Once more, the projectile hurtled into Dhoulmagus, this time with greater accuracy, the operators knowing where he was for sure. Adjusting their aim, this shot was sent into the upper portion of the Dream Eater's neck, the bolt sliding up into the creature's head at an angle.

"Prepare yourself Desrium. Our foes stand below" boomed Septimus over the roar of battle as he flew high above the pass within which the Greater Shadowreavers fought the mages, the Dragon flipping as he went into a vertical dive, his eyes flaring brightly as whitish flames pooled around the brims of his jaws, electrical arcs crackling around his skull as he dove at nearly impossible speeds from the immense height at which he flew, a crackling fiery beam slamming down directly over the head of one of the Shadowreavers, the sheer power of the magically enhanced blast cleaving the monstrosity in two before carving a path of destruction across the ground beneath it, towards its brethren, a white hot molten scar carved into the earth in the beam's wake, electrical arcs crackling around the beam for a few feet as the Hueilin arced upwards, levelling out with a powerful wing-beat over the battlefield, a heated gust of dust-clouded wind being blown outwards beneath him as he arced upwards...

By now, the artillery barrage had begun pummelling the oncoming Shadowreaver horde, blasts of flame and jagged shards of smashed boulders exploding all around them, as, nearer to the allied ranks, the screams of agony and terror rang out amidst the roars and battlecries of thousands of soldiers, as Valenhadian Knight, Barari Warrior and Zuppolandian Chevalier clashed with the Shadowreavers. Andruil stood amidst the forces, his blade slashing through one foe as he swung the broad surface of his shield into another, his feral yellow eyes glowing dangerously, his teeth bared, revealing they had become pointed, the power of the Beast Within fuelling his supernatural speed and strength. At his side, Bassunka swung his blade-staff in hand, a flurry of slashes raining down on his opponent in rapid succession before the staff swung out, the blunt edge of it cracking violently against the skull of his shadowy opponent and knocking it to the floor, a blade coming down through its chest as the Zuppolandian General continued his onslaught on his other targets. His saw-blade-like pouldrons and serrated gauntlet edges were soaked in the blood of his foes, shadowy wisps flowing from them eerily. A few feet away, the furious roar of the Barari Manticore tore out across the field of combat as it lunged at one of the larger Shadowreavers, pinning it to the floor as the rider's blade impaled another, blade upwards, before ripping up and cleaving its torso in two, the Barari King giving no quarter for his enemies, his two secondary blades tearing into any opponent foolish enough to attempt to come close. Meanwhile, streams of blood-red flames flowing from the Manticore's mouth, setting ablaze all in its path as its barbed, flail-like tail swept through any attacker moving up from behind, those poor victims unlucky enough to get struck having their torsos cave in in seconds from the soul destroying, necrotic effects of the magical venom. All around him, the highly trained Barari Warriors clashed with their shadowy opponents, blood soaking the soil, both their own and their enemies', the Shadowreavers' charge slowly grinding to a halt as the armies regrouped and reorganised their attack. pillars of white light tore through the enemy ranks as the mages supporting the soldiers targeted the most powerful opponents in sight, often times with repurposed projectiles from their brethren, orbs of pure white energy soaring over the battlefield, a trail of black, shadowy energy in their wake. Several of the Mages had already fallen to enemy attacks, mostly those of the Barari and Zuppolandian forces, the Council Mages being considerably more capable in the face of the Demonic onslaught, having been trained for decades, if not centuries, to face such creatures. On the front lines, volleys of arrows brought down the charging husks, fireballs raining from the sky as the squadrons of Valenhadian War-Dragons patrolled above, the line holding firm in spite of considerable losses. Every soldier knew the stakes. If they faltered now, all of Aster would pay the price. The barking orders and rallying cries of their Commanders, along with the violent retaliations their allies were giving to the enemies boosted their morale when they needed it most. This battle was unlike anything Aster had ever seen. A waking nightmare the likes of which not even the most tormented mind could imagine...

Back on the cliff, Arashi had raised his arms upwards, rearing on his hind legs, his runes having turned from bluish white to a rich golden white colour, his eyes taking on the colour of the most intense of lightning bolts, The Stormweaver pouring unholy amounts of energy into channelling the ley lines, soon becoming the equivalent of two of the groups surrounding him, covering for other mages in their group should the need arise for a number of them to take up defense of their position...

As Septimus rocketed into the air, Desrium forced himself off of his back, going end over end once before coming to a hover above the pass. The glow of the Scholar's beam was still visible through the murk of dust and the filter of blackness that limited his visibility to little more than 15 feet. He gathered his power in his palm, creating an orb that constantly shifted colors in a prismatic display. He swung his arm around in a sweeping motion, sending a cascading crescent of energy down into the oncoming giants, the magical sickle capable of slicing through even armored hide without resistance.

Vix was a whirlwind of motion, throwing everything she'd ever been taught into the fight. Her fighting style was almost as much a dance as it was a weapon - spinning on one foot, she turned her hips over and landed a hard kick to one enemy's head that knocked it back a step or two and snapped its neck cleanly. In the seconds it took its head to spin around 180 degrees and for it to recover from the blow, she had both feet on the ground again, had dropped into a crouch and was following up with a rapid, low spinning sweep kick that knocked its feet out from under it. Leaving it to be finished off rather than focusing her attention on it alone, she turned to see where the next attacker would come from. She would rather not let their foes get close enough that she would have to use her daggers, but she held one at the ready just in case..

Kard was nearly pounded by the spiked tail of Rattlebones, which was evaded by Spiritjaw. The soul tiger snarled as he leaped onto the skeletal wyvern's side, chipping some of the ribs in the process. For a soul tiger, Spiritjaw was heavy, and was a sized tiger to begin with. Rattlebones roared, shaking wildly, bucking, attempting to throw the tiger off. The skeletal wyvern the proceeded to grab the tiger in his talons, ramming the beast against the wall, flying upwards, then tossing the tiger into the floor. Spiritjaw roared as he stood.

"Damn! I keep missing!" Cyris shouted as she fired another bolt, nearly hitting Icil's leg.

"Holy ****!" Icil exclaimed. It wasn't like her to curse, but at a time like this, she was surprised that she wasn't cursing in every sentence she would say. Rattlebones fired a blast of ice magic at the soul tiger, missing, the blizzard-like orb hitting the wall, causing ice and snow to form on it. It was a chaotic battle in the tower...

Swatting aside a few more of the Draxonian soldiers, Zazikel finally took off, leaving the rest of them to be swamped by Eredar's mutants. He had bigger fish to fry: namely, the army that was now caught up between two attacking forces...

"Well well well, if it isn't the heart of Aster's grief!" Discord announced jovially, floating down towards Eredar himself, outwardly appearing unfazed at the sight of the god...

"My power may be impaired, BUT MY WILL REMAINS FREE," the Traitor God roared, as the blackened air around Discord intensified, his surroundings disappearing entirely. Even the massive form of the immortal before him disappeared, leaving him completely alone in the dark.

Icil scampered back up the stairs, nearly crashing into Kard in the process.

Rattlebones snarled as he charged at Spiritjaw again, now surrounded by ice magic. If hit, Spiritjaw could not only be frozen, but shattered from the impact at the same time. The soul tiger quickly leaped out of the way, roaring as the wyvern left a large circle of frost on the wall as soon as his head crashed into it.

Discord raised his hands defensively, as if he could still see the Traitor before him. "Hey now, why the hide and seek? I just want to have a little talk! I know better than to screw with a big powerful immortal like you..." he crowed, playing towards Eredar's arrogance. After all, even the gods themselves had weaknesses...

"What is it that you fear, chimera?" Eredar's voice echoed all around him, coming from no where and everywhere at once, ignorant to Discord's words. "The harm of those you love? No, you are incapable of loving anyone other than yourself," the immortal continued, its voice dangerously calm, though it was notably forced. The Traitor God was still absolutely furious, but seemed to be working to one end or another with Discord. "Death? No...you have cheated it many times," Eredar's voice echoed. "Perhaps it is being alone that you fear. The idea that no one will be there for you to torture, for you to toy with. Endless misery...in unending silence."

The voice laughed harshly, before going completely quiet.

Agamemnon replied to the dragon's meager efforts by sending out a pulse of energy, which blasted out from the shadowy monster like a nuclear blast. The power of the blast tore the dragon's claws out of the eldritch creature's body, before the dragon was peirced by a thin beam of shadowy magic, peircing through the dragon's torso. Seconds afterward, Agamemnon swooped overhead, raining down shadowy orbs from his body, each homing in on the dragon and aiming to drain his life force...

The bolt seemed to have little affect on the monster, aside from, quite obviously, inflicting a large amount of pain to him. Dhoulmagus snarled in pain and anger, once more yanking the bolt with one of his rear tentacles, sickly black essence (presumbably his blood) staining the bolt, as one of his front limbs quickly shot out under where the mace was swung, snagging Radamand's leg and yanking it out from under him, flooring the giant. Dhoulmagus then shuffled forward, the tentacle that snagged the giant's leg now whipping out and aiming to incapacitate the giant's mace arm, while another aims to grapple the giant's other hand, and one more was brought down towards the stony giant's face to crush it...

The greater shadowreavers in the valley had little time to react. The one that had lost his wings was cleaved clean in two by the blast, his form dissolving into the shadows, as the beam sweeped across the other two. From the blinding flash of light, fire, and lightning, a cry erupted before the two shot out, forms sparking with the powerful energy. The creatures were in obvious pain, but pursued Septimus in their rage, one firing a trio of shadowy orbs that pursued septimus almost as relentlessly as they did, while the other's mouth became aglow, before a purplish ray fired from his maw, slicing across the dragon's back and sweeping towards Desrium...

The shadowreavers pushed just as hard against their mortal foes, steel meeting shadow, flesh meeting shadowy energy, eldritch hide meeting metal. The shadowreavers pelted their foe's with magic and brute force. Barari, Zuppolandian, and Valenhadian warrirors and their siege engines had proven their worth: the shadowreavers' advance had been brought to a halt. The manticore was suddenly gang attacked by no less than seven of the larger shadowreavers, the massive eldritch warriors cleaving their blades into its flesh and blasting their foe with their magic, quickly overpowering the brave creature and his heroic rider. Andruil and bassunka were soon approached by a trully massive shadowreaver- possibly one of the greater shadowreavers that was not currently fighting in the air- before twin shadowy blades, easily as long and wide as each of their bodies, appeared in the twenty foot monstrosity's hands. With a roar, the brute swatted aside a couple of his own troops before he swung his blades horizontally towards the two...

Surrounded and low on troops, the Draxon's soon began their battle agaisnt their foes, charing towards their foes with shields raised. Exhaustion and loss of men weakened their morale, but the thought of a heroic battle or, at the worst, death, gave them the inspiration to keep fighting the monstrosities before them. Draxon steelwork tore into the mutants' flesh and bones easily, the mighty weapons cutting through them easily. Archers pelted the monsters, settign them aflame, as heavy stones crushed many of the mutants. The general breathed fire upon the monsters and cut them apart with his falchion-esque sword. The Draxons would fight for as long they could...

Nitsunobue flung the mutants about, but just then, he saw and smelled Zazikel pass overhead, heading towards the main alliance's army. His eyes filled with rage, and his mind became overwhelmed by Anarchy.

"GO, NITSUNOBUE- FIGHT HIM! HE HAS DESTROYED YOUR FRIENDSHIPS, AND PLANS TO RUIN ALL LIFE ON ASTER! SPREAD YOUR WINGS, AS YOUR ANCESTORS ONCE DID! PURSUE HIM, AND HOLD HIM OFF FOR YOUR ALLIES! IT IS THEIR ONLY HOPE!" Anarchy bellowed. "I SHALL GIVE YOU MY STRENGTH- GO, GO AND FIGHT HIM!"

"Archdemon..." Nitsunobue growled. His mind became polluted with rage and a taste for vengeance. Yet, even as Anarchy's power took over, he never let go what was important to him: his friends. For the first time in centuries, Nitsunobue spread his mighty pinions, before he beast his wings, taking off up from the ground. Shortly after, the wyvern landed on the central cliff, before he took off once more, pursuing the Archdemon.

"ARCHDEMON!" He roared into the air. "COME AND FIGHT ME, ARCHDEMON!"

"Into the catacombs, quick!" Kard yelled as he poitned towards the door opposite of the one they had entered...

Discord crossed his arms, frowning. "Well now, I guess I haven't given you too much credit, huh? You're almost as malicious as I am! Come on, let's stop messing around. I just wanted to ask a few questions. It could very much be worth your while. In case you haven't noticed, the locals aren't exactly happy, and they seem to know how to get rid of you. Don't you want an advantage?" He hid his irritation behind his words, well aware of what Eredar was trying to pull. It was exactly what he had done to many mortals before...

Zaziekl certainly heard Nitsunobue's furious bellow, and turned, smiling. The first of many for him to wreak his vengeance upon. He had made many enemies, and it was time to cross them all off his list. "Then come, wyvern! Let me show you what I did to your precious forest personally!"

With furious determination and ignorance to its wounds, the dragon shot upward like a bullet, spiraling around the orbs with only inches between himself and the deadly energy. Before Agmemnon could realize what had just happened, two clawed hands collided forcefully with its midsection, sinking deep into its shadowy hide with the impact. The momentum of the dragon did not stop, however, as both shot higher and higher, the dragon's claws digging further and further into the shadowreaver's body.

With extreme precision and speed, Radamand smashed apart the first tentacle with a single swing of his mace, backhanded the other to follow up, and swung again at the midsection of the third tendril, causing it to crumple in a heap. Leaping to his feet, Radamand began to approach the monstrosity before him with deadly determination, his mace gripped tightly in one hand.

Four massive claws, each the length of the General's sword, suddenly shoved their way through his chest, piercing the scales on both sides with ease. "You...have chosen poorly..." a voice in the dark drawled, laughing maniacally as the General was hoisted up into the air by a hideous creature. With a skinless skull shrouded in flame-like shadows, the creature was almost the size of an ordinary dragon, with over sized arms and pale gray skin on most of its body. One of the few remaining Draxonian catapults suddenly had its primary weapon cut in half, the bottom half of the weapon moving uselessly as they attempted to fire it. The remaining siege weapons suffered similar fates, dismantled in seconds with their operators screaming in terror as the darkness around them struck out...

For Discord, there was only silence. Not even the sounds of battle reached his ears. There was only the silent dark waiting for him.

Icil scampered into the catacombs, barely evading Rattlebones's tail. The succubus fired another dark orb like she did earlier, this time hitting Cyris in the stomach, knocking her into the wall.

Discord rolled his eyes. "The cold shoulder treatment, hm? I see how it is. I guess you don't want any help. I was stuck in a statue for years; I think I can stick around here until you're destroyed, and then nobody wins! Nobody interesting, anyway..." Rattlebones swooped at Spiritjaw, only to get the ghostly cat on his ankle. The skeletal wyvern snarled, managing to throw Spiritjaw off of his leg with his jaws, then proceeding to charge at Spiritjaw while he was on his side. The soul tiger had enough with the charges, which leaded into the beast leaping onto the wyvern's head, slashing and biting at the skull of its opponent...

the Manticore bellowed as the Shadowreavers attacked, tackling one to the ground, its monstrous fangs tearing the monstrosity's head clean off, it's long, whip-like tail swinging into another, the barbs digging in deeply as the Shadowreaver's torso began to cave inwards, the venom spreading outwards as it ate away at the Shadowreaver's hide, threatening to split the monstrosity in two. The beast reared on its hind legs, its claws slashing at a third as its roaring leonine head unleashed a stream of flames that burned away at a fourth's very soul, Antar leaping from the back of his war beast, swords drawn as he slammed them into the glowing red eyes of the fifth, using the shadowy sockets as platforms, his hilts as acrobatic poles as he launched himself into the air once more, flipping backwards and landing on the floor several feet from the beasts, the ranks of Barari Warriors around him tearing apart the Shadowreavers that had attacked their King and his mount, blades, arrows and artillery raining down on the horde as the furious bellows of the weakened Manticore rang out over the roar of battle, two pillars of searing white energy slamming into the Shadowreavers in the Manticore's immediate vicinity, the Mercutio Council Mages providing support for their allies as the Manticore leapt free of its attackers, pinning down one while the Mage distracted it, tearing it apart with its gargantuan talons, before leaping into the air, draconic wings beating powerfully as it returned to its master, battered and scarred, but alive, and ready to continue its assault, Antar reaching an arm up as it flew over him, latching onto one of it's clawed limbs and swinging himself back onto its back, taking to the air...

Andruil meanwhile snarled as he dove under the incoming blade, Bassunka doing likewise in the opposite direction, leaving the two blades to clash loudly as Andruil spun round, leaping hard as he latched onto the beast's back, his sword acting as an anchor, as Bassunka slammed one bladed end of his double-headed blade-staff into the Shadowreaver's foot, practically pole-vaulting up and over the beast's head, landing on the monstrosity's head as he drew two curved, jagged blades from sheaths at his sides, the blades shimmering with arcane energy as they were jammed through the beast's skull...

Septimus roared in pain as the shadowy beam lashed down his back, a greyish scorch-like scar running along his obsidian back-scales, the Scholar twisting in mid air as dark purple energy swirled violently around his arm, the Hueilin swinging a taloned hand out, a wave of shadowy purple energy flowing forwards, electrical arcs jumping across them like a cross section of a thunderstorm, the wave striking the orbs, sending them flying back at the Shadowreavers at over twice their original speed, the orbs crackling with focused electrical energy as they smashed into the attackers, Septimus arcing upwards as he accelerated, putting more distance between himself and the Shadowreavers, making use of his immense speed...

Desrium spun to the side and out of the way of the beam, raising further up into the air to prevent the Shadowreaver from sweeping it across his metal form. Knowing where the ray came from, Desrium concentrated his power again and sent it forth as the instantaneous beam at its source. In seconds it crossed the distance between him and the shadow creature...

...but he did not know the ray came from the beast's mouth. The Shadowreaver, in its last moments of life would have felt searing pain as the beam shot through its head, carving a tunnel through when it vaporized its contents.

Nitsunobue, flapping his wings, ascending upwards, before he dove down towards zazikel like a meteorite, horns pointed forward.

"I'LL KILL YOU!" Nitsunobue roared.

Agamemnon roared, eyes glimmering in the dark, before his maw filled with blackened magic. A beam of purple magic fired from the eldritch monster's maw, as the beam fired right into the dragon's face, the power of the blast sending the dragon flying in the complete opposite direction. Slithering in quick, Agamemnon soon latched onto the dragon, his beak-like jaws clamping down onto the scaly beast before he serpentine body wrapped around him. The shadowreaver's moth-like wings continued beating, working to keep them aloft, as the king fed on his prey, hungering for the being's soul...

Dhoulmagus snarled in pain, tentacles writhing about, audible snapping sounds heard by both the giant and the magical anomoly as his tentacles slowly began to regenerate. He needed to feed, but who shall he feed upon? Certainly not the giant, though perhaps he could get some energy to help him along. A deadly black mist was exhaled from dhoulmagus' maw, the inky essence clinging to the giant's stony flesh, eating away at some of the heroic being's own essence to feed the tentacled menace. To buy his tentacles more time to heal (so he could grab Radamand once more, since the damage caused damaged his tentacles' gripping power), Dhoulmagus unleashed his cloud of incapacitating gas, the pinkish plume covering the area the two fought. Though the gas had no effect on the stony titan, it gave Dhoulmagus the advantage he needed by decreasing Radamand's vision range more than it was by the darkness. Under the cover of his gas, Dhoulmagus slammed Radamand from behind with one tentacle, before he tripped the giant as he stumbled forward. Dhoulmagus soon slithered back, waiting for the pinkish plume to dissapate, and for Radamand to approach, the Dream Eater's tentacles nearly returning to their normal state... but for now, they were simply fleshy bludgeons...

The general gasped, eyes becoming wide, as the man soon returned to his normal form. He glanced back at his foe, croaking out, "Perhaps... but you will... not... win..." The general soon went limp...

A nightmarish howl rung in the air, as another Greater Shadowreaver broke from the ranks and pursued the king upon his steed, eyes glowing. The shadowreavers below, having suffered heavy casualties, nonetheless continued to fight ferociously, using their bulk to fight smaller mortals, or still firing at their foes with shadow magic. The beasts would not falter... not yet, at least. They still had massive numbers to withstand their opponents' technology... it was only a matter of time before they broke through.

The greater shadowreaver howled in pain, dropping both of his blades, as he reached up and grabbed Bassunka in one hand, and Andruil in another. Glowing purple blood running down its temple and from its back, the titan bashed the two warriors together repeatedly, before flinging them back into their ranks, picking his blades up in the process.

"UT'TUN CAGRAK (worthless mortals)," the beast snarled in its dark language, as it stomped towards them, swatting aside friend and foe alike to reach them...

The Greater Shadowreaver struck by Desrium's beam dissolved into blackness, soon being absorbed into the darkness surrounding them all. The remaining one, however, was angrier than ever, pained from the dragon's coutner attack and from the first assault. A purple sphere gathered in one hand, before it thrust its fist foward, a purple beam firing out and narrowly missing Septimus and desrium.

"TEIN, GRU'FUL CAGRAK! (die, foolish mortals)" the creature bellwoed as it swept the beam towards the two, the beam managing to snag the tip of Septimus' tail...

Kard sprinted ahead of Icil, moving surprisingly quick for a man having an old person wrapped wround his shoulders. He soon opened the doorway to let Icil enter, hoping Cyris didn't fire an arrow in the meantime...

The dragon wrapped its claws around the shadowreaver's head, tearing massive wounds into the sides of its head, damaging both its eyes in the process. The energy field that surrounded the beast was so intense that it began to melt Agamemnon's coils after they were wrapped around it. With a savage growl, the dragon began digging its claws further and further into its enemy's skull, using the weak flesh near the eyes to puncture even further. Unseen by all, there was a power struggle occurring between the two, as the dragon attempted to drain the life force of his foe, and his foe did the same to him...

Falling forward, Radamand brought his legs up, slamming his knees into the tentacle that tripped him before it could slither completely away, preventing his foe from moving too far away. Turning, his eyes burning, the giant got swiftly to his feet, freeing the tentacle, as he smashed his mace against the side of Dhoulmagus' head, dislodging numerous teeth in the process.
