"This evil was not always so. It is the Traitor God; originally part of a pantheon of 8, who has since forsaken its duties for selfish pursuits," Radamand explained with little restraint. He knew that the Asterians, blind to their origins, would be curious as to how they were beset by such an impossible enemy.

"Gods?" Mazdamundi replied. "A creator of Aster?" If what Radamand was saying was true, it was world-shaking for the Lizardmen. One of the Old Ones had betrayed them, and the Great Plan? This did not bode well at all...

Radamand nodded. "Aster's disgraced father has returned. I'm sure this is quite the upset in many religions," he replied, guessing as to why the Slann was so shocked. Many different religions persisted even on lands that were not shrouded from the truth. No doubt Aster's denizens would come up with their own origins as well.

For the first time in what was likely many years, Mazdamundi made a rather significant physical movement, though even this was little more than a moment of uncomfortable shifting. For a Slann, however, this was significant, and Chakax seemed to have picked up on this. The Saurus tensed up, releasing a rumbling snarl from deep within his barrel chest. "One of the Old Ones... Mazdamundi began, "...one of our makers, one of the diviners of the Great Plan... Has betrayed us all..." After a second of contemplation, the Slann continued. "I must convene with my brethren. You will have far more than just the Solar City at your disposal now. One of the Old Ones he may be, but if he is a traitor to his own cause, he is no better than the chaotic forces of the Demon Realms..."

"Your aid is appreciated. We need all that we can get," Radamand responded, giving a short bow. He felt the urge to explain how the Traitor may not be their idea of "old ones", but he thought that if it motivated them to send additional troops, there was no harm in letting them believe it was.

Mazdamundi did not nod back, but it was clear that he was cordial. "Tell me, giant... what was this traitor's purpose as one of the Old Ones, before he turned on his children? I only hope that the Great Plan foresaw this, and none of my servants were blessed by this tainted being in the past..." As the conversation had continued, the Slann had apparently summoned another servant: a single Skink Priest had made his way up the stairs to situate himself alongside the Mage-Priest. He was unusual for a Skink, with an enlarged head crest, vibrant red, the same as blood...

"The Traitor God was once the God of Stealth and Shadows," Radamand recited as if it was second-nature, turning to stare briefly at the approaching darkness. "He wishes to turn Aster into a home fit for a being of shadow, much to the dismay of us all."

"We have our own name for him," Mazdamundi said. "Huanchi. He is envisioned as a jaguar-god of the earth and night, able to slip through the thickest jungles unseen and unheard. His blessings, and many other signs of his existence, have disappeared in recent millennia. The Mage-Priests were fearful, but perhaps it had been for the best. Perhaps this is all part of the Great Plan..."

"Perhaps it is," Radamand replied, giving another assuring nod. The information he was presented with was...odd. Being a devotee of Soel, he knew a great deal about the ancient pantheon. Religious fervor was a powerful thing, however, and if these reptilian creatures found strength in their Great Plan, than such a belief was welcome on the battlefield.

Mazdamundi said nothing more, simply turning away and heading back down to the forest. His servants would not be pleased to hear that they were, in effect, fighting their own parent. Regardless, he had to tell them, as well as the rest of his kin. Perhaps even Lord Kroak himself would assist in the coming battle...

Chakax dutifully followed his master, but the Skink remained, gaze fixed on Septimus from his position at the entrance to the shrine...

Watching the Slann depart, Radamand sighed heavily, rubbing his head with one gargantuan hand. "Mortal creatures..." he growled under his breath, striding past Septimus as he re-entered the temple, heading for the statuette...

Desrium stood in another chamber, its punctured ceiling allowing a web of vegetation to descend upon the stone and work its way into any nook and crack within. As such, pools of rainwater had collected over a great many years and there were visible grooves in the rock where erosion had taken place. The temple was truly ancient.

The Blood Omen's eyes were locked at what once was a detailed record of events of eons passed, now aged and incomprehensible. The crimson glow fell on plain ridges and bumps, carvings whose features were smoothed away by time and weather. This was the case for every room in the ruined shrine, where stories of history not found in any books were simply lost due to neglect. The Blood Omen did not think much of this unfortunate fact and so he did not stay long in the room. He turned to its exit and proceeded to leave in search of other sights...

A nightmarish roar signalled Dhoulmagus' awakening, tentacles writhing as they pulled the massive beast forth from his cave. The creature sniffed the air, before his voice responded to the Archdemon's.

"What do you command of me, Archdemon?" Dhoulmagus replied menacingly.

"He opens it again and I'll pour the whole thing of vinegar on him this time," Vix muttered, opening one green eye. Zar gave a low chuckle and murmured, "Good morning to you too, child."

" Dear God the only thing I ask of you is
to hold her when I'm not around,
when I'm much too far away
We all need that person who can be true to you
But I left her when I found her
And now I wish I'd stayed
'Cause I'm lonely and I'm tired
I'm missing you again oh no
Once again " - avenged sevenfold dear god

"General or not," Vix said, getting up slowly to avoid aggravating her old injury, "if that wound opens again, any battles you've fought will seem like a walk in the park compared to me." She spoke with a flat, matter-of-fact tone, and her expression was completely blank, so unless you knew her well - or could read minds - it was impossible to tell if she was joking or not. Zar laughed again, rising to his feet and carefully giving his wings a stretch.

The Skink Priest approached Spetimus once Radamand had left, staring blankly at the dragon. "You have met one of us before," he chittered brusquely. He sounded similar to Tetto'eko, but with a sharper, more reptilian voice...

"The Emperor of Tristan has proven untrustworthy," Zazikel growled. "You are the devourer of dreams, are you not? Do what you do best, Dhoulmagus, but do not kill him. We must demoralize him, not risk creating a martyr. Trajan is his name..."

Tetto'eko turned away from the darkness and gave Vix an odd look. "Well well, someone seems a bit touchy this morning, hm?" he hissed with a smile.

Dhoulmagus replied with a haunting chuckle.

"It shall be done, Zazikel," Dhoulmagus hissed.

The dream eater, not wanting to broadcast himself to the world, soon took the shape of an eagle, before he took off, flying towards the city of Tristan, located in the far off land of Germania. He was going to enjoy this...

"Believe it, Elias. I've seen her in action" said Andruil with a chuckle as he walked over to Thalion, running a hand under the hippogriff's chin gently, a purr-like chirp coming from the beast as he rose to his feet, standing at attention...

Septimus curved a scaly brow at the priest, surprised. Was that the only reason the skink had been brought up to the temple? "Yes. Tetto'eko" rumbled Septimus calmly as he looked down at the robed skink, who looked somewhat younger than his old friend and former companion. He recognised him however. He was the skink that had killed the human as a sacrifice during Septimus's visit to Lustria. He made sure not to show any sign he recognised him however...

The Skink nodded. "Lord Mazdamundi sensed such a thing, and I could see it in your eyes. Your curiosity is not like that of those down in the forest; they have not seen many of our kind." The Priest dipped his head in a short bow. "I am Tehenhauin, Prophet of Sotek the Serpent God. Tetto'eko, the Traitor of the Solar City, was my brother of the same waters..."
