"Gaara," Yoruichi repeated. She watched, curious now, her knees tucked up to her chest. Her wings folded neatly, the demon-child hearing the feathers ruffle as they rubbed against each other and the talons click together.

"And....you are?" said Gaara as he stood leaning against one of the Alley's two walls, the gourd on his back bending to take the shape of the wall, forming a cushion-like surface between Gaara and the wall...

"Yoruichi," the young teen replied, standing up slowly. The flames followed her, red-orange tongues licking at her back and shoulders. "But most people just call me Demon-child." Her glowing green eyes studied Gaara's face, the demon cocking her head in the fashion of a curious child.

"Demon-child...well that's a flattering nickname" grunted Gaara in amusement. "And what are you doing here?" Gaara asked as he brought a hand in front of his face, sand swiling in his palm slowly...

"Hiding from what I am...or at least trying to." The talons on her wing joints clicked together again rather menacingly, and she twitched at the sharp sound. She might've been a demon, but without full control of her poawers, what she could do in certain situations often scared her.

"No one can hide from what they are. it's how you are. But you CAN learn to accept it, and in that, learn how to use it to your advantage" said Gaara as the sand in his hand came together, forming a small version of Yoruichi, complete with wings, which flew over to her, falling apart and returning in an instant...

Yoruichi blinked at the mini-version of herself, fascinated. "How can I accept myself when no one else accepts me?" she questioned, her gaze returning to Gaara's face.

"By accepting the fact that you'll only ever have yourself to take comfort in, even if you meet one or two others in your life who accept you" said Gaara as his left hand ran over a symbol on the left side of his forehead....

Yoruichi nodded, slightly confused, though she didn't voice this. She'd always been told that she was nothing more or less than a demon, and for that reason would never be accepted. And still the fire danced, flickering and twisting around her in ever changing shapes. After a short silence, she said, "And my powers...if I accept myself...will they accept me?"

"I suppose, yes, they would. that was the path i took" said Gaara simply as he looked up at the night sky, looking back down, slightly saddened by the fact the extreme glare caused by the city's bright street lights hid the stars in the sky...

For the first time in more than a few years, hope flickered in Yoruichi's eyes. The flames flared slightly, stretching towards the sky, before they cooled and receeded, back towards the young demon's body.

Kevin woke up, having passed out. His headache was gone, or so it seemed. The last time he passed out because of a head ache was when he was with Jake and the symbiote was fighting, or in extreme stress. There was no way he and that alien slime was connected, not sinse he was captured by Nick Fury. Kevin dropped down from the roof of theware house, landing on the cold concrete. He walked off, hans in his pockets. A small pain started to grow in the back of his head as he neared the area ahead...

Behind the sand wielding human, two glowing eyes appeared on the building behind him, two massive winged appendages appearing on the figures sides. The creature opened its mouth, a screech shattering the silence, braking nearby windows in the process. Suddenly the massive beast lept off the building, landing at the back of the alley, using its wings as limbs, the claws on the end of the wings gripping the ground, the creature barely fitting inside the small alleyway. It let loose another hellish shriek, staring at the figures infront of it, more curious then aggressive, despite its actions...

sand burst from the gourd, forming a protective shield of sand over he and Yoruichi as sand rained down around them, receeding when the storm of shattered glass stopped. he turned to face the Dragon-like monster behind him, his face showing an unsurprised, emotionless person who seemed to have been expecting it. the sand collected around his feet, swirling slowly as it ground against the concrete beneath him. "Another visitor" he said with a grunt...

The Hornet grunted in annoyance before saying sarcasticly "Well, maybe its just a one off sort of thing... Like some dude who goes around grabbing mutants for use in some sort of army. I'm telling you, this city is really in need of a hero who doesnt run around in a rubber suit and has enough power to really beat down all the crime around here...". His wings slowly folded in, the beatle like covers sliding down and locking into place on his back.

The creature turned its head curiously when it saw the sand shield, its interest in the two humans increasing. Usually it considered them just food, and it still did with these, but they were different, like those he fought before. They were more dangerous, but the creature really didn't care. The creature grunted, crawling forward swiftly, ramming the sand wielding human with some force, but not at his full strength. He wanted to see how aggressive and dangerous they really were...

Gaara's sand shield had come forward just in time, forming over his skin due to how close the creature had come to him, he was knocked back, the sand falling and forming a cushion below him, wrapping around his arms and pulling him upright as a tongue of sand shot forward, slamming into the creature with some force, knocking it back a few feet. a warning shot. "Looks like the visitor wants to...play" said Gaara as he looked over his shoulder at Yoruichi...

The creature snarled, its claws sinking into the ground as it recovered from the attack. It shrieked once more, angry now that the human had acted so violently. The creature ran forward, slashing the sand wielding human with his outstreched wing, screeching once more...

an explosion of sand came as the claws were swung at Gaara, the sand blocking it but not catching it completely, the claws sinking in a few inches before being stopped. Gaara swung his hand forward, grey sand slamming into the monster's chest and winding it as it was knocked back. "Looks like it's a fight afterall" he said as he swung a hand down, a quantity of sand hitting the ground, grinding against the concrete and destroying it, forming more sand to control as he used what was left to form an emergancy barrier to help absorb the impact of the next attack...

Yoruichi stared for a moment, before movement at the corner of her vision caught her attention. The flames had turned blue-white and were slithering towards the creature, moving as if they had a mind of their own. She lifted her hand slowly, and tendrils wrapped around her fingers. She twitched her hand slightly to the left, and the moving flames crawled up the creature's legs. Yoruichi smirked slightly, realizing now that her abilities were much more powerful than she'd first thought.
