Fatalis sniffed the air, taking in the scents around him. he couldn't smell much other than the strong scent of pine, unusual in this area of the island, the smell of many herbivorous dinosaurs and the all too common scent of Compies. he could hear the trickle of a stream nearby, and the roar of a waterfall a few kilometers away, in Crusher's territory, feeding the deep river that was once home to Spinosaurs until Crusher reclaimed it. Fatalis mentioned these things to the patrol group, and after hearing what Steeltalon had said, decided that there wasn't much else out there. he hissed "Well, now this area's been checked out fairly well, why dont we check the rest, if it hasn't been checked already? Steeltalon, why dont we double back on your part and check the bits you didn't see? the more you know about the area, the better. you go on ahead, i'll watch from above". at that, he jumped hard, launching himself upwards and landing in the branch of a tree. he then waited for any response from the pack. if there was none, he would go with Steeltalon to make sure the area che went to was completely clear...
above in the trees, the 2 beings continued to watch the pack quietly, their scents completely masked by th surroundings. their age made them practically a part of the world around them, their original reptilian scent fading to make way for the scent of trees, making them indetectable. their skill in movement aquired from age giving them complete ease of movement where others of their kind would find difficulty. they were the most perfect of their kind...
