The wyvern soon approached the others, but at the same time kept his distance. Despite assuring the supposed leader of the group of his dominance over his mind, he honestly wasn't sure if- or when- Anarchy would take over again...

"I have some healing magic," Tetto'eko piped in. "We will need to find a place to rest first, however. I am in no condition to heal broken limbs and deep wounds at the moment." The Skink Priest was powerful, but the convoluted weather patterns as of late--most of it magically created--was preventing him from tapping in to his full potential. On top of that, he had used quite a bit of magic to fend off the beasts of the Shadepines throughout the journey...

Jiier's eyes opened suddenly, the simian's head turning to look back into the cave, seeing that his new acquaintances were indeed gone. Getting to his feet, Jiier tossed his staff -which had been laying in front of him as he meditated- further into the cave. The simian was suddenly engulfed in a bright light, the shining silhouette of his form expanding, taking a new draconic shape. Now in his true form, Jiier took a position in the center of the outcropping at the mouth of the cave, where he had the most room. As the dragon stood motionless, his eyes closed, the air around him became energized, the fur on his reptilian body standing on end. Eyes springing open, the outcrop began to quake beneath Jiier, the dragon's lips raised to reveal razor sharp fangs. Bolts of energy began to snake around the dragon as he struggled, occasionally striking the rock around him, leaving scorch marks in its surface. Pulling his head back sharply, Jiier's eyes were engulfed in blazing energy, giving them a solid white color, as he bellowed into the heavens, the sound rebounding off the canyon around him, echoing for miles. The dragon was engulfed in a blinding golden light, many times brighter than the one that signified his first transformation. As the light died down, the trembling rock finally lay still, and Jiier was again transformed: his normally dark gold fur was now blindingly bright and nearly twice its length, each hair looking razor sharp. His scales were almost blindingly bright as well, showering the canyon in light. The dragon was surrounded by a golden aura, which pulsated like a roaring flame. Jagged bolts of energy shot across his body continuously, trying to release some of the energy that was now at his disposal. The dragon's eyes, which had normally looked focused and calm, were now unruly and primal, as if ready to snap in an instant. Jiier maintained control, however, the dragon clearly fighting his nature as best he could in such a state...

A sudden surge of energy made itself known to the armored being, whose purple eyes were now on their way to becoming a rich glowing blue. The power came along the vines, traveling down from the world above and into the pool, enriching the already magically charged water. The Blood Omen, compelled to seek out the source of the mana discharge, shifted his weight on Septimus' shoulders and started his descent in the corridor of stone. Kicking his legs as he sank, Desrium pushed himself over to the wall of the tunnel, grappling onto a vine and then anchoring his feet against it. The armored being then proceeded to sidestep across the tunnel, gripping spaces in between the small crystal studs embedded in the tendrils he used to support himself. It wasn't long until the armored being found a smaller chute with rugged rocks at the entrance, the passage neglected by the crystalline growths save for a few dimly shining cracks in the sides. His eyes flashing and casting the dark away, Desrium started to climb while his draconic friend was left to his own devices...

Jiier bounded off the outcrop, gliding like an arrow to the opposite side of the canyon. The dragon smashed into the rocky surface with extended claws, immediately rebounding off, flipping head over tail in mid-air before plummeting toward the ground like a gleaming boulder, wings pressed tightly against his back. Extending his wings as he neared the bottom, Jiier leveled out gracefully before turning sharply upward, using the momentum to spiral back up to the top of the canyon with a roar. Energy began to collect around the dragon's horns, a blazing stream of golden energy spewing from his open maw as he twisted, slicing across the cliff face a few tens of feet from the mouth of the cave, the attack sheering through the rock like a knife through butter. Ceasing his assault, Jiier spread his wings and soared past the mouth of the cave to continue his maneuvers...

Desrium was just at the end of the shaft. The darkness that cast a deep blue sheen on the surroundings was suddenly obliterated by a sudden brightening. The crystal filled cracks in the stone suddenly expelled a blazing white light, bombarding the armored being with energy. His maw parted as he released a deep and muffled bellow, bubbles rushing forth. The Blood Omen practically clawed at the sides of the shaft, forcing his way upwards. He realized that the task grew harder and harder, as if his strength was failing him, despite the amount of power he felt rushing through his metal shell. His eyes, blue and shimmering, betrayed the amount of mana that he had absorbed. The wings of light extended as he clambered to the surface, which was also blindingly bright.

Desrium's arm burst through the water and his gauntlet slammed into the rock at surrounding it. With a great deal of effort, the armored being rose, a primeval rumble leaving his throat as he emerged from the very pool he and Septimus had entered, despite being several feet below in the catacomb of a cave just moments before. The gleaming waters were even more vibrant now, as if lightning was caught below and desperately and violently wished for release. The shadows cast were harsh and flickered unpredictably...

Desrium started towards the entrance of the cave with slow, staggering movement at first. His body swayed as if he were suddenly too weak to even stand, much less walk. As he took one more step, the armored being drifted from the ground. He rose into the air, knees bent and suspended in a mana fueled field of energy comprised of every color of the spectrum. Sparks of magic leaped off of his armor and were caught in the field before dispersing, reabsorbed by the Blood Omen...
