By now, Byakuren had been lead past the curious crowds, into the castle, and up to the main dining hall, where Trajan was already seated. The Emperor waved to her, and the mage, knowing better than to keep a royal waiting, took her seat.

"I have heard that you had come here, Miss Byakuren. It is such a great honor to have a demon exterminator like you come here to this country." Trajan said, trying not to antagonize her in anyway.

Byakuren smiled. "I was just passing through. For one like you to have need of me... means there's a demon problem around here?" She asked. Due to her reputation as a demon exterminator, it was the main thing people asked of her. She had heard of Germania, and of the capital Tristan a few times in her travels, but she didn't expect a place like this to have problems with demons.

Trajan simply nodded, his face seeming to sour. "Yes, that is why I asked for you to be brought here. You see, last night, we were attacked by a swarm of demons, the like of which no one here has seen before. They scaled the walls, wrecked several homes, sliced apart most of the troops stationed here, and injured over a dozon civilians. We think that they will attack us tonight as well, and after the nightmare from last night, our usual troops aren't good enough to take on those... things. We would like you, to stay here for the day, and when night falls and those.. things attack, you, being a demon exterminator, might be able to drive them off with fewer casualties. If you suceed, then you will recieve ample payment in return." Trajan replied, his eyesfilled with fear.

Byakuren noticed this. Of course, Trajan was doing this for more than just the wellbeing of Tristan. He was also doing this to keep himself in power as the Emperor. Were this to continue, the people would probably begin to think that Trajan was probably responsible, and would oust him to try and fix the problem. "I understand, and I accept the offer. Just tell me one thing real quick.. just what kind of demons were they that attacked here?"

The stalkers moved out, on the hunt to find at least more Krayt.... then they would need to go back to Gorgoroth and resupply....

The orcs and brutres continued their march, the central spire of Gorgoroth drawing ever closer...

In the town of Blackrock, a man in black, hooded robes moved through on horse-back. A Vindicator. He had been in the town when claims of thievery had reached him. However, upon investigating the area, he sensed a powerful magical aura. Strange. Two incidents in a month. First Kirratair's Demonic haunting, and now theft of possessions by what seemed to be...a creature of a magical nature. It seemed the regular authorities would likely be out of their depth. Above, a Griffin Hawk flew off towards the fortress of Arx Arcanum, the Headquarters of the Council of Mercutio; Valenhad's Demon-hunting Inquisition and the most powerful fighting force in the region...

As the two Dragons headed towards the Kirrahara mountain range, Septimus took the time to get a closer look at his new ally. The elder Hueilin was covered in scars, some too small to be noticed at a glance, but visible when focused on. One of the Dragon's horns had been broken near the tip. Thurduunax's face was seriously scarred, his wings tattered and his armour jagged. the small spaces between his black scales glowed whitish gold with barely contained energy, and Septimus wondered just how powerful this ancient warrior truly was. At a glance, he looked more mighty than anything he had ever seen. Then again, if what Sheemaka said was true, Arashi had gone to war against Demons, possibly even having slain legions of them in his time beyond the Jade Sea. It was very likely that the Stormweaver was far more powerful than any of his kind suspected...

The swath of smoke swooped over the outlying villages, reaching Gorgoroth within seconds, plunging the city into a makeshift dusk.

Another of the streams appeared over the mountain range, bypassing it entirely. Within seconds it shot over the two Hueilin dragons without hesitation, casting a dark shadow overhead as it rocketed along the path the two had been traveling.

Mara made her way to the front, where she led the group of orcs and brutes toward Gorgoroth. This had gone without a hi-

She stopped, her skin beginning to crawl on end. she could sense there was SOMETHING coming, something she didn't like... but what?

Then, she looked a little closer ahead, and saw the smoke that had descended over the city. This couldn't tbe good. she thought to herself, before she dashed toward the city, as fast as she could...

Akuro looked around as well, hoping to find atleast one more Krayt, he unaware of what was befalling the city...

"Well, from what I gathered from the surviving troops recieving medical attention, they were two-legged creatured, with odd shaped heads. They had twin-like tails, and had no eyes. They attacked in a large swarm and seemed to possess intelligent behavior. And apparently, they hate light." Trajan informed the mage. This was all he knew about the creatures, and he had gotten this info from the surrvivors...

" Thank you." Byakuren replied. From the description, no creature that she knew of matched it. She sighed. This was gonna be tough...

The hooded figure turned its blanked out face back, looking down the road. Still alone in the gradually darkening world. The authorities didn't seem to speedy to react to its departure with stolen goods. Then again, its procedure was swift and inconspicuous, resulting in an almost casual ride to the city of Stormspire. The horse continued trotting along the path, the town of Blackrock shrinking slowly in the background.

He felt the energies surrounding him and extended his awareness to them. In effect Desrium was extending his awareness of himself, delving even deeper into his mind than he was now. The mana he detected rushing around him was his own, the make up of himself. It was then he started the difficult process of controlling the power within him. What he attempted was completely unknown to even the greatest mage... his greatest successes could be as catastrophic as the most devastating failures...

All the orcs in the courtyard readied their weapons, as did the Olog-Hai. A roar was heard from within the underground, Bardhvadok awakening and readying for combat. the fell beasts, even without riders, instinctively prepared for battle. Burzum saw darkness fall, and marched out, iron blade in hand, ready for battle...

The orcs and brutes hurried to Gorgoroth, fearing the worst...

The stalkers and last two Olog-hai continued on their ways with Akuro, ready to find that last one....

Sharavuras continued his hunt for sellswords, but had little luck so far. For one, they had little money, so bartering was tough. He needed a way to persuade them...

But how?

Some of the shadows condensed and shot toward the ground, writhing and twisting as they formed the blackened, faceless armor that was seen in Tristan. Even as it formed, it did not move, standing as still as a statue amongst the battle ready orcs and Olog-Hai.

Burzum approached the being, hesistant but knowing he must do so. Was this the being he had sensed earleir? Was this the end of the goal he had worked so hard to achieve? Was the cult to be dissolved before this eldritch beast?

He had no time to think of that. He needed to speak, and now. The Olog-Hai and orcs stood steadfast, albeit a bit shakily in the orcs' case.

"Greetings, eldritch beast. I am Lord Burzum, chief of the Olog-Hai, lord of Gorgoroth. What brings one of your stature to an outpost as remote as this?"

Maybe if he seemed pleasant enough it would go away...

The gate was still open for mara and the troop, allowing them to head straight in to Gorgoroth...

Moving as fast as she could, Mara darted through the gate, her eagerness to stop whatever was going on rushing ahead of her brain. Was the dark presence she had seen in the sidelines at Tristan really here? If only Akuro were here...

The Kitsune sniffed the air once more, before he stopped. "There is a Krayt in this direction." the Kitsune growled, before he moved off into the forest, heading at a pace where th eothers could keep up...

"Rumors," was all the armored being said. Although its presence was mighty, it kept its power concealed almost without effort, meaning a true grasp of what they were dealing with was impossible to attain at the moment.

"What kind of rumors?" Burzum grugled before letting out a cough. His hand gripped his iron blade a bit more tightly now, and the orcs seemed more suspicious. The olog-hai kept their stances as normal, too stupid to realize the possible threat of the last statement.

The orc and brute troop soon came into view of Burzum and the main forces of Gorgoroth staring down a shrodued being....

The stalekrs and olog-hai complied, immediately heading after Akuro...

"Rumors of opposition in this region," the voice, like the chill of an artic wind personified, explained, despite the impossibility of such a thing. "And I believe my sources are...accurate."

"What makes you think we oppose you, shrouded one?" Burzum was becoming increasingly fearful and anxious. He could just rush in and attack now.... or get a bit more info out of this beast and pray that it goes away without any losses.... for he can't afford to lose a single soul.... not right now, with his army being so underprepared....

Mara rounded a corner... and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the entity before her, she herself being a distance behind it, about 50 feet. There was no shadow of a doubt, this was what she had seen last night, and if the shapeshifter's words were true, then it sure wasn't here just to chat with Burzum...

"Do not take me for a fool," the armored being said with no discernible change in its distorted tone. "I have been listening, you see...and the things I hear around your pathetic little clan do not amuse me. I don't know where you got this silly little idea that you can stand against me, but know this: You live because I allow you to live. To oppose me is to consign yourself to death," it continued, light itself seeming to bend around it as it grew more agitated.

"You? Allow ME to live? ha!" Burzum let out an obviously faked laugh. "Don't think so highly of yourself, creature."

Burzum made a gesture with his right hand, hoping the abomination failed to notice the disreet motion, as some orcs slowly draw their bows back, ready to fire on the no-so-friendly creature.

"Perhaps we can come to a deal. If you leave, I will not trouble you. Stay, and I'll assure you, one of us won't make it out of here alive."

For obvious reasons, Burzum had a feeling that was the wrong thing to say...

Sharavuras decided that to continue this pursuit now was pointless. He had come inadequately prepared to recruit, and decides to make the lnog journey back home....

"No, I don't think so. I think you'll head my warning and accept whatever fate you are privileged to receive," the armored being rasped, still unmoving. "Or I will unmake your miserable existence, as well as that of your clan of primates."

"So what is your proposal?" Burzum asked, slowly preparing his blade, in case this.... thing has any unpleasant surprises for him. The orcs still train their bows on the being, and the Olog-Hai grasp their maces, and the Fell beasts look down from Gorgoroth's keep, ready to swoop down and attack...

"I make no proposals. That is my ultimatum. If you stay out of my way, you will continue your miserable existence as long as the fates allow," the armored being responded, again its tone remained unchanged. "Continue down your current path, however, and I will show you your place."
