James smiled when he arrived at the dock. very organised and it had that unique Spanish personality that he always liked. he walked into the Shipyard and was surprised at how organised it was. the only other shipyard as good as this was the british.
James had his First Mate sail the Beauty into the shipyard. he asked the shipwright to fix it the best he can, using the exact same type of wood already used on the ship. the shipwright nodded and got to work. he asked for 2000 gold. it was a massive price tag for a small repair job, and James managed to persued him to fix it for 1500 instead. he went to the market to buy himself a new Spyglass. he found one that looked very elegant. James asked if he could try it out. the shopkeeper agreed hesitantly, and James picked it up, opened it and looked out of it, pointing towards the fort. he could see a guard who was supposed to be on duty, drinking a bottle of rum. the man stumbled and fell over the edge. Ja,es said "this Spyglass is bad luck. do you have another one just like it?"
the shop keeper nodded and gave him another similar one, which was black with gold patterns on it. it looked even more elegant than the first. he looked through it and watched the man come out of the water and walk back to the garrison. he also saw a british battleship anchored out of the harbor, about 5 nautical miles from the port. he asked the shopkeeper how much the spyglass cost, and the shop keeper replied "500 gold, senor!". James was knocked back in shock at the price. he kept negotiating prices until the man made the price 250. James smiled and gave him 300, saying "the 250 is for the spyglass. the extra 50 is for information. the shopkeeper smiled in delight and asked "what do you want to know senor?". James said "firstly, i want to know if anyone by the name of Will Turner may have come by here. secondly, i want to know why that British battleship is floating out there waiting.". the shopkeeper frowned and said "for your first question, i believe a man by that name sailed away on a corvette, 9 hours ago. your second question, the battleship is blockading us from the french, to weaken them. we trade with everyone else, but not the french. we don't care much, since the only thing those people are good at at the moment, is wine and women. we Spanish have our own tastes in both, so we don't care." James smiled, thanked the man and walked away, to see Yuke heading for the shipyard. he decided to follow him, curious what he might do...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
