Septimus noted how smoothly he descended as he hit the water, plunging in several dozen feet like an arrow thanks to his sleeker form, before levelling out, the Dragon smirking as he pulled his limbs tightly against his body, before rippling his tail, shooting forward swiftly thanks to the large fins that now tipped his tail, and the long fin membrane decorating his tail and back. He found manoeuvring through the tunnels and caves of the underwater caverns noticeably easier, the Dragon surprised at how easily he had taken to the vast changes his body had gone through. Smiling, he wondered how the reaction would be to his new form...

It was only a couple of minutes before the Dragon emerged on the other end of the caves, leaping from the pool in an explosion of water before landing with a thump on the cave floor, the water steaming off his form as his runes shimmered, a surprising amount of heat being generated by the Dragon. He turned towards the curved 'hallway' in the cave that led to the entrance, walking towards it calmly, though listening in on the events. he sensed a new presence was there, in addition to Jiier and Desrium...and it was not an unfamiliar one...

The green head gave the armored being another short bow, while the others were all looking deeper into the cave, Jiier's attention drawn as well.

Septimus' emergence from the water was preceded by his altered mana signature, an anomaly that caught the armored being's attention as well. Desrium's gaze shot back into the cave, almost not recognizing his Hueilin friend as he approached.

As Septimus stepped out of the shadows, his eyes fell upon the Hydra, the Dragon immediately tensing up. He was somewhat reassured by Jiier's presence, but it did little to minimise the inherent discomfort the Dragon felt. "I suppose it goes without saying that I found something in the caverns" rumbled Septimus with a smirk as he spread his wings, revealing the satchels on his flank in case there was any doubt as to who he was...

"Seems like it," Jiier growled in response, eyeing the other dragon's new form warily. The hermit had lived in this very cave for nearly a hundred years, but he never ventured very far into its depths; and for good reason. "Your power has increased," Chromatus' obsidian scaled head stated suddenly, Jiier giving the hydra a strange look.

"This is not your magic at work. Or that of this place" Desrium added, compounding the ebony head's observation. His ability to understand his own inner magic seemed to affect the way he perceived magic outwardly...

"Really? I thought It was just something I ate" responded Septimus to the Hydra with a curved brow. "You have quite a bit more than water down there, Jiier. Though I'm assuming you already knew that from the glow" rumbled the Hueilin as he stepped forward elegantly, his gaze settling on Desrium. "Indeed. It is neither" he confirmed as he spread his wings just enough to give a clear view of the wings' shoulders, revealing the new runes decorating them...

"I consider it my mistake, not warning you and your friend of what lay below. Though I must say it seems to have worked out for the best for you," Jiier responded, his tone serious, the dragon slightly concerned.

"You met another" Desrium said simply upon viewing the new patterns. Their intricate nature and the power radiating from them was far beyond Septimus' magical capability, as the Blood Omen knew. The influence of a great magic user clung to the Scholar like an intoxicating aroma, which Desrium took into himself. "Did you leave them down there?" he asked...

"Indeed it has, my friend. And for that, I thank you. Your hospitality may well have saved my kin from disaster" growled Septimus with a smile as he eyed the Dragon. "For now. He will be waiting for me outside soon" explained the Hueilin as he eyed his friend, his smile taking on a slightly sad hint. "I intend to go home. To face my father, and to settle a score. Do you wish to accompany me?" he rumbled...

Deep beneath the cave, the earth rumbled lowly as the tunnels sealed themselves off from the outside world, magical seals burning into the stone barriers briefly before fading as Thurduunax secured the Mana Well from invaders. He silently wondered whether he'd ever see it again. His obligation to his clan was great, and if need be, he would have to sacrifice his duty here for the greater good of his kind...but this place could not be left without it's own protection....and he would see to it that this place was impenetrable...

Jiier gave Septimus a respectful nod, while Chromatus remained still and silent, eyeing all three of them with his many heads.

"We have been through a great deal in the short time that I have known you. However, for this task I would be a burden in my current state" replied Desrium, glancing over to Jiier before looking back to Septimus. "There is much that I need to learn and I will need time to teach myself, so my place will be here."

"Then I will return once my task is complete" rumbled Septimus lowly, nodding to the armoured being, then to Jiier and the Hydra, his eyes glaring white for a few moments as a jar of honey, the Zuppoland book, a book on social and cultural norms and a chunk of Vitorite floated from one of the satchels, landing in a dry corner of the cave, settling on the dried grass, moss and dirt that made up the floor in that spot. "These should benefit you in my absence. Perhaps when this is all said and done, we can continue our travels unhindered by heavy hearts and minds" growled the Dragon with a smile as his eyes faded, the sclera and pupils reverting to black, leaving the shimmering cyan rings that were his irises as they were. "I wish there was some way to compensate you for this, Jiier. You've done much for me, and for Desrium. I will not forget that" he rumbled. As he headed for the entrance, flexing his wings, he added "...I will be sure to bring back something of use to you when I return from my homeland". Giving a final nod of respect to the trio, the Dragon beat his wings, leaping off the edge of the platform extending from the cave as he took flight, circling round one last time to glance down at Jiier, Desrium and Chromatus...

"Compensating a hermit," Jiier growled with a chuckle, watching the dragon drift further and further away. Two of Chromatus' heads did as well, while the others prodded the items Septimus had brought out before he left curiously.

"It is his way" was all Desrium had to say to the shape-shifter, averting his sights from the sky. For 800 years he had existed on Aster yet he had no memory of the centuries past. For the first days since his return from the sea, he pondered the days of old that evaded his recollection, but recently such thought had not crossed his mind. He knew now he was shunned by the world since the very beginning of his life... but after meeting those he had, such a fact seemed to be of little consequence.

He sat down on the rock ledge in the shadow of Chromatus, returning to his inner study...

Jiier was again engulfed in a blaze of light, reverting back to his simian form. Walking past the distracted Chromatus, the shapeshifter took a seat near Desrium, returning to his own meditation. In a few silent moments, the outcropping was bombarded by torrents of wind, the shadow looming over both meditative figures disappearing. Despite the gust of wind pushing against him, Jiier did not stir, because he did not need to. It was obvious Chromatus had left, but for what reason, he did not know.

Shortly after Septimus took to the sky, a massive shadow streaked over the cave entrance, plunging the area into darkness for a couple of seconds as the silhouette of a massive Dragon flew over the canyon, a loud thump and a powerful gust of wind washing over the cliff face punctuating it's appearance as the powerful form of Thurduunax rocketed into the distance after the younger Dragon, a trail of steam in the Dragon's wake as what must've been gallons of water soaked into the huge Dragon's scales vaporised. "I'll warn you, Thurduunax. Arashi is powerful. The reason he got away with what he did was because he was too powerful for the Clan's Elders to deny" growled Septimus once the larger Dragon caught up, the two rising into the clouds. "In a community like ours, guarding the Mana Well is a simple task. The Clans have softened as a result of their number. I have guarded the Mana Well below the ravine for millennia, alone. I have faced beasts most Hueilin would tremble at the sight of. Arashi may be powerful, but much of his power comes from others' weakness" rumbled the Elder as he beat his wings powerfully, powering himself forward rapidly, Septimus upping the pace to keep up with the Elder. In his natural form, Thurduunax was a fearsome sight to behold. dark grey scales covered in battle scars made up the majority of his back, with thick overlapping chestplates that looked strong enough to deflect the mightiest of weapons. Unlike the relatively sleek form Septimus had, Thurduunax's body was considerably rougher, his jaw lined with rough knobs and spikes, his wings tattered and lacking most of the vibrancy that defined younger Hueilin. It was clear from the look of the Elder that he was a battle-hardened veteran of war. Arashi may have fought Demons....but Thurduunax's own conquests were not to be underestimated. Looking ahead, Septimus could see the massive mountain range within which lay the Hueilin homeland of Drakhunmiir. At this pace, they could be there by dawn...

The shadow cast over the mental sky disappeared as Desrium wandered through the reformed recess of his mind. The reds and blues that hung above retained their cloud like qualities, swirling and drifting overhead. They were transparent enough that the likeness of the canyon was still clearly visible, the gap and the trees on the other side in full view, swaying in the breezes caused by the beating of humungous wings. Under the peaceful skies, the platforms of stone drifted toward each other, their jagged edges fitting together like pieces of a puzzle as the armored being trekked across the growing landmass. Growing out of the ground like stalks of a plant were winding beams of magical energy that would start out as thick, bulbous growths that blossomed and spread their energized tendrils. This was the start of inner peace...

The storm of smoke rolling across the wastelands suddenly split apart, three different strands shooting off in different directions. One began to descend on Gorgoroth, while another bolted its way across the sky toward a section of woodlands, and yet another made its way toward a distant mountain range...

The ground shook as the small magical plants progressively increased in size. Their sprouting from the ground was marked by rocks being jettisoned into the air in a breath taking display. Rising high, the towering stalk of magic flowered and let their willowy tendrils drift back down almost weightlessly. Sparkles of light rained down around Desrium- as did the rocks- creating a scene that was both tranquil and violent. He took in the sights of the developing landscape, which was now being carpeted by fire colored, grass sized leaves of light. From reds, oranges, yellows, blues, greens and purples, they reminded the armored being of the vines that gripped the inside of the cave behind him.

He stopped as a strong tremor began just underneath his feet and stood there, waiting. Seconds later he was lifted into the air by another light stalk, its limbs spreading around him. Encompassed in the glittering mist, Desrium sat down, watching as similar events happened all across the mental expanse, the showers of light and stone...
