The elderly Frondfoot's claws tore through the worm's flesh as she was knocked off but she quickly secured her jaws on its hide split seconds after, holding her in place long enough to regain her hold on the mutant. Her arms wrapped around it, holding it in place as it tried to pierce the ground while Urlox released it, jumping off and twisting in the air to swing his sword down at where the viking cracked it's chitin...

Although slowed by the Frondfoot's efforts, the mutated fiend was far too powerful to be completely stopped by the smaller creature. Before it could move its head into the dead earth beneath them, however, Urlox's blade pierced the blighted brain of the worm through the crack in its armor, causing it to thrash wildly. Just as soon as the violent motions began, they abruptly ended, the mutant laying completely still and lifeless.

Bardia pushed her self off of the chitinous monstrosity, looking for her rider in the pitch black murk. Where her eyes failed, her ears compensated, hearing the thudding of his boots not too far away.

"Oi! Oi!" Urlox called out as he closed in on the Vanguard leader, skidding to a stop and then dropping onto his knees beside the fallen warrior. He inspected the grievous damage inflicted upon the man, grasping at the tendril impaled in him with shaking hands. Was there anything he could do now, to save such a valiant fighter? "Damn it all!" Urlox muttered through clenched jaws.

Thuds and thumping reached his ears from all around him as his reptilian steed kept the corrupted foot soldiers at bay, fighting the never ending and taking the blows against her scaly hide like a champion... for as long as she could

The viking did not stir. His chest did not rise and fall with the telltale signs of life. His eyes were open, staring almost humorously at the tendril impaled in his chest. His grip on the axe, however, was as tight as ever, as if even in death the leader of Vanguard was ready to fight.

Urlox wiped a leather gauntlet over the viking's face, closing his eyes while doing so and then removed the mutant's leg from his chest. It was not the first time he had to perform rites for a fellow soldier. It wasn't at all easier now than it was in the past. After giving his departed warrior a silent farewell and tidings of good fortune in the realm after Urlox took the axe the man held so firmly, gingerly easing his grip before removing the weapon. "I will see to it that this gets to your men, I assure you" the Captain of the Guard said softly before lifting the fallen leader and barking "Bardia!"

The elder Frondfoot thundered through the darkness in galloping strides, coming to a sliding stop behind her rider. She was bleeding heavily and the spots on her side not covered by armor were beginning to bruise. Paying her wounds no mind, Bardia stood tall and strong. With haste, Urlox laid the viking on her back and climbed back onto his mount. With a pat on her shoulders, Urlox sent the Frondfoot powering away from the site, heading away from the front lines...

Tetto'eko smirked at Andruil. "What's this? Speechless? I thought I would never see the day, Andruil," he teased. The Skink folded his arms in his lap and closed his eyes, as if basking in the silence...

Zazikel constantly turned to keep Tzeentch in his sights, eyes blazing with anger. "You cannot possibly think you can destroy me?! I am more powerful than you can imagine! I--" Suddenly, as if a switch had been thrown, Zazikel grabbed his head and grimaced, snarling bestially and struggling against some unseen force. Hands still clutching his head, Zazikel opened his eyes, only they were now green, with round black pupils, and they stared at Tzeentch imploringly. He hissed two words, sounding as if he was struggling to breathe: "Help... me..."

"I will set you free," Tzeentch responded, her voice once again distorted and otherworldly. The elemental gathered her energy once more, spewing a bright beam directly at Zazikel...

Andruil was only barely paying attention to the Skink, as he swung his blade upwards, cleaving an abomination's arm clean off as it reached out for him, before swinging the severed arm into it's face, knocking it back, the Knight twisting with an inhuman snarl as he cleaved the monstrosity diagonally in two, knocking the two parts away as his eyes shimmered menacingly. Tossing the severed limb at the Skink, he called back "Less talking, more fighting. These things do not even have morale. You could bring down the heavens themselves on they will keep coming". Tetto'eko's attack had indeed been powerful. Against any normal foe, it may well cause those in the surrounding area to route out of sheer horror. But this was no normal foe...

Tetto'eko incinerated the arm with a blast of lightning, replying, "Trust me, once I recharge somewhat, I will be of more assistance. The Comet is... draining, to say the least."

Zazikel twitched again, his face becoming a bestial snarl once more. "NO!" he boomed, colliding Tzeentch's beam with his own from his jaws. The aura of power around him grew further, as the Archdemon controlling the dragon put more effort into sustaining his beam...

"And that makes it perfectly alright to waste your energy on a lifeless limb" said Andruil with a smirk as he spun, swinging the blade diagonally into an oncoming beast's neck, beheading it as he thrust himself into it with a shoulder, the beast banging loudly off his pouldron as it fell to the floor, twitching as its body tried to continue moving, before falling still...

Tzeentch fought back as hard as she could, investing more and more energy into the attack. Although at a very slow pace, the changeling knew she was slowly losing the power struggle. But this would keep Zazikel busy...she had to hold out as long as possible...

"You can never be too careful with these creatures," Tetto'eko hissed, sending several more bolts of lightning arcing into the horde around them...

Zazikel did not budge an inch, putting as much power as he could into the attack. It slowed down his regeneration, but it did not matter. Once Tzeentch was dealt with, he could worry about growing a new wing...

A tendril of the oppressive mist snaked out from Tetto'eko's side, sliding along the ground like a snake. The limb suddenly solidified, the ash-gray tail wrapping itself around the Astromancer's foot. With one yank, the limb floored Tetto'eko and began dragging him toward the darkness, away from Andruil. At the same time, a massive mutated troll thundered its way through the crowd of mutants, raising a massive deadened tree trunk above its head as it approached Andruil.

The front lines were being pushed further and further back on both sides. Try as they might, the defenders were not limitless like their unholy foes...

Andruil snarled as his eyes widened at the Troll, diving off to the side and out of the way as it's tree-trunk club swung down at him, the man evading the swing as he hit the ground, rolling into a crouch...

Tetto'eko's palanquin was very similar to those of the Slann, albeit weaker in power, but it still had magical defenses that zapped the tentacle as soon as it attempted to attack the Skink riding it, singing the tendril immediately...

The deadened ground exploded into a cloud of dirt and ash as the trunk collided with the earth, making a small crater where it had struck. The troll gurgled mindlessly as it swung its free hand at Andruil, attempting to backhand him.

The electricity coursed through the limb, causing it to release Tetto'eko, but not before pulling the skink off of the palanquin itself. The full form of the owner of said limb loomed above him, an eyeless head with a horrific toothy grin barely visible in the darkness.

Andruil leapt upwards as the arm swung towards him, leaping over the limb before driving his blade down into it, latching on as it swung past where he had been moments ago, the Knight holding on tightly as he withdrew his sword, leaping further up the arm, causing as much damage as he could en-route...

Cyris fired a bolt into the stomach of the undead, aiming to distract it rather than actually wound it at this point...

Icil continued upstairs, following Kard and Ivan, preparing to reach Soul Calibur...

The undead being let out a low hiss, stumbling back from the bolt, before it danced towards Cyris...

The duo soon came to the 60th floor, when an odd voice entered all their minds.

"Well, if it isn't Algol's plaything.. it has been an eternity since I have seen your face. And I see you have brought friends as well!"

"Who are you? Show yourself!" Ivan shouted.

"In due time, Ivan. In due time. Meanwhile, why don't I introduce you to some odl friends of mine?"

Suddenly, four skeletons, two with shields and handaxes, one with a two handed sword, and one with dual blades, arose from the earth. Each had a bluish hew to them, as if magic was holding them together.

"You people play nice now.. it would be a shame if anything happened to you..."

The vocie disappeared, before the skeletons lugned towards the trio...

Icil fired a blast of magic at one of the skeletons, aiming to knock the bones off of the tower, thus to shatter them. She could feel darkness overwhelming her slowly. Her Ancestral form would soon come to life once again...

Cyris rammed her dagger into the side of the zombie's head as she dashed by, then spinning around to face it again. She would eliminate this foe as quickly as possible...
