"Death Valley. Troodon pack in an underground cave system," Sharpclaw began quickly. "They took our home from us, and we have been living in the jungles ever since. We wish to get our home back."

"Much better. Could you take us to your pack? Probably better we get a proper idea of what kind of forces we're dealing with here. We won't be able to take the Troodon on our own" hissed Fatalis, pleased they were getting somewhere...

Sharpclaw nodded. "We're hiding in a small cave not too far from here," he hissed. "I'll lead the way." With that, he turned and walked back the way he had came. He was still cautious, however. These raptors were awfully eager to help. Then again, if they tried anything, he would have a major numbers advantage when they got to the cave...

Maloriak followed Sharpclaw, going over in his head what the Albino had revealed at the request of the raptor in the trees. He had encountered Troodon himself, but they hadn't been in a pack and thus, had not given him any trouble. The ones mentioned by the Albino must have been both particularly cunning and in a very large pack if they had managed to drive a Raptor pack out of their territory. For now, though, he would hold off on asking questions until they got to the cave Sharpclaw said his pack was in...

Fatalis pursued, moving through the trees as they made their way to the Raptor Pack's current location. He went through the details he had learned about Troodon over the years he had spent roaming the jungles, from their hunting techniques and strategies, to their venom and the cure for it. What made it especially awkward was that the cure was a plant, typically found around lakes and ponds. Death Valley, by contrast, was relatively arid, and likely lacked it. That meant they would have to bring leaves from the plant with them to the fight...it made things particularly....treacherous...

"I'll be around, Darkness. You know me. I don't like to stay still for too long. I'll be within easy reach though. I'll try not to drift too far from you or Steeltalon" growled the Rex with a nod to his companion, deciding to make his way for a spring he had smelt nearby on his way to the kill...he needed to wash off the blood so that it didn't become a lure for potential threats...

"Good luck," Darkness growled, his voice muffled as he continued to tear into his meal.

Prowling the heavy shrubbery of the jungle, the dynamic duo, and beloved couple, Goldfang and Pale Kaiser searched for a place to call home. They had eaten well recently, thanks to the Sauropod hunt, and also had little to fear short of a super predator. Now, they saught out new territory...

Three hours later, Fatalis found himself bringing supplies to the cave in which the Raptors resided. The fact it turned out some were already poisoned complicated things, and he had been forced to depart in search of the plant leaves that he knew were capable of curing their ailment...

When his eyelids finally peeled apart, what he saw was a blur of green amidst white and blue. His head his pounding. Aircrest groaned. This was far from a restful sleep. His vision focused, the muddle of green becoming the leaves and branches around him, the light of the passing day shining through.

The green raptor stood, his once aching body just a little sore now. Even with the headache, he was in better condition now than he was before. He wasn't hungry upon his awakening, which was something of a rarity for him. He wouldn't have to go looking for scraps or small game to eat after his Diplodocus feast. He was, however, quite thirsty.

He scented the air and it was not long before the smell of water drifting into his nostrils. A water source was not far away at all from where he was. It was located around where he had left the gigantic kill, meaning he'd have to back trace his steps and risk. running into a lingering predator; but he didn't really care. He would outrun them as he had countless others. All he was focused on was easing the pain of his splitting headache and wetting his dry throat.

Other than Sharpclaw and his scouts earlier, none of the pack was fully aware of the envenomed female safely squirreled away in the back of the caves. As leader, Sharpclaw didn't want to cause panic in his pack. They would all discover the truth in due time, but not now. As a result, the guards outside the cave had been given strict orders to give Fatalis and Maloriak free reign of the cave system, but no one was told why. The Albinos, for the most part, were okay with it, as the newcomers didn't seem hostile so far, and Sharpclaw hadn't steered them wrong yet...

Maloriak had noticed that Fatalis was leaving the cave and returning with leaves that he had seen about lakes and ponds. Normally, he would have been puzzled as to why the other raptor was bringing back leaves and seemingly not putting them to use for constructing a nest. However, after Sharpclaw had told him about the Troodon pack, he now understood what Fatalis was doing gathering these particular leaves:they could cure the venom from a Troodon's bite...

Before long, Fatalis had gathered a decent supply of the leaves, their rubbery consistency strange on the tongue. Walking through the cave, he made a beeline for Sharpclaw, intending to discuss their next move...

Crusher meanwhile, found himself, once again, alone and roaming. Funny what boredom could do to one's priorities. Sitting with Darkness, as comforting as it was, didn't satisfy his need to explore. So now he found himself walking through jungle, a considerable distance from where he had last seen either Steeltalon or Darkness. He was being drawn to the scent of blood....and something else he didn't quite recognise...

Sharpclaw waited in one of the back caverns, away from the prying eyes of his packmates. Fatalis knew where to find him and his unfortunate patient...

The muscular form of a massive Tarbosaurus marched through the trees, eyes shiftign about and head searching. The massive beast soon came to the area where his prey congregated... the mighty hadrosaur! The tarbosaurus hid as best he could amongst the trees, eyes shifting about as he searched for the best prey to devour...

Maloriak noticed Fatalis heading towards the back of the cave, in the direction Sharpclaw had gone. Guessing that the other loner was going to speak to the Albino leader since he had now stopped heading out and coming back with leaves, the green and brown raptor followed him. If something important was going to be brought up, then he wanted to know what it was before they made any moves against the Troodon...

Shade suddenly felt something tingling inside of her... burning, so to speak. Her instincts were kicking in, telling her to hunt something or someone down. And suddenly, she remembered: Fatalis...

Meanwhile, Mars's half eaten corpse was by now shrouded with hordes of Compsognathus...

"How long has she been in this state?" asked Fatalis as he approached, setting the leaves down near the ill Raptor, taking one and shredding it with his teeth in order to make it somewhat more consumable for the paralysed dromeosaur...

It wasn't long before Crusher found the source of the scents, the young Rex staring on in shock at what lay before him. A small, honeycombed cave running along the foot of a cliff face could be seen, running alongside a river; one of many such formations dotting the island's rivers. the insides of the formation were well lit, with the many openings helping cast light into the cave. Moss, lichen and leaf-covered vines covered the walls around the caves, and the few trees between it and the water; but the natural beauty of the place did nothing to blunt the impact of the horror of what had happened here. Blood stained the lichen-covered walls, mangled corpses of Velociraptors were strewn left and right, eviscerated, dismembered or simply flayed of their hides, some with crushed skulls, limbs and ribcages, many having limbs and body parts broken in such a way the bones protruded from the flesh. Numerous ones were half eaten, and the few chicks around the cave's premises were often trampled or ripped in half. It made even the Trike attack on Riptide's pack look relatively minor by comparison. What could've done this? the Rex thought, shocked at what lay before him, ducking as he began to walk through the trees around the cave, intending to get a closer look...

"Three days," Sharpclaw hissed. "I have managed to keep her hydrated, but she cannot eat, let alone move." He looked down at her sadly; the only motion she was capable of was the occasional twitch of her eye. "Somehow, she has not starved yet. Perhaps the venom keeps her alive long enough for... something..."

Maloriak saw the paralyzed albino at the same time he saw Sharpclaw after the short trek to the back of the cave. The mention of the female having not starved yet despite bing unable to eat and the venom possibly keeping her alive for an uknown purpose also reached his ears. The green and brown raptor growled to the pack leader:"How many Troodon do you estimate are in the pack that chased you out of Death Valley?"
