Many of the archers were caught in a barrage of the Blood Omen's beams, the streaks of light ripping through the Draxonians. Many were cleaved cleanly in two from the blasts as they cut across their formation, the sights more than enough to horrify even hardened warriors.

Dust and bits of his encrusted armor fell from the slash at Radamand's midsection, as if the being was made of stone. His grip did not lessen when he was kicked, merely dragging the beast with him. "You fought for the wrong side," he snarled, his eyes flaring as he summoned a massive amount of strength and shoved both his hands downward, breaking the drake's jaws violently.

"DO NOT THINK YOUR VICTORY ASSURED SO EASILY, VERMIN," Eredar roared, his voice almost deafening to hear. From inside the crater emerged an unholy menagerie of monstrous creatures. What were once men and women, elves and dwarves, dragons and hydras, were now mindless husks, some mutated beyond recognition. Emerging from the endless dark alongside the Draxonian army, the unholy creatures ignored their would-be allies completely, many shambling toward the front lines, while mutated dragons and gryphons and other beasts took to the air. In the pitch black dark, they couldn't hope to see how many of these monstrosities there were, but as Tzeentch peered into the battlefield with her magically enhanced senses, the results were terrifying to say the least...

Zazikel watched the battle from a distance, disapproving. The Draxonians had been too eager. Though they were expendable, he'd rather not waste them so quickly. Fortunately for them, Zazikel had long since sent his Ra'zac to alert Dhoulmagus and his Shadowreavers. That had been nearly an hour ago; they would arrive soon, and the Asterian forces wouldn't expect a hit from the rear...

Discord, meanwhile, hummed quietly to himself, hovering amongst the clouds as he watched the slaughter below, brooding on what to do. Go have a chat with the Traitor? Stay and watch the show? Decisions, decisions...

Septimus furled his wings as the flaming arrows shot up at him, most missing him entirely, the few remaining ones bouncing off his tough chest scales due to the odd angles they hit him at, and the naturally protective shape of the chest plates, as Septimus ascended, rising out of the archers' range...

And just as he did, another volley of flaming oil barrels smashed into the platoon of archers, engulfing a large portion of them in flames, some colliding with mutated Gryphons and Dragons in mid air, setting them ablaze and marking them for the allies, another hailstorm of arrows raining down from the sky like a wave of lethal stars as the first ballista bolts of the battle were fired, mounted on the backs of the enormous Valenhadian Black Dragons, or on the cliffs, massive log-like bolts slamming through flesh, bone and armour alike...

Tzeentch and the mages not focused on the task of suppressing the Traitor continued to spot for their allies, either through shining artificial light through a focused beam, or using the techniques taught to them by Tzeentch to seek out targets without the use of their eyes. Tzeentch herself used the sonar-like function to spot a particularly large dragon making its way toward the middle cliff. At forty feet long, the beast was still partially on fire from the barrage of oil barrels, though it did not seem to care. Its mouth was devoid of traditional teeth, which seemed to have merged with the lining of its jaws, making its gums jagged and razor sharp. It also lacked front legs, though there were definite signs that it had some at one point in its life.

Tzeentch called out mentally to the nearby archers, pointing them in the direction of the approaching dragon. The mutated monstrosity was peppered with arrows, which did little to stop it. A mage lashed out with his own magic, freezing part of the beast's wing. Giving out a distorted, bone-chilling roar, the dragon spewed white-hot energy out in all directions, managing to free its trapped limb, but not before it crashed into the side of the cliff, where it clung with its clawed wings and remaining legs. With droning growls, the dragon clawed its way up the face of the cliff, as a group of archers fired repeatedly into its head and shoulders, to no apparent effect.

The rangers fled from the searing heat, breaking formations and focusing on the undead drake. The ballistae were operational at this point, the large weapons mounted on a swivel that allowed them to aim in almost all directions horizontally and a vertical guide allowed it to fire up to 85 degrees into the air. The bolts were loaded into the wooden weapons, notched in place and primed to fire when the dragon's head raised over the edge of the cliff, prepared to assist the mages with brute physical power.

A blast of pure white energy slammed into the heavily-mutated dragon from seemingly nowhere, as Lord Kroak brought down his immensely powerful magical blast on the mutant. The attack was like coating a Demon in holy water, burning the very flesh of the monstrosity. The ancient Slann, while not participating in the channeling, was still more than capable of providing heavy fire support alongside the other mages...

"Clear away from the side!" Tzeentch called when she noticed the ballistae primed to fire. The archers, the dark separating them from the siege weapons, were unaware they were in the line of fire, but quickly fled when the order was given. A few moments later, the dragon's now skinless head appeared on the cliff, the beast opening its jaws just as one ballista fired. The bolt, its aim thrown off by the darkness, impaled through the back of the dragon's throat from inside its mouth. With the stake hanging out from its jaws, the beast paused a moment before it completely hoisted itself onto the cliff, revealing the extent of the damage the ancient Slann had inflicted upon it. Missing almost all of its skin and muscle in places, the fleshy horror breathed in to attack the assembled defenders, only for its summoned energy, blocked by the stake, to detonate inside its mouth, causing its entire front half to explode into bloody chunks.

Formidonis thrashed about violently, his eyes wide with shock and pain, before the creature fell limp, eyes closing slowly as the Drak's Familiar drew his final breaths....

Draxon's infantry, horrified at the monsters, began to flee back towards their general, attacking the nightmares in their horror. The cavalry fell back, hoping to hold out better with their main infantry. the archers kept firing at both warriors, frightened but nevertheless fighting for what they believed was right. The Gryphons and their mounts, spooked, began to flee back to Freyr-Lunge, unknowing that the abominations were on their side...

Nitsunobue bellwoed, before he charged horns first into a throng of the mutant beasts, stomping on and smashing the beasts with his feet and tail, sending swathes of the beasts flying with each blow...

A horrifying groan hung in the air, much to the horror of any mortal being on the battlefield, as a wall of darkness advanced from behind the lines of the alliance. The shadowy wall advanced across the field with frightening speed, sweeping across the land like a plague, the beady red eyes of hundreds of thousands of demonic nightmares rushed into the flanks of their foes. Winged demonic beasts hovered in the air, their blackened, shadow-shrouded forms making them invisible to the mortal eye in this darkness, as the massive, demonic legions on the ground attacked. A powerful scream shook the skies, as a gargantuan dragon-like form could be slithering high above the battlefield...

Dhoulmagus soon apeared next to Zazikel.

Zazikel merely smiled. "Keep them focused, Dhoulmagus. Keep them on the rear flank of the army. Eredar's own forces will destroy their front ranks..."

The mutated creatures were ignorant to the Draxonians even as they were attacked, some shambling along even after being dismembered by their would-be allies...

Tzeentch's eyes widened as their newest attackers reached her senses. The changeling summoned as much power as she could and called out, "THEY ARE ATTACKING FROM THE REAR! GET THE SIEGE WEAPONS TO THE CENTER, MOVE SOLDIERS TO THE BACK, FORM A CIRCLE AROUND THE CLIFFS!" Tzeentch continued to bark orders mentally with incredible speed and precision, as the armies began to shift to counter the newest threat.

Radamand snarled at this new information, crushing what was once a man in his grasp, before hurling it into a group of other mutated humans. These basic, shambling horrors made up the bulk of this unholy army, protecting the more powerful creatures further back. The giant's power was needed to combat the more dangerous mutants. He could only hope the rear would not be compromised...

Blazed blood opened his eyes, stopping mid prayer. He was on his own some distance from the camp. He looked up into the sky, at the darkness spread over Aster. He felt like a great weight had been lifted off his chest. The plague which had been decimating his people, the plague which was convinced he had contracted and was suffering from was suddenly gone. Had his prayers worked? The chaplain stood up and looked back towards his mount, the beast had looked up at him, as if sensing the change too.

Midnight froze, looking up. Everybody in the Nightshade common room looked up as well, falling silent. They could all feel it, all blood feather harpies would sense it too, magic being so close to their very being. The plague, more appropriately the curse, that afflicted them, had changed. No doubt back in the harpy towers and roosts there would be utter panic and confusion. Midnight spoke, voicing their wonder "Whoa."

As the information reached them, four Council Mages and numerous Hukkamili warlocks leapt from their positions at the forward ranks, their winged warbeasts lifting them out of the crowd of the front lines as they shot back to the rear flank, which was already being held up by archers, volleys of fiery arrows hurtling into the wall of darkness. Within moments, curved arcs of white hot cleansing energy sliced through the Shadowreavers' ranks, the fiery blade-like crescents going right through the length of the shadowy beasts, as the war beasts upon which the most powerful artillery was placed, moved forward towards the head of the army. With hundreds of thousands of soldiers present, it wasn't difficult to form a second defensive line behind the army...

One of the two ballistae was spun about, its lean-to shelter and all pivoting about on its foundation and aiming towards the ranks at the back of the collaborative forces. The soldiers in green ran another bolt down its length, held its rope taut and held themselves ready to fire. Their forward facing comrades were also in this state of readiness, rangers constantly scanning the darkness for signs of incoming danger, their thoughts relayed back and forth with the assistance of mages.

Cyris could hear the dull thudding of Rattlebones crashing into the door- hell, she could even feel it. Cyris needed a way to ascend the temple and fetch the swords. The elf looked around the room, trying to find a staircase or a magical platform, or something- anything- would work right now...

Rattlebones let out a final blast of ice, knocking the door over with great force. Shards of ice and frost were scattered about on the ground, along with some bits of the door.

While issuing orders, Tzeentch continued to use her senses to the best of her abilities to help her allies. A few mutated gryphons were clashing in the air with the dragon riders, but no other powerful mutants had appeared since they dispatched the dragon, as far as she could sense. The depths of the unholy horde were a blur to her senses, unable to determine what exactly lurked within. Suddenly, approaching not from the front or rear, but from far to the side, was another aerial presence, one that she did not recognize. The unstable energy of the mutants made them easy to identify, and the new foes attacking their lines from the rear had a consistent energy signature as well. Neither their enemy nor their allies matched the signature approaching them now. Before the changeling could call the new presence to the attention of her allies, it was already shooting over them, diving into the hordes of Shadowreavers encroaching upon the armies.

As dark as its surroundings, the creature tore straight through one of the winged horrors, the energy around it becoming stronger as a result. Just likes its adversaries, it blended perfectly with the pitch blackness, making it difficult for even the creatures of the dark to see.

"As you wish, my lord." Dhoulmagus soon began to float overhead, overseeing the battle...

Nitsunobue helped radamand fight off the mutants, the two's brute strength helping them hold the line over on this flank. Nitsunobue crushed a hapless mutant with his tail, crushing into a bloody pulp, as he whirled around, uppercutting some more with his massive head, sending them flying back into the horde, before they rose back to their feet, unfazed. The wyvern let out a piercing screech, before he continued his fighting, bloodlust evident in his beady eyes...

The shadowreavers, unfazed by their losses, continued pressing their offensive. The smaller, less bulky ones blasted the enemy infantry with shadow magic, the deadly spells quickly eating away at their bodies, reducing them to dried husks of what they once were. The larger ones went with a more simple approach. They would use weapons formed of dark magic and easily pummel any caught in arms' width. Some even lept into the air and jumped down amidst the infantry ranks, tearing into them with intense ferocity. The larger, even more powerful demons hgih up in the sky Targeted the opposing mages and the others up on the cliffs. Shadow magic rained down like meteorites on all in their general area, the powerful blasts sending swathes of hapless soldiers flying and damaging some of the catapults. Some went after the drong riders, biting down on the mounts and sucking their energies from their bodies like a vampire would, before they would drop the dried corpses down into the valleys, sending the riders to their deaths. Agamemnon descended down from the clouds, catching one of the Black Valenhadian Dragons on his way down, and blew the hapless creature's head clean off with a beam of purplish energy, the King of the Shadowreavers watching over his dark legion, homing in on this new threat...

The Draxon armies had begun to realize their mistake. They weren't fighting for what was right- they were fighting AGAINST what they should be. The soldiers all gathered in the center, terrified, as their General surveyed the area, hard-pressed to think. He then turned to his men.

"Men," he said. "We were wrong to fight the men that stood before us upon this day. They were not the enemy. We... we have been tricked! This 'Zazikel'... he is no Emissary! no emissary of Greshlynk would send us up against our own kin, and instead fight alongside demons and monsters! Now, we shall make right our sins... attack, my soldiers! ATTACK!"

The general dismounted his horse, as he drew his blade, before he took the form of a great black Were-dragon. The few Draxons let out a battlecry, before they charged headfirst into a throng of the mutants, swords, arrows, and pikes readied. The Draxon catapults now instead aimed at the mutants, the fiery stones firing upon the eldritch monstrosities...

"Yes," Kard said, as he cautiously headed in, weapons readied, with Ivan just behind him...

The Draxonian's actions did not go unnoticed. Tzeentch and the other mages could sense their sudden focused attacks on the mutated monstrosities. At the heart of the horde, however, their chances were slim...had the mutants actually recognized them as enemies. "But how long will that last..." Tzeentch whispered, before mentally alerting the other leading members of the defenders. They would no longer target the forces of Draxon....for now.

The newcomer tore its claws through the head of another Shadowreaver, absorbing its dark essence without fail, before turning on another, the draconic creature biting onto the arm of another winged creature, tearing it from its socket with a single pull. Unstable energy, as black as their surroundings, enveloped the creature, which breathed heavily, clearly enraged, but hidden beneath its own power.

Screams of agony could be heard amidst the defensive line formed along the back of the army, as the Shadowreavers attacked the defenses viciously. Barari Warriors clashed violently with their supernatural foes, sparks exploding in their midst as weapons clashed, the mighty desert warriors holding the line where their Valenhadian allies were faltering, giving some much needed relief to allow the allied soldiers to redouble their efforts. A bright shockwave of pure energy blasted through the waves of Shadowreavers as the Mages formed a repeating barrier, pushing away the creatures of Darkness, the Council members putting their specialised skills to work, horrific wounds bursting out across the Demonic creatures' hides as they attacked, blasts of white energy engulfing the battlefield wherever Shadowreavers seemed to be overwhelming their opponents, the blasts acting like Demon-centric bombs, blowing them apart...

Septimus meanwhile had turned his attention on the airborne abominations, the Dragon shooting through the sky at breakneck speeds, whitish blue fireballs roaring through the air and exploding on impact with the Hueilin's ill-fated victims, numerous Gryphons being entirely incinerated, a few others having their torsos reduced to ash nearly on impact, the smoldering corpses plummeting to the ground below as Septimus watched for a new primary target...
