The doppelganger's blade whirled through the darkness, slicing into Desrium's shoulder as it passed. From within the darkness and the dust charged the shadowy being, crazed like an animal, before barreling into the Blood Omen before he could act.
Arashi's clawed hand began to glow, the wyrm back-handing the fireball with the limb, batting it away harmlessly before the energy dissipated. With a quick gesture, the collected lightning exploded into a cloud of static energy.
This was bad. Tzeentch had been watching the conflict between Zazikel and the wyvern. The archdemon was toying with it, that much she could tell. Only now did she understand just how powerful Zazikel had become. He was beyond any one of them, and the amount of forces they would need to bring him down would cripple their defenses. It was not an option. Even having the wyvern fight against him would cost them many lives, as the beast was no longer assisting in the defense of the perimeter. And now, it may not retreat even though it stands no chance, due to foolish determination. She could not allow this. She had to act.
But she was even less of a threat than the wyvern. Her encounter with the Traitor God diminished her power greatly, and she did not have the time to gather it again. She was not, however, without options. She knew the risk of what she must do, but it was the only way Aster would survive. "You're in command of communications now," she stated to one of the nearby battle mages, who looked at her, clearly confused.
"What are you going to do?"
"Remember our objective. Stay on task, no matter what happens," the changeling ordered firmly, prompting the mage to nod. "Wyvern, it is time for you to retreat. I will deal with Zazikel. You must help the others. If you continue to fight him, the archdemon and his master will win this day," Tzeentch mentally contacted Nitsunobue, the urgency evident in her tone, though she did not wait for a reply. It was then that she took the lay energies into herself.
The sensation was indescribable. The power at her fingertips was beyond anything she could imagine. The hood of the changeling melted away as the power flowed throughout her body. She felt as though the world was hers for the taking, but already she could feel the energies beginning to dissolve her very essence. There was no escape from this. Her nature as an elemental of magic was the only thing that kept her from being destroyed on the spot. Her fate was inevitable, but she would use this power to hold Zazikel at bay. This was her purpose. The Bringer of Change and the Dragon of Chaos. They would meet in battle once more.
"ZAZIKEL!" Tzeentch roared as her mortal form exploded into a blazing shower of light, dispelling the darkness around her form for an instant, her voice distorted and extremely low. The true being of the Changer of Ways was revealed once more: A massive serpent comprised of pure mana. The "skin" of the creature was patchy at best, as the energies raging within her threatened to tear her apart. The mana serpent's eyes were like miniature suns, the incredible energy dwelling within the creature visible in its unblinking gaze. "WE HAVE UNFINISHED BUSINESS."
