Oh my... I nearly forgot about this... Thanks for reminding me, Shade!

Well... it does follow a similar premise to SSRPG... I don't see why a strict set of rules on species would be necessary. Variety is key, and restricting that would inhibit growth...

I see your point. But I really do just miss playing in SSRPG. Stricter rules on a few species though, last time people went wild with the faded boudary lines. So I guess having more variety on species would be good. However, I miss just plain old vamps and weres.

I see... Well... Perhaps I could ask you and CS for help on making the rules... both of you can bring in your input on what kinds of creatures you'd like to see in the subterranean world...

As for this vamp and werewolf business the trouble is everyone has a different idea of what a vampire or werewolf is. On one side you've got these Dracula evil lord vampires, you've got Bloodrayne rent a vampires, you've got twilight sparkly douche-pires etc etc.

Most will have been lifted directly from fiction, but the problem is most of them aren't compatible so you can't just jump them in under different varieties.
You've also got people inventing their own vampires and abusing the system to a degree, removing weaknesses and adding extra powers willy nilly. That's fun and all, but it can damage the fun for the more purist players.

Hello Doc, I missed you too. Then wouldn't it be more appropriate to place universal weaknesses, like for vamps: sunlight, decapitation, fire, anything through the heart? Those seem reasonable.

In all seriousness, that is some thing of an issue with the vamps and werewolves... We're gonna need to have those contained with a certain... artistic boundary in terms of abilities and powers... Otherwise, you'll have vamps running amock with the ability to destroy whatever they want with just a thought...

Those are what we call common sense. However there is always the odd exception who would argue against those being lethal to their character for whatever reason. Luckily, their point can be rendered moot and the instance rectified with ease upon staff intervention so it doesn't really concern me.

My stance for mixed breeds and halfies is the same for the technology allowed; as long as it is balanced its fine. Blatant power playing and god modding is also easily rectified.

Temporal Rift RPG

In the year 2170, scientists noticed an odd energy spectrum coming from Old Faithful that wasn't there before. Readings of the energy match nothing else known in science. When a probe was sent down into the geyser, it revealed that the energy source was actually a rift in time and space that led to a dark cavern in another world, a world confirmed to have an atmosphere and gravity density much like ours.. However, a few seconds after receiving this information, the link with the ROV vanished. A second ROV was sent in to retrieve the first, but that one, too, was lost. Arguments ran across the board wherever to try and send a third ROV in, to assemble a team to retrieve both ROVs, or to just leave the matter alone. The second idea won out, and a team was assembled and trained. Their objective was only to retrieve both probes and then head back. However, not everything is as it seems both on the other side, and on the home front...

Rules
1) No player is allowed to kill off another player's character. The maker of the RPG will be given the right to kill off other players' characters, but ONLY as a last resort to prevent the ruining of an RPG. For example, people who disobey RPG Rules can be killed off by the maker, but ONLY after contacting an Admin or Moderator.

2) No single sentence posts will be allowed unless they are useful to another player [ex: Conversations that need the player being talked to to respond]

3) When Writing in OOC, you HAVE to include some writing about your character. We do not want discussions about characters cluttering RPGs

4) Powerplaying will not be tolerated [No completely unbeatable, invincible characters that constantly charge after things without the possibility of stopping it]. The RPG is relaxed in what it allows but if given reason, limits will be put in place because we can’t have nice things :<

5) No personalities like "Kills everything in his/her path" will be tolerated. Characters must do something else as well as that.

6) Detail and quality are the most important factors to an RPG post on this site. Without them, the post does not qualify to be on the forums, and is soon deleted.

Is there a specific list of Portal Dwellers (and if so, where's the list), or can we make up a new species?

So talks of new possible RPGs have started. There's nothing specific to be noted at all right now, but here's our two contenders.

1.) A vaguely Monster Hunter inspired RPG which would encourage world building in addition to monster battles and the like.

2.) A Supernatural Supremacy remake to go along with the other remakes.

Which ones would you people be most interested in?
