Up in his box, Trajan ignored Discord's remark, and begrudgingly pointed his thumb downward. The church officials, all standing up right behind him, also thrusted their thumbs downward. This was the signal that the crowd had waited for... for the criminal to be killed. The heads seeing the signal, the Orochi hissed, preparing to strike. All Dione could do was close her eyes, and wait for the unimaginable pain to pierce her being...

...Nothing. She felt nothing. Not the sliminess of the inside of the serpent's throat, or the acid dissolving her, nothing.

Slowly, she opened her eyes, and saw, to her and everyone else's surprise, that the snake had turned away from her, and was facing back upward, right at Trajan...

Then, shocking everyone there, she spoke.

"This one is innocent. Why am I to kill one that is not guilty?" The Orochi hissed, her voice cold and reptilian, but having a faint feminine touch to it. For what seemed like a long time, no one spoke in response. Never had they expected this creature to be capable of speech before. To all except Dione, this creature, being capable of speech was too much for them. Even the church officials were stunned.

Finally, Trajan broke the silence. Perhaps it was because he had dealt with Septimus and an archdemon that he had been the first to recover, but regardless, he asked the serpent, "What makes you think that Dione is innocent? The journal that was found stated that the person the murderer meet was infact Dione..." Inside, he was reliefed that the would be executioner had spared Dione's life, but he still had to act like this, and react before the church officials could recover...That, and perhaps this serpent knew more than anyone else here did...

The gates slammed shut behind them both shortly after, leaving the guards to ponder the occurance. Draco worked his horse hard, the majestic steed movign at a brisk pace inside the cobbled road. With each clack of his steed's hooves, Draco knew that all he was doing was further bringing evil upno his people. But he trully believed that Zazikel would help make his people great, and destroy the scrouge of the elves. As his horse moved along, Draco turned to Zazikel.

"The Writ of Sealing is about 7 to 8 miles outside of Draxon, right at the eastern-most edge of Shadepines," Draco shouted to the archdemon. "We have a good, long run ahead of us."

"How fortunate that I can fly, then," Zazikel remarked, his form shifting in mid-air, growing vastly in size, before exploding harmlessly outward into his true, draconic form. The Archdemon moved upwards, so as not to buffet Draco with his powerful wingbeats, but still flew low to keep the young king in his sights...

Discord, for his part, had somehow managed to acquire a bottle of beer, sipping it daintily. "Oh, this is just TOO entertaining!" he said with a hearty laugh, turning the bottle to Byakuren. "Want a drink?"

Draco simply followed Zazikel from the ground, his steed taking in deep, raspy breaths as they pressed onwards. The map said they drew close, as they passed by the village of Derbasr, just as the map said. From what it looked like, they had to pass by Dragonhead rock, before they were at Shadepines, and from there, they had to climb a good sized hill to get the the Writ of Sealing.

"To summon Dhoulmagus, the words scrolled down here at the bottom say, 'Purands, Dhoulmagus. Onfestos dhoul entaltis'. I think it means, 'Arise, Dream Eater. Feast upon dreams once again'," Draco said as Dragonhead rock became visible in the distance...

"Seems simple enough," Zazikel replied, this time telepathically, as it was more efficient. "I am surprised no one before has attempted this..."

"I'm sure there were many people who did... just none of them succeeded," Draco replied. "In fact, Immanis told me a story about when he was younger, one of his friends who worshipped Dhoulmagus went to find the Writ of Sealing and copied down the map while inside the Temple of Greshlynk. He never saw him again."

The two finally passed Dragonhead rock, signalling they were on the eves of shadepines...

Amidst the tall black trees of the Shadepine woods, the howling winds churned, kicking up long dead leaves, their dark browns and blacks almost unnatural, tainted by the overwhelming demonic presence that resided in this ancient wood. Dormant though they may have been, the beasts that dwelt here were not unaware of the two beings approaching their ancient forest...

It wasn't long before Septimus approached the cave where his friend had said he would await him. Something was amiss however. He could not sense the presence of Jiier, and the odd vacuum that came with the Blood Omen's presence was also missing. narrowing his shimmering cyan eyes, the Dragon descended into the valley, slowing as he approached the cave...

Arsenic was kneeling on the floor in front of Vix, his back to her as she finished up working the knots out of his neck and shoulders. Andruil walked in just as Vix positioned her hands and gave Arsenic's head an almost violent-looking twist, resulting in several joints in his neck cracking loudly. The mute elf flinched a bit, rolling his shoulders and commenting to her, 'I hate it when you do that,' before turning to acknowledge their companion with a nod. "Wouldn't be as satisfying if I didn't," she joked, releasing him and adding to Andruil, "Very well, thanks. It's almost like home." A flicker of grief touched her expression for just a second before she shook it off. With a little luck, her inn would soon be rebuilt and almost as good as new.

Jiier nodded, heading slowly up the path toward the keep. When they arrived, the dragon stopped a few feet from the guards. "We seek counsel with your leadership," the dragon growled calmly, trying to keep his voice as nonthreatening as possible.

"Probably," Draco replied. As the two entered into the woods, Draco's horse slowed to a stop, clearly unwilling to press onward. With a swift nudge in its sides, though, the horse continued to move. Draco soon drew his blade, before it erupted in a plume of magical fire.

"We're getting close now.. only a little bit farther, and we'll be at the Writ of Sealing...."

"And what makes you view yourself worthy of Lord Barthog's presence?" The right guard inquired.

"Only those of true power and authority may pass into Grymhaven Manor!" The left guard proclaimed.

"STOP," Zazikel's voice boomed in Draco's head, the demonic dragon hovering just outside the Shadepines. He sensed the demonic essence permeating the forest. Whether or not said Demon was still present, he could not say. No Demon would be foolish enough to deny the authority of an Archdemon, but the creatures of the forest were not quite as intelligent. While Zazikel doubted he would be in danger, Draco was another matter entirely. He could not afford to risk the king's life, no matter how much of a warrior he was...

"We come baring grave news. News that your Lord must hear," Jiier responded, slightly perplexed by the way the two men reacted. If a dragon wasn't a symbol of power, what was?

"Such arrogance would not be tolerated by the shadow-being" Desrium said, his already quiet voice lowered to the point where only Jiier could hear the words he spoke. To the guards, it was like listening to a cold wind...

The guards glanced at each other, a bit worried that they may have said the wrong thing, especially since there's a DRAGON standing only a few feet away, and some odd armored being as well. The guards soon turned back to the beigns before them.

"Forgive us for our crassness, Dragonkin.... times have been hard for all of us." the right guard stated.

"King Draco of Freyr-Lunge sent a messenger to warn of our capitol's distress, and we answered," the left guard said.

"None have rested soundly since last evening, and we have all been wary of outsiders since the attack," the right guard explained.

"But, seeing one of Greshlynk's ilk does us well. Go, go and speak with Lord Barthog, and warn him of your own grave news," The left guard said urgently. The two guards then pulled open the door, allowing the duo access to Grymhaven Manor....

Draco did as Zazikel told, as his horse, as soon as Draco stopped his pressure, immediately backed out of the woods with little hesitation.

"What do you sense, Archdemon? Demons?"

"Demonic power would be more accurate of a description," Zazikel mused. He let out a roar that echoed across the forest, hidden within its call, the Demonic tongue:

Who are you?

Jiier bowed his head slightly before striding into the manor, lowering himself significantly to get through the doorway.

Andruil eyed the two with a curved brow. "Nothing better than the sensation of your head being forcibly removed from your neck, right Arsenic?" joked the man as he walked in. leaning against one of the posts of the bunk beds, he looked over at Mordecai, chuckling. "Would you rather stay outside with the big angry Wyvern?" he asked as he eyed the small draconic creature...

As Septimus reached the cave he beat his wings powerfully, slowing his movement to a hover, looking into the dark entrance, his heightened vision seeing the details clearly. swooping inwards and furling his wings simultaneously, the Dragon landed in the cave entrance at a slow trot, slowing himself to a stop as he looked around. His gifts to Desrium had been left here, in spite of the armoured being's absence....and Jiier's. on the wall above the pile of possessions was some kind of writing. it look familiar enough for him to identify it as Zuppolandian...but that was all he could glean from it's appearance. The Dragon unfortunately didn't know the Lost Civilisation's tongue, let alone their form of writing. However, it allowed him to draw a few conclusions. For instance, he could tell that they obviously intended to be gone for a while, probably quite a long while at that. he could also tell that Desrium either intended for Septimus to take the things he had left for the Blood Omen, or that he intended to be back soon enough that he didn't fear for their condition, which, considering the context of the situation, was unlikely. This was inadequate. The Dragon would have to find out what it meant. The question was.....should he risk going to Zuppoland again for this? or roam numerous libraries in search for a means to translate it. Settling for the former, the dragon turned, spreading his massive wings as he took off, soaring off towards the coast...

Zazikel was greeted with silence. while Demons infested this area, they were not keen to talk. they hungered for blood...for souls....for fresh life to feast upon. a wave of incomprehensible whispers were all Zazikel would get from the creatures...While he was indeed powerful by definition....he was not so absolute a power that nothing could match him...

Draco kept his sword ready, flames burning intensely along its rathsteel blade. Draco's horse whinnied, rising onto its hind legs for a couple seconds, but Draco calmed it down a bit. Fear had found itself buried in both Draco and his steed's hearts, as he glanced up, and noted the eclipse still glowing brightly in the night...

"Oh yeah, underground AND stuck in a crummy stall," Mordecai quipped. "Sounds like paradise..." Tetto said nothing, merely chuckling in amusement...

Zazikel snorted. "Useless. What a surprise. These lower Demons have always been notoriously thick-skulled..." he growled. "Very well then. I suppose I'll just have to carry you, Draco, like some sort of common beast of burden..." He voice, even telepathically, was laced with obvious disgust at demeaning himself in such a way...
