"Those things are creepy," Sylicora muttered bluntly, coming out of her thoughts at the mention of the Troodon pack. "Not to mention dangerous. Do you have any idea where they live so we know where not to go?" "I guess it's no use hoping they were just passing through," Rhojis added dejectedly. They had only just found the cave and already had a reason to abandon it. To the juveniles, it felt like nowhere was safe...

"They live in Death Valley," Howler replied. "It's a mile or so away from here, I think. Stoneclaw and I live there. And yes," he added with a shudder, "they are creepy..."

"Some time later. For now, I'm going up there to get some sleep" replied Aircrest as he got back to his feet and turned around to face the treeline. "Maybe I'll run into you again when I do" the green and black raptor added as he looked up into the branches and kicked off of the ground, rocketing up onto one and leaping off seconds after, heading higher up into the canopy.

Crusher simply grunted, too tired to bother responding. He had doubts that he'd see this particular raptor again very soon. Then again, you could never tell with roamers...

"I seem to remember there being a rather unsavory Tyrannosaur living in and around Death Valley. Any idea if that may have driven them from their original dens?" hissed Ripper calmly as he eyed Howler, a scaly brow curved in curiosity...

"Bladetooth? I doubt it; he doesn't care much about them, unless they try to steal his kills," Howler responded. "All I know is that they moved to the caves where some Albino raptors used to live, and drove them out. Don't know where they went, but Stoneclaw's glad to see them gone. He wasn't a big fan of them."

"Really? Seemed quite the opposite when I was curing our friend here from the poison. What with his repeated assertions that it was incurable" growled Ripper as he glanced past the Raptor at the darkness beginning to overcome the island beyond the cave's entrance. the sun was likely long past the horizon, judging by the purple tint of the sky...

"Albino raptors?" Sylicora repeated in a low voice, giving her brother a questioning look. He simply shrugged, never having heard of such a variation of their kind. Beryl gave a quiet grunt and blinked his glazed yellow eyes tiredly. "Albinos? 'Ve heard of 'em. Ne'er seen one..." The injured male mumbled to the juveniles, his jaw still resting on the stone floor, making his words come out slightly slurred. This piece of information made the juveniles curious. Having been brought up in such isolation, they didn't have much of any knowledge of the rest of the species on the island. Even the habits and appearance of the rest of their own kind was largely unknown to them...

"Albino raptors have pure white scales and pink eyes," Howler added. "In Death Valley, that worked just fine for them, but in the jungle... Well, I'm not so sure." He gave Ripper an odd look at the older raptor's comment, but said nothing...

Thorn Jaw silently passes under the primordial forests permiating Isla Sorna. His gaze rests upon an open plain and his cautious nature soon reveals its self, Should I leave the safty of the forest to cross the plains? I don't believe that would be wise... Thorn Jaw thinks, shaking his head reliquishing the idea from his mind. Thorn Jaw quickens his pace for he searches for a new territory. As he continues through the forest his snout soon fills with the scent of Dryosaurus, he decides that his hunger is great and he could use the time to explore this forest and size up its inhabitants.

Razorjaw was sleeping soundly by a tree, the corpse of the para he had felled lying not far away

He had come out of the clearing and into the moonlight fringes,it took a few moments for his eyes to adjust after all that time in the near pitch blakc brush but after a shake of the head to accustom his vision he was soon ready to hunt. While he was in out of the forest's full cover there there still remained a small patch of relatively tall vegetation marking the end of the dark forest,Razorjaw would use this to get as close as possible to the herd of para

Cautiously the predator crept through this steadily thinning sub-forest,closer and closer to the unsuspecting herbivores. Before long he came to a point where concealment became difficult it was here that he would stop and observe the herd scanning for any weakness or potential witnesses to his ambush.Just as he suspected,a few individuals were on sentry duty, keeping a watchful eye on whatever might come lumbering out of the forest with the intent on eating them, because of this Razorjaw knew he'd have to wait for the sentry's guard to slip surely they couldn't watch forever. As it turns out the paras couldn't watch forever after some time of waiting the herbivores seemed somewhat satisfied nothing was going to come out of the forest and eat them, the sentries lowered their heads to feed and it was then that the daspletosaur made his move

The predator lunged out of the brush and broke into a run, breaking twigs and branches as he departed from the final cover of the forest. The instant he did so all the para's began hooting and went into a panic, they were soon all to their feet and running onto the open plains.Razorjaw would search for weakness in the herd as most predators did by keeping the herd running, soon enough a weak or sick individual would end up at the back and that would be the one the carnivore would go for.As the chase went on the daspletosaur noticed one particular para was slowly ending up at the back of the herd,it's gait appeared to be off perhaps from a previously sustained injury seeing this Razorjaw began to pick up the pace focussing on the wounded creature

Whether or not the para knew it was being singled out no one can be sure but as the rest of the herd began to overtake it the creature went into a very irregular sprint in a desperate attempt to keep up.It was no use, soon it's tail was in reach of the tyrannosaurid's mighty jaws and in an instant they clamped down on the para's tail the herbivore cried out in pain, slowing down and hooting in vain as the herd that had abandoned it to the predator became little more than a cloud of dust out on the great plains.Razorjaw let go of the tail and as the para made an attempt to change direction to buy it a few more seconds at life he bit into it's side before wrestling the plant eater to the ground. The para spent it's last few seconds gasping and writhing on the ground shortly before the daspletosaur clamped down on the animal's windpipe, finally killing it

With one clawed foot atop the carcass Razorjaw roared in his triumph before dragging the corpse back to the forest fringe, there were plenty of big carnivores out on the plains that would like nothing more than to kill him and take his kill, both of which they could do easily. With his meal at last safe Razorjaw began to feed and fill his demanding stomach to the brim soon after the predator settled down near the carcass in the security of the forest fringe to sleep the meal off

As Thorn Jaw follows the game trail the sound hits him. The roar was loud and true stopping him dead in his tracks, he recognized the vocalization to be a Tyrannosaur of some sort. Thorn Jaw continues down the trail more cautious then before, only his hunger driving him. As the roar silents itself, soon the ceratosaurus eyes fall upon a small pod of dryosaurus. Thorn Jaw silently places himself in a grove of high vegitation that can hide his large form. His gaze survey's the pod looking for the sentries, to Thorn Jaws surprise there was only one. Thorn jaw sneeks as close as he dares and tenses feeling the adrenile of the hunt building.

The Dryosaur pod was oblivious to the large ceratosaurus hidden within the brush. The alpha male of the group had distanced himself from the rest, feeding off the delicious vegitation fallen from the trees. The Alpha see's it with a horrified stare...As the ceratosaurus bursts from the primal forest as silent as a hawk.

Thorn Jaw charged forward quietly, all that could be heard was the steady breathing he made as he closed on the Alpha dryo. The rest of the pod scattered along with the Alpha, his legs pushing him to his limits. Thorn Jaw strides forward leveling out next to the Alpha dryo causing the agile herbivore to turn. Thorn Jaw strikes then, his large jaws clamping down on the dryo's hips! Thorn Jaw lifts the helpless dryo as it opens its mouth to screech in pain! Its cry's are exstiquished as Thorn Jaw slams the dryo against the ground, breaking its back. The dryo soon dies as Thorn Jaw feeds, the ceratosaur does not loose a mighty roar. He fears the wrath of the larger and more powerful carnivores of Isla Sorna...

While he was resting Razorjaw was sure he had heard a screeching sound penetrate the tranquillity of the forest for but a moment.Lifting his head he listened for signs of danger, the daspletosaur could only heard slight rustlings and the noises of small fleeing dinosaurs through the forest.Certainly nothing that would endanger him or his prize

He thought for a moment, then decided that if there really was something like a large carnivore it would waste no time in making everything in the area aware of it's presence and if Razorjaw had the sound of the screech right, the making of a kill. And so slowly the predator lowered his head once again and went back to sleep

Thorn Jaw continued gorging on the dryo's lifeless form. He growled slightly in content certain that he could live here on the edge of the plains. He soon finished all he wished to eat at the moment and began to hide the rest of the dryo. Thorn Jaw then searched the forest for a comfortable and safe place to sleep. He made his way to a large boulder that was shadowed by large trees and dense foilge. Thorn Jaw then lowered his ton and half bulk down to the ground and sleeped inbetween the large boulder and huge trees. Thorn Jaw slowly fell asleep hoping his rest would not be disturbed by anything dangerous.

Steeltalon stretched her jaws in an echo of Fatalis's yawn. Her muscles, still a bit sore from the fight she'd been in, throbbed dully as if in protest at the mere thought of getting up and walking back to the underground caverns she spent the nights in. However, even if there were two of them, she knew all too well the dangers of sleeping out in the open. So, reluctantly, she stood and stretched her legs, easing the slight stiffness out of them.

Sylicora inclined her head in curiosity. "Pure white scales? No wonder we've never seen one." "Yeah, they'd stand right out in a forest," Rhojis added. He glanced out through the entrance past Howler, noting how the sunlight was gradually fading, the treeline sinking into deeper shadow. Beryl had closed his eyes and was breathing steadily, still in too much pain to fall asleep, but at least comfortable enough to relax his almost constant grimace...

"I don't know how long they'll survive out here, to be honest," Howler replied, looking out at the fading light...

"So this is where he was?" Sharpclaw asked, sniffing around the clearing near the dead Compy. Brighteyes nodded. "Yep. He must have moved on." Sharpclaw stared thoughtfully at the ground, then looked up. "He must have a place to stay the night nearby. We need to keep searching. We'll have more of an advantage at night anyway..."

Thorn Jaw stirs within his deep slumber, rising from the foilage and undergrowth the ceratosaur waits for his eyes to adjust to the growing darkness. As he silently trudges through the forest his senses are heightened for he had acquired a scent that indicated a large carnivore. Traveling at a brisk jog Thorn Jaw makes it to his destination a small stream running through the forest. He bends his upper torso down so he may quench his thirst. Thorn Jaw as he drinks the scent wafts up into his nostrils once more. As he breathes deeply the scent is vaguely familar and soon the realization of what it is hits him harder than an anklyosaur. Daspletosaur... Thorn Jaw thinks growling lowly so he does not attract unwanted company...

The sound of heavy footfalls rung in the jungle, followed by a deep, menacing growl. A gargantuan beast sniffed the air twice, before he turned his attentino to the sounds of the forest. So calm, and tranquil, as always, but he caught the scent of something very nearby. He wasn't about to pass up on the chance of a meal...

Ba'al stomped his way towards the scent, curious to its owner.... and whether they'd make a fine meal or not...

Thorn Jaw as stealthy as possible moved through the forest. He was wary of any noises and or scents he felt as if being pursued. The ceratosaur continued onward as the sound of running water became apparent, Thorn Jaw sniffed his nostrils flaring as he could smell the daspletosaur and another tyrannosaur near by. His eyes turned from fear to subdued annoyance at the luck he was having as of late. Thorn Jaw soon quickened his pace to a jog he wished to distance himself from the threat as quickly and quietly as possible...

Amidst the distraction of the other Raptors talking, Ripper stepped back into the shadows, disappearing behind a rock formation in the cave, nothing but silence following him...though somewhere in those shadows, the Elder remained, constantly vigilant, 35 years of living alone having honed his senses and focus to a razor edge...

"You have somewhere to rest? Or are you as aimless as I am?" hissed Fatalis as he cocked his head towards the female curiously...
