Fatalis hissed "Well, obviously unlike you, I care about the ones who treat me fairly, the ones i befriend. I care enough to check on them, to visit occasionally, and that is what im doing now, or was until i was so rudely interrupted by that raptor who had attacked Steeltalon, then run before i could jump in to stop him and help Steeltalon"...

Crusher was walking by Tornado's side, asking questions about the past. he growled "So why am i so large? im twice the size of any normal rex!". Tornado growled "For two reasons. Firstly, me. my blood was diluted by the Giga's enough to give me an incredible size, but not enough to change me much from a normal Tyrannosaur. the only things i am similar to a Giga in are my slightly longer arms, and my larger than usual head. of course, through you grandmother, and mother, you've been returned to the appearance of a regular Tyrannosaur. However, some of the abilities that a Giga is capable of, but not a Rex, are accessable to you. for example, much better balance. you can run faster than most other rexes because you have better balance. and that's only an example of things you know as well as i do. the second reason your so large, is your consumption of Mutants. the large ones, such as Gigas and Spinos, grow to much larger sizes. your not drinking the water directly, so you dont get the full effect. you get the size and strength, but you dont lose your mind"...

Diablo wandered the seemingly endless forest. The place was always full of life. Small little animals jumped from tree to tree above his head. A casual compy scittered across his [ath, Diablo didn't eat the compies though. They were rather distastfull, and even a bit crunchy. All the things Diablo hated. He needed better food. Something substantial. Like a dryosaur, or if he was lucky, something bigger.

Steeltalon made sure Night couldn't get out of his prison, a deep hole he couldn't jump or climb out of and which she threw food into once a day. She would ask if he needed water, and if he did she would jump in with a bowl-shaped rock filled with water. She couldn't kill him, but she wasn't his friend either, so she kept him in the hole until he saw the error of his ways. She caught Shadowleaf's scent and followed it, now also smelling the Lone Wolf raptor. She interrupted with a bark, "Shadowleaf, Softfoot wants you. She said something about getting back to a job."

Night was confused as he ate and drank the food and water Steeltalon brought to him, but that didn't make him any less aggressive. Every time she asked if he needed something, he would snarl back what he needed, sometimes rasping if he needed water. Did I make a mistake in trying to kill her? he wondered. She's a good raptor. Maybe if I hadn't tried to kill her those four years ago, things would've been different... He tore off a strip of meat from the Compy that she had dropped in for him. She doesn't trust me, if she did I wouldn't be in this hole. I think she may just be doing it because her sympathy won over--she knew I would die if she left me. With that thought, Night smiled and curled up to sleep in the shadows.

Shadow leaf glared at the lone wolf angrilly and growled "I dont need to check on my freineds, they are all around me, and I trust them not to need my protection. I wasnt aware that you had be-freined Steeltalon, she is over here follow me.
She lead the raptor toward Steeltalons scent.
She gave two barks and continued.

Softfoot burst through a bush angrilly and growled "Steeltalon, I just found that mutant with the scar sitting in a hole, alive in the hole. Not dead. Any idea how he survived?"

Steeltalon looked at Softfoot calmly. "Yes, actually," she barked. "I put him there. I made sure he can't get out, don't worry. He shouldn't be able to, but if he does, kill him. I have no interest in keeping him alive longer than neccessary. I want information, and only he can tell me what I want to know."

Night growled deep in his throat and jumped for the top of the hole. His claws scrabbled against it, causing a shower of dirt to fall on him. "* that Steeltalon," he growled. "How long does she intend to keep me down here?"

"As long as I need," she snarled down at him. "Tell me, why did you attack my family four years ago?"

"Why should I tell you?" he spat.

Steeltalon glared at him and moved away. She looked back at Softfoot as calmly as before. "I'll keep him under guard," she said, placin a mat of interwoven vines she had found over the top of the hole and putting a heavy rock on either side of it. "At least until he tells me what I must know."

Fatalis smiled at the angry look on Shadow Leaf's face. she was obviously quick to anger, like the rest of her pack members, with the acception of Steeltalon. He calmly walked into the clearing after Shadow Leaf, and growled "Hmm...Steeltalon. It's been a while since i last saw you. i see you have a prisoner. Night....i remember the name...cant remember where i heard it before, but i definately remember it. I've seen what i need to see, and i've been assured that your safe Steeltalon, seeing how easily your communicating with this pack of overly aggressive friends of yours, so, unless any of you want me for something, i'm leaving. What is it the pack leader wants of me?". Fatalis swished his tail slightly as he was speaking, the tail nearly hitting a diving Ramphorynchus that had eyed a Dragonfly behind the raptor...

Steeltalon looked up briefly from interrogating Night. Curiosity sparked in her gaze. "Never did learn your name," she growled before turning back to what she was doing.

He snarled up at her, "I don't know why I attacked your family! I wasn't leader of my pack back then--how was I suppossed to know Riptide was going to launch an attack? Anyway, I'm the last one of them alive. You could search for the rest of your meaningless life and you'd never find any of them."

Steeltalon nodded before dropping meat tainted with hemlock sap into his cage. "Eat," she ordered. "And then sleep."

Night thought there was something wrong with the meat, but didn't argue. He swallowed a strip of meat before realizing what was wrong with it. His eyes widened and he shrieked, "Little *****, why are you trying to kill me?"

"Sleep Night, sleep!" Steeltalon growled softly. "And never bother anyone again."

Night writhed in pain before he colased on the floor of the hole and breathed his last. Steeltalon smirked triumphantly and kicked some dirt onto Night's head. "At last, my revenge is complete," she purred menacingly. She settled down and nursed a bruise she had gotten from her earlier battle with Night. Then she looked at Softfoot. "Happy now? Night is dead. And I know what I needed to know." she growled.

She switched her gaze to the Lone Wolf raptor. "Why do you not live in a pack?" she asked him. "Surely life would be easier for you."

Softfoot looked down at the corpse of the raptor. "Hmmm didnt expect that. But anyway" She turned to the lone wolf who was beacoming a complete pain by now. "Agrresive is such a strong word, I would use, ohhhhh what about cautious of being slaughtered, and dont say that again as you obviouslly dont belive it your self, why else would you risk coming here.
Also comes the question on why you insist on stalking us. We have given you no reason to fear for your life or that of your freinds, and you talk as if we are some sort of evil gang who have brainwashed Steeltalon. I mighten know but she was on the brink of suicide before we arrived.

Fatalis looked at Steeltalon, and hissed calmly "My name is Fatalis. I've been a lone wolf since a large portion of my pack was slaughtered by Thrasher, the Spinosaur that used to dominate the island, and i was seperated. Now, the Spinosaur's dead, and the last survivors of my pack have been found, but i still preffer to be a Lone Wolf. it's freedom from the responsibilities of being in a pack. helping in hunts, guarding the pack, tending to the young ones, reporting to the Alpha Raptors, and following their commands. as a Lone Wolf, the only responsibilities i have are to feed myself, keep myself well watered and to keep myself alive. that, has hone my skills to a much higher level over the average pack raptor, and i preffer life like that. being alone and occasionally visiting friends around the island, making sure they're safe and free from any threats, among other things". Fatalis then looked at Softfoot, and hissed "what you call "stalking" is merely one of these occasional visits. And i wasn't in any way insulting you or your pack members, Softfoot. im just saying you dont have to act this way towards all creatures you face. look at me, for example! i was once a pack member of the largest pack on the island, and now, I am alone. but you dont see me aggressively snarling and growling at any creature that i come across. just an example"...

Sickle bedded down in the clearing, thinking about what he could do to find a territory. There's nothing else I can do right now, The Utahraptor thought. The only method I can think of for finding one is to sniff for areas free of major carnivore's scents, and that's been useless so far.

As Sickle continued to think, he felt pangs of hunger in his stomach. I should go back to the river, see if I can find any more food. But at the thought of river, it set off a chain of thought in his mind: River means fish means fish-eaters means Spinosaurs like the dead ones in the canyon means freed up territory.

Quickly, the Utahraptor tried to remember how long ago it was that he'd been at the canyon littered with Spino corpses. Was it a day ago? Two? How long ago were they killed? Longer ago than that, but they'd barely rotted. Then another question raced through Sickle's mind: How long have the other predators had to take the territory for themselves? Only a few days. I should be able to make it.

Sickle stood up, sniffed for the scent of the Spino corpses, and took off towards the scent's general direction. Even though he suffered from hunger and exhaustion, the thought of being able to hunt his own prey, for the first time since leaving his old pack, kept him going.
It's you and me against the world. We attack at dawn.

Steeltalon nodded and stood up. "My family was killed as well, by a pack of mutants," she murmured. She met Fatalis' gaze evenly. "So I know what that feels like." She turned and started to pace the clearing, her tail swishing slightly behind her.

Softfoot narrowed her eyes and growled "You are right, Fatalis, I am sorry. We are alike in many ways but, your plight is different. Your pack was wiped out by a massive dissaster that neither you nor your pack could have avereted. We were faced by dissaster after dissaster everyone avoidable. We find the way we act is the best way to avoid dissaster. Sandstorm, Shadowleaf and I have to continue scouting for another while, please come with us as there is more I would like to talk about.

Fatalis looked at Steeltalon, and hissed "And i suppose Night was the last survivor of that pack?". he then looked at Softfoot, slightly surprised at the sudden change of tone. apparently having simlarly painful pasts had brought a feeling of sympathy to the surface towards him. it was something he was happy about, and he hissed "Of course Softfoot. I'll join you and the others for a short while. Maybe even help in a hunt while im at it". He looked around, having a feeling of being watched. the only thing he could see was a single young Compy watching them from a tree. when Fatalis looked it in the eye, it turned around and ran off as fast as it could. Fatalis then looked at the 2 raptors, awaiting a response from either of them...

From above, a pair of wise, old, weary eyes watched the trio, a single red eye beside the 2 golden coloured ones, watching the three like a hawk, completely undetectable due to the skill and age of the 2 beings. they were at one with the world around them, blending in perfectly and unnoticably with the surroundings...

Crusher was walking with his grandfather, and stopped at the scent of a familiar creature. "F...Fury?". Tornado growled "Fury? who's that?". Crusher growled "A young rex i adopted as my own, after his father was killed by a Giga somewhere on the island. he left the nest years ago. i didn't think he'd come back. he's somewhere near the plains nearby". Tornado growled "Well, let's go and find him then". Crusher nodded, and the 2 headed towards the plains, Crusher looking forward to seeing what had become of the hungry young Rex that had stumbled upon his nest all those years ago...

Steeltalon looked back at Fatalis, slightly surprised. "Yes, he was," she muttered quietly. "The last living member of Riptide's pack. They got themselves killed just last year. I think it was Crusher, but I don't know." She looked around, tensing her muscles instinctively. She felt like she was being watched by something big. "I think I'll join you, Softfoot, since there's nothing more I have to do." She walked to the older raptors and fixed a curious gaze on the treetops. For a second, she thought she saw a pair of bright orange eyes, but she blinked and they were gone.

I'm going crazy, she thought, shaking her head.

Fury awoke with a groan, still feeling the pain from his injury. It wasn't very big, but it was deep. He saw Ysera, sleeping. He decided not to wake her. He walked out of the nest to the river they swam in a few days ago. He lapped up the water and, before he could finish, smelled the scent of two carnivores. Immediantly he started sniffing the air. One was a farmilar scent, but he couldn't tell who's scent it was. The other scent was very odd; it was a mix between a Giga's scent and a Tyrannosaur's scent. Then it hit him, these two were mutants. There was no other explaination. At this, Fury raced back to the nest and tryed to wake his mate. What's going on? Ysera snarled. Mutants! I can smell them... You must get up. We have to be ready. growled Fury. Why are they trying to kill us? We just came back to this region. growled Ysera as she got up beside her mate. I don't know, growled Fury, but we still need to be ready. At this the two Tyrannosaurs started circling around the nest; trying to watch all sides at once. Fury didn't know how they would survive, but they had to protect the nest.

Crusher entered a clearing, where 2 rexes were circling a nest. Crusher recognised one as Fury by his colour and scent. it looks like he had scared him through his scent, because he was obviously worried. Crusher growled "It's been a long time, Fury", as he came within view of the Rex. he had walked behind the trees to hide himself for a short while, until he was closer. Crusher noticed a look of shock and surprise appear on Fury's face as he saw him walk out from behind the trees, and he waited for his response...

Diablo had fallowed the sent of a foreign Trex, he stayed by the tree line and camoflauged as he watched the large Crusher, aproach the new rex in a manor that wasn't meanicing. Either Crusher was giveing the rex a chance to leave, or they had met before, and it was a pleasent freind. Diablo still didn't want to show himself.

Steeltalon blinked, carefully scanning the trees. She took in all the scents and sounds, trying to identify what she had seen earlier. No alien scents reached her, she she settled on I imagined it all.

She looked expectantly at Softfoot, waiting for her to lead them...

At the sight of his foster father, Fury relaxed. Ah Crusher....it's been a long time. We were just looking for you. This is my mate, Ysera. Fury growled. Ysera nodded, still slightly amazed at the size of Crusher. So... Fury growled, looking at the Rex beside his foster father. Who is this?

Sandstorm walked up to three raptors and growled "Alright we have to get moving, this night guy has already delayed us too much, Clawfist and the others will be back way before us and we still havve unexpolored terain to cross." Soft foot nodded in agreement and the group, now with fatalis and Steeltalon moved back on the direction they had been going earlier.
Shadow lead hissed in warning "earlier we smelled that rex wandering around so be carefull, and stick to the code."
