It was dawn. The sun was starting to ascend over the horizon. At the training grounds, nothing stirred, although some green dragons liked to come down here early in the mornings sometimes to get some training done alone, this was just a time where it was desserted. But otherwise dragon lizards would flutter around, catching the sun's rays or hunt small insects and mammals. Then suddenly, the sound of wings flapping broke the silence. A number of the small insignifcant organisms fled back into the undergrowth and conifers. Gliding and landing down at the training grounds was Garroth. Garroth looked around but saw no sign of Tranquillus. He immediately brought his mind into contact with hers, it didn't take him long to link his mind to hers.
"Tranquillus, it is time."
"I know, I'm on my way to the training grounds. Are you already there?"
"Yes, I just arrived. How far away are you?"
"Look behind you towards North."
Immediately Garroth stopped mind talking and looked behind him towards the horizon where he saw the gold dragon flying towards him over a number of trees. The sunlight shining over her wings from behind, she looked so graceful and peaceful in the sun. Immediately she landed in front of Garroth smiling. Garroth returned the smile.
"So Garroth, are we ready? Do you really want to do this?" She asked.
"This is my decision. I don't know whether or not it is right or not but I need to be away from Rutus, away from my own kind, just for a while. Not a long time."
"But surely Rutus will know."
"He already does, I left a note in our own glyphs and writing on his throne. I've selected Borgus to fill in as my replacement until I return. Rutus won't mind I'm sure. It depends on his reaction when he sees the note I left for him to read."
Tranquillus stared at him for a minute before speaking.
"I don't know Garroth, he may only want you, not anyone else."
"Look, I need to forget about Rutus, forget about Chronos, forget everybody here, just for a while and go somewhere where I am not continously hassled by aristocrats."
Tranquillus knew then it was better to not bother him or protest about his decision because she knew he was doing that seemed right.
"Well in that case you won't hear any protesting from me then."
"Good. But before we go, tell me why you want to come with me?"
Tranquillus looked away to the horizon.
"Garroth, understand that this is because of matters that do not concern you."
Garroth was really taken aback.
"Oh and I don't suppose Rutus doesn't concern you then, Tranquillus?"
"Garroth, please-"
"You were there when he placed you and the others captive until I found my father. If my father had not been there, you, me, we would all have been dead. I have not hidden anything from you in the past. Now why are you all of a sudden being so defensive?"
"Garroth, don't start, please? Understand that I can't always reveal everything to you."
Garroth stared at her for a moment before sighing.
"Alright, but if you want to tell me anything, and I mean anything, then by all means do say so."
"Yes Garroth."
"Good, now let us go and post haste to our destination."
Garroth started walking West before Tranquillus caught up.
"Where are we going exactly Garroth?"
"A place I know only. A place that has been left untouched since the reign of my ancestors as well as yours. Before this whole war started within the nations as well. It's a place that belongs to no one and is a place only I have seen on a map my father gave to me to seek out whenever I am in doubt and regret. Well I think now is the time I head there. It is a place known as "The Outlands". Father told me that to get there you must cross a wasteland to a portal that takes you there."
Tranquillus was looking as if in disbelief but did not argue.
"How long will it take us to reach this portal?"
"The portal is an ancient one and powerful. Very few know of this. My father found it himself by accident on one of his travels. He then introduced my mother to this and went through the portal. It was their first time they went out together. My father told me it had been his most wonderful moment. The portal should be about a day or so from here. It is located in a large canyon where the cliffs surround it, making it concealed. At least for now."
"Well then let us go."
Garroth nodded.
"I know the way there so you will have to follow me. I don't know what to expect there."
Tranquillus nodded before Garroth took flight into the air. Tranquillus followed behind him. The sun was just about over the horizon and now the night was dieing down, back over the south. Garroth was more concerned with what Tranquillus was hiding from him and didn't want to tell him than what lied ahead in the Outlands...

Inferno walked across the green plains around his mountain home, the bodies of numerous Demons laying in piles of ash around him, incinerated by him personally after their deaths. Inferno decided it was time to send a messenger to Balmeer to inform him of the loss of two of his kind to the Demons, in an attack of his home. "Slytherius!" he growled, his deep voice booming with such power that it was heard all the way at the entrance to the mountain cavern. In seconds, a large Dragon made of pure flames, probably twice Inferno's size, flew down towards the Emperor, landing before him and bowing to the point his face nearly hit the ground, despite his size. Inferno flinched at the bow, never having liked that particular sign of respect, but gave it no heed. There were more important matters to attend to at the moment. "I want you to go to Emperor Balmeer and inform him of what happened yesterday. the death of those two dragons at the hands of the Demons. tell him a new system needs to be put into place regarding visiting Dragons of other races to the Emperors, to inform the Emperors themselves of the visit so that time isn't wasted questioning them. i am sure you know that was the reason those two Dragons died. Inform him that we need some of Empress Morian's flight as a failsafe way to make sure that those in front of us truly are who they say they are, in the case of a lack of messengers to pass a message from one Emperor to another regarding visiting Dragons. and finally, i want you to tell him that the next meeting is to take place in a month's time". Slytherius nodded. "Yes, your majesssty" he hissed before leaping into the air and disappearing in a flash of flames. Inferno turned and continued walking, his eyes trained on the area around him as he continued his early morning stroll. Fieras was inside the cave, protected by every defensive spell imaginable, as she slept, 3 of the Imperial guard posted outside the Entrance, blocking all possible assassination attempts...

Garroth and Tranquillus flew high above plains and grassy fields. But eventually those died out shortly and they soon were in what looked like a rocky canyon. No signs of life were abundant here except small scorpions, snakes and lizards. Plants were tiny, shrubs. No water source was in sight and so the two flew on until they saw a good place to land in the canyon. It was hidden from plain sight and it was easy for many to get lost in here. But one thing was for certain. They were no longer in their home territory now. They were in a No Dragon's Land now. As Garroth lay down to rest beside Tranquillus, he began to wonder, what lied in the Outlands. Either way, he knew that such a place was a secret to only a very few and yet Garroth could only wonder the effect this would have on other nations if they discovered this. Once they had rested they would press on until it was found, this portal that is said to be situated not too far away from them would be the gateway to the Outlands. It was supposed to be another world altogether, but Garroth would have to see for himself what it was like and what awaited them there...

a small black creature scurried along the rock face, barely larger than a human being. it's skin seemed to be hit by a wave of colour as it turned from black to brown, the same colour as the rock face it was situated on. it hissed in pleasure as it watched a couple of dragons not far away....

Inferno walked up the mountain side towards the entrance of his cave, exercising his legs and arms as he heaved his form up the rocky surface of the mountain with ease. it was one of the things that made him superior to most dragons his size. his legs were used even more than his wings, and they were just as powerful as a result, giving him an upside in combat with all his limbs being equally powerful. Inferno walked up to the entrance, his three guardians bowing to him as they stepped aside, allowing him through. he walked into the massive cave, the various gems and valuable ores lining it's walls being an awe inspiring sight to anyone who saw them. even he was taken aback each time he entered the massive gem studded cavern. he walked down the sloping, smoothed stone stairs into the central chamber, and walked towards the resting chamber, where Fieras slept calmly. with a wave of his clawed hand, the entrance to the cavern was sealed by a powerful shielding spell, and he walked in and lay beside his mate and Empress, and rested his eyes for the first time in over 24 hours...

It didn't take long for Garroth to recover quickly. He thought he heard the sound of laughter not far off. He looked in the direction of it but saw nothing and didn't bother to worry with it. He and Tranquillus decided to move along the day would go down to nightfall soon and he didn't want to be out here. They weren't far though from the portal. Quickly the two dragons took off to the air. Eventually, as they flew over the paths through the massive canyon. Garroth began to feel a strange vibe. Garroth knew then that they were close to the portal. Garroth and Tranquillus immediately decided to take landing. They noticed a round area, almost hidden in the Canyon that was only accessable by air. The rest of it was surrounded by the cliffedges. They took landing and immediately the vibe became stronger. Garroth looked around himself and there it was. A set of steps that were of some strange silver or mithril led up to a massive square portal. The portal itself was surrounded with slabs of marble with a two statues of cloaked figures armed with swords that were faced down at the ground. On top of this portal was a huge dragon head. The portal itself was as some described it: a huge vortex leading to another dimension. This was a green along with purple on the inner part. The portal was massive compared to dragons and looked as if it was only meant to be accessed by dragon's only. Garroth and Tranquillus looked with interest. Garroth knew that this is what his father had been talking about. This was the very gateway to the Outlands.
"Well, don't say I told you Tranquillus." He said to her as a joke.
"Yes, you were right. I'm sorry to have ever doubted you." She said.
"That's fine Tranquillus, I understand completely. I mean, there have been such things as portals in this land but they are rare and hard to find. However, I think other than my father and mother we are the first dragons in such a long time to come across this portal."
"Indeed Garroth, this an excellant find. And I think it's in our best interest that nobody else will learn about this."
"No one is going to. This be our secret, from now on until our deaths. Guard this secret with your life. The only other dragon I can reveal this to is my father or my mother. Now let us go."
"Garroth, what if we get lost and can't find our way back?"
"Don't worry, I have come prepared. I learned a spell that keeps track of this location so when we go through the portal. Then there should be a portal we go through to reach the other side and I will have myself trace that portal so I remember where to come back."
"Very well, let us go."
Garroth nodded and the two of them made their way up the steps slowly. The two dragons stopped before the portal and then looking back to be sure no one else was following them, the dragonhead on the portal was the only thing really menacing here besides the cloaked figures. After one final check at the sky, they walked through the portal together. And into the very gateway to the Outlands...

a hissing gurgle came from the creature as it shot after the dragons with frightening speed, easily keeping up with them through the cracks and tunnels within the canyon. it watched from above and grinned with it's spear-like fangs, it's strangely shaped, hammer-like head cocking to the side slightly as it watched from the shadows, completely invisible and undetectable to the Dragons...

The two shadowy figures stalked the black dragon carefully, coming ever closer. One of them pulled out a scrool, whispering ancient encantations under his breath. The Other man knelt down, drawing his hands together above his head. The black dragon was completely oblivious to the fate they were about to bring to it... A fate which they had prohercised. The Slaughter of kings and a million breaking hearts... Of all men on the earth, it would be these men who would full fill the part of humanity... The first man was nearly finished the encantations when an ear splitting roar broke the silence. Stimeak barrled down towards Neltharion bellowing "Get away from here!!" He had sensed the mens presence, and he knew who they were. The second man didnt heed the others warnings, it was too late to stop now.. He swung his arms open and a bolt of black energy zipped into the air towards the dragons. Stimeak looked over at them, eyes filled with horror. The bolt cracked into his chest and he seemed to hang limp for a second before a mournful cry parted from his jaws. He fell to the ground, thudding into the snow motionless. The two men both stood up and started running through the snow, trying to escape the other dragon...

Garroth felt himself plummeting and ascending together which was a very wierd and unpleasant sensation as he and Tranquillus travelled through the portal. He could see it was like they were entering a different dimension altogether. Around him, huge circuliar rings of green energy combined with masses of whiteness were going around and around. They were going extremely fast, but not enough to knock the wind out of him. Garroth was nervous. He could see Tranquillus next to him and she looked as if she felt the same way he did. Still, there was no turning back for now and whatever the Outlands would look like when the two reached the other side was beyond their knowledge. Was Garroth's father right? Was it really paradise? Or was this the wrong portal to some place in the Underworld? Garroth and Tranquillus knew that the only way they were going to know was when they reached the other side. Garroth noticed something in front of them. It was a bright light, brimming of multiple colours and shrouded with some haze and smaller lights around it, giving it a mystical feel to it. This had to be the way out. Garroth found it almost hard to speak but found the will to do so. "Be prepared Tranquillus for whatever lies at the other end of that light!" He warned. Tranquillus nodded. Immediately they drew closer and closer to the multi-coloured light. And then the light started to disappear or more like separated into a circuliar object and in it showed what appeared to be the other side of what was outside the portal. But neither of the dragons got a good look as their view started to whiten out and then, there was blackness. But right before fulling going into unconsciousness, Garroth heard two loud thumps, he then relaxed. It was their bodies that had landed out of the portal. They had made it...

Neltharion turned, letting loose a booming roar, enraged. He swung his clawed hand at the air infront of him, the two humans stopping dead in their tracks, ice shards stabbing through their feet from the snow underneath. Neltharion moved forward, waving another claw, both mens' sight being terminated, their eyes useless. He flicked a claw at the closest one, a large spear of ice rising from the snow behind him, piercing through his chest and out the other side. Wasting no time, Neltharion raised his hand, the bracelet shimmering for a moment before engulfing the impaled human in flames, burning him alive and melting the snow and ice around him. Flicking another claw, Neltharion destroyed the muscles in the second man's lower part of his legs, causing him to, even with feet impaled, fall onto his knees. Now right behind the man, Neltharion swung his enourmous clawed hand, cleaving the man's upper body clean off, sending the mangled half a short distance away. Bellowing again, Neltharion let loose a jet of pitch black fire onto the bodies, destroying them completely. He turned back to Stimeak, unsure what to do, staring at the dragon intensly, wanting him to move...

A rattling cackle came from the small black creature as it scurried off, it's reason for being here gone...

Inferno walked out of the caverns and looked around. he stretched his body widely, a loud snarl of pleasure coming from him as each of his joints cracked as he loosened up, the cramps in his limbs instantly eliminated. he walked out onto the ledge and looked at the surroundings. his Imperial Guard could be seen flying around the mountain, patrolling the area. Inferno let out a satisfied grunt and walked down the mountain, planning to see what he could find in terms of food...

Hydras moved through his swamp near Xordia. He moved through the brown temperate water with the expertise of a shark, serpintining through the water with his necks, skillfully able to keep his necks from being tangled. The main head surfaced, took a breath then dived. He body moved slowly and low to the river bottom to avoid being spotted. Suddenly, a shadow was visable on the surface.

Gallant moved his potions into their places, orginizing the ussually messy cabin outside his much larger house. Suddenly the screams of his towns people caught his attention. He grabbed his armor and sword, sheild and potions. He grabbed his book with care and ran into his stable. Hay was scattered around the smokey black and grey horse. "Get ready iron hooves" Gallant jumped onto his steed and kicked open the door, his horse neghing and raising up onto his hind legs. He darted out and down the dirt path into town.

A red spark flew across the cloudy sky over Balmeer. He blinked a few times, not sure what was going on. He was on the ground, but he wasn't hurt. Slightly releived, he turned his head to face his body. A small suprised gasp coming from his mouth at the sight of numerous gashes and burns down his side. He let in a deep breath and felt a short stab of pain in his chest, it quickly faded away to a strange sense of pleasure. Then, out of nowhere, a huge demon steped over him backing away. Its armour was covered in dents and its helmet was missing. The demon general was glanceing around franticly shouting "I will win this battle!! I cannot fail!" Balmeer blinked, thinking that this was a strange thing to say. All over the sky he could see purple dragons swooping this way and that, occsionally the demon would launch a ball of flame into them. Balmeer blinked again, and when he opened his eyes, the gigantic figure of the Purple Empress, Morian, materialised behind the Demon. Within a second, she slamed into his back, pinned the general with a massve clawed hand, bit onto his head and in a jerking movement, broke his neck. With not the slightest bit of power to defend himself anymore, the demons fires died down leaving it lifeless. The purple dragons in the sky faded and Balmeer struggled to his feet. Surrounding him where the bodies of blue dragons and demons, not many demons at that... The red spark he saw earlier drew closer, it was Inferno's messenger...

Gallant got of his horse as he neared the creature. He smealt the stench of dead as he neared the edgoe of the swamp. Nearer and nearer he treaded, moving slowly and crouch slightly. His hand loosley held his sword. Hisses echoed. "A human...looks royal" Hissed one of the heads. "Yes...wonder if any witnisses will be able to tell the tale." Another roared in a hushed tone. "Humans are more snakey than us" The main head roared. "They lie, they hunt us to see if they are warriors! Are we supposed to be mounted on his wall?! We strike. Chaos has swept the land we will add to it. Let this be start of an unesy relationship between the swamp creature and these snakes" Hydras walked out of the trees, heads knocking several off of their foundations. It's scales made an unearthly rattle with contact with the wet leaves and cool wind blew southward, bring strom clouds in. Gallant firmly grasped his blade and weilded it infront of him. Rain drizzled. Ironhooves watched his rider confront yet another creature. "After every battle, there is one, and even if both strike, your horse will be the one to tell the silent tale of your stand" He mumbled to him self. Hydras roared and 2 heads zoomed towards the slayer, he swiftly slamming the gold handle onto the deathly face of the 7th head, swinging the blade into the hindge off the 9th head's jaw. He roared and wriggled off. The heads continued snapping a the slayer, bting onto his tough armor. Swing after swing, cut after cut, blood shed after bloodshed, the monster wouldn't fall. Suddenly they all grouped up and slammed down on the ground, the small shock wave sending Gallant flying of of his feet. Hydras advanced, his tailnow exposed along with it's vissious spike. Lightning flashed, the shadow of the creaure writhing heads and the hissing roars gave evidense even miles away.

"Your majesty Balmeer" started Slytherius as he blew into his full sized form, bowing before the Blue Emperor. "It appearssss...that you're the third we've found in such a situation...luckily you survived. otherssss...were not so fortunate. two of your followersss had come to us for help. unfortunately, the riskssss that came with usss letting them in immediately proved too great to allow usss to do such. and, unfortunately, they died as a result, the Demonsss having caught up with them before we could organise any kind of defensive stance against them. His majesty Inferno has sent me with a message. We are to sort out a system to inform the Emperors of each flight when one of the Flight Dragons are sent to other Flights' realms for any purpose. He also said that, as an alternative, we should have one each of the Dragons of Her Majesty Morian's Flight as a failsafe way of insuring that we aren't faced with shape shifters or other imposters" growled the massive Fire Elemental Guardian, before bowing again, this time to the Purple Empress flying above...

The blood stained spike flew towards Gallant, he swiftly moved his sheild into play, the Spike peiring the thick hand held armor slightly. Gallant was risen and shaken by the tail, trying to rid of the slayer. Soon, the shaking stopped, and Gallant was risen to the face of the main head, his fangs moved into place, being visable from the slit of it's lips."This battle was too short..." It hissed. Gallant moved his hand to his belt, slipping a vile of blue liquid into his hand. He moved it to his mouth as the Head preapared his venom. The Main head roared and opened it's giant mouth and began it's strike. "Pyrotechnus!" A flame shot out in a flume into the creatures already bleeding mouth. The memorised spell had been usefull ounce more in a dire situation. Gallant fell, his chipped sheild in hand. The serpints tail moved swiftly back into the swamp, a blood trail following. The slayer picked up his abandonned sword and moved back to his horse. He jumpped on, pulled the reigns and gallopped back home.

The effects of Morians magic was starting to wear off and Balmeer started to feel the pain from his many injuries. He snarled angrily and bellowed "If you haven't noticed already there is at least 4 dragons dead here alone!... I sent more than two to Inferno the rest..." He roared in fustration and dug his claws into the ground, heaving himself up. Morian looked down at Slitherus and growled "Two Demon generals, others were warriors... The dangerous kind..." Three other purple dragons seemed to slip into existence and they landed next to Balmeer. One of them growled urgently to Slitherus "We think runners were sent to Rutus aswell, did you get any word from him?"
Balmeer was still in confusion, looking around and wondering where his guards were. When infact, they lay dead all around him...

Sytherius nodded to Balmeer and growled "Sorry, Your majesty. and yes, i have noticed. which is why i say it is imperative that we impliment this plan as soon as possible, before the chance arises for another incident to take place". He then looked at Empress Morian and shook his head. "No word yet. It seems they wanted to eliminate us completely" he growled...

Inferno had just finished eating a small Jungle Elephant, and had made sure it was clean of any possible threats to his health. with a growling stretch he loosened his wings, and took to the air. he then flew to the mountain, and began to plan his next move...

Hydras moved through the swamp, hissing and growling. "That human isn't like the rest." Growled the 2nd head. "It knows the ways of the mystical forest" Growled the 5th head. The main head folded his lips and his eyes turned black, the rest of the head looking at him meaningfully, fearing what has happened. His face was half burnt and rage seemed to darken the rest of his face. "That human" Began the head, 2 voices overlapped each other, making a hissing gruff voice. "Is no different than the human scum that are all over this forsaken world!" Hydras walked to his forest, his tail waving relentlessly, knocking away trees and dirt. "I will have my revenge..." The main head thought, the rest of the heads now shared his rage.

Setrinus woke up and gazed at the sleeping dragon that was next to her with love sparkling in her eyes. She nuzzled him and purred, "Hello Farthatos," before getting up herself to stretch. She walked out of the cave and breathed in the fresh air. It seemed like a good morning today. She could just see the nice glow of the morning sun over the horizon. "A nice morning indeed," the blue dragon murmured to herself and sighed, glancing down at the bracelet that that red dragon gave her a very long time ago. I should probably pay him a visit sometime, see how he's doing, she thought and spread her wings, about to take off. But, oh I don't know where he even lives. She sighed and laid down with a huff. How was she going to get to Inferno?

Elsewhere, a large, gold colored dragon appeared infront of another, even more enourmous dragon, the larger dragon's scales dark and torn with age. "My lord...We've just got word that Emperor Balmeer was attacked by-" the smaller dragon growled, being cut off by a deep, echoeing voice. "Calm yourself, Erozion, I already know..." Chronos growled, staring off blankly, his gaze seeming to watch something no other creature could see. "Demons...Balmeer survived, along with help from Morian..." the timeless dragon's voice boomed, the smaller dragon slightly stunned by his Emperor's knowledge. "I want everyone to stay alert...We have no idea what these fiends plan to do next, Erozion. Send word to the other emperors, we need to make sure they are on guard as well." Chronos growled deeply, flexing a claw. "Also, any remaining dragons will need to meet with Balmeer and Morian." the golden emperor's voice sounded, Erozion shaking his head. "But my lord, the demons already attacked Emperor Balmeer and Empress Morian, shouldn't we have every able dragon protecting our own kin?" he growled, not understanding Chronos' logic. "Ah, my good friend, you must understand. Demons are very cruel, but equally as clever. We can't assume they won't attack Balmeer or Morian again." Chronos growled, still staring off blankly. "Y..Yes, my lord...I'm sorry I doubted you..." Erozion growled, bowing his head to the enourmous golden dragon. As the smaller dragon left, Chronos' gaze never moved, Erozion having the feeling something was about to happen, something only Chronos knew was going to happen...
