Snowstar nodded, it was true, but he wondered if Firestreak saw it that way, or just saw it as a squandering of past sacrifises...

Stormheart sighed in resignition. He didn't want to admit it, but if that was the case, then he could see Firestreak's anger. He also yearned for those battles that his mother and father and Wolfheart had told them, blood-shed and glory... Sunclaw shook her head. "Mother said peace was hard to come by and rarely valued, now it is a blessing," she mewed.

"To think our father's one of the reasons we have this peace" meowed Nightclaw thoughtfully, a hint of pride in his voice. the patrol was nearing it's end from what he could see, and he was looking forward to resting for the next morning's walk...

Sunclaw purred at that as well and Stormheart's chest puffed out a bit with pride. Stormheart sighed as they came to the end, he wanted to sleep than get a fresh start on hunting.

Firestreak landed on the ground with a soft thud, now just outside of Stormclan territory, in rogue territory. Though said "free" territory was very small, compared to clan territory, and had quite a few rogues inhabiting it, the scarred tom was rarely bothered by his fellows, at least not now. In the past, during the many times he left the clan, rogues targeted him almost immediately, hoping to kill who they thought was the deputy of Thunderclan. After moons upon moons of fighting, Firestreak had quite a reputation amongst the rogues, and said reputation followed him after the clans' destruction...

Wraith eyed the patrol reentering the camp from a distance, watching them split up to their various dens and other affairs, as Nightclaw came up to him and Shadelight. "How'd it go?" growled Wraith. "Firestreak, an old time Thunderclan deputy confronted Snowstar while we were patrolling, and talked about how he disliked what the Clans were like now and how the Code was being broken and how poorly the Clan's being controlled and that the Clan will end up driving itself into the ground due to not following the code and..." Nightclaw stopped short. he knew that his father wouldn't be very pleased to hear what came next. he dreaded when his father looked at him, that gaze of absolute concentration and focus in his eyes again. "...And...?" he growled. "He said that as a rogue you were more likely to bend the rules than anyone else, and that the Clan was forsaken" meowed Nightclaw, not looking forward to whatever response came next. to his surprise, Wraith simply grunted. "I see...Apparently his time as a rogue has blinded him of the actions going on within the Clan...not to mention he failed to consider the fact that unlike him, i was turned a rogue against my will...thrown out by a Leader who knew nothing of leading his clan well, and a Deputy more interested in pealing victims apart than keeping her Clan safe. unlike him, i was never a true Rogue. an exile yes, but not a true rogue. what Firestreak fails to see is that i apply the benefits of the Rogue lifestyle to serve the clan where possible. he's a fool to judge before he sees and experiences it. Anyway. thank you for the report Night. i'll talk to Snowstar about the event later" growled Wraith. Nightclaw smirked slightly when he heard his father call him by his true name. there was something about having a single word name that made him feel good. he supposed it just made him feel more like what his father was. a cat that ran by two names, both known for similar traits and a few stunning differences. by the name Shadowsoul, he was feared due to his ferocious reputation as a Shadowclan cat who left no enemy alive, let alone healthy, and made sure his Clan moved efficiently and peacefully. he was seen as the second to attempt to unite the Clans, and the first to succeed. and he was famed for his achievement in bringing the long standing hatred between Shadowclan and Thunderclan to an end. by the name Wraith, he was known for his kind but placid personality, and his silent take on most situations, as well as his unpredictable patrol patterns when he actually did set himself up a small territory in his times as a Loner. he was known to be very kind towards those who deserved it, and brutally cold to those who brought forth that side of him. but one thing that stood true in all of those situations: his constantly planning and calculating mind, always thinking of another way to improve the futures of the Clans. and Nightclaw couldn't be prouder...

Shadelight looked up as well when the patrol entered the camp and smiled with relief. The events of the last moons have left her a bit paranoid, but she brushed it off as cautiousness. Sunclaw smiled at her mother and trotted over to her, while Stormheart headed for the warriors. Before he entered he turned his head toward his father and glared enviously at Nightclaw. "So how was it?" Shadelight asked. "They were at it again," Sunclaw replied and swayed her tail at Nightclaw and Stormheart. Shadelight sighed and shook her head. "They'll grow out of it," she meowed. "And we ran into a former Thunderclan warrior," Sunclaw continued. "Oh?" Shadelight asked. Sunclaw nodded. "He said his name was Firestreak." Shadelight nodded slowly. "I see," she purred. "And what did he have to say, stinging nettles flew out of his mouth, no doubt," she purred in amusement. "You know him?" Sunclaw asked. "I knew him, but believe me when I first met him, he hadn't a single kind word to say," Shadelight growled. Sunclaw's tail twitched with amusement. "Now it's late, get yourself to sleep," Shadelight purred with affection and licked Sunclaw's ear. "And do tell your brothers I said goodnight," she purred after Sunclaw. She watched Sunclaw enter the warrior's den then trotted over to Wraith...

Now that the patrol had returned to the camp, Darkspot padded into the warriors den and walked to the part of the den where he slept. There hadn't been another arguement between sunclaw and nightheart for the rest of the patrol he was thankful that they had decided to focus on the patrol rather than bicker...

Having satisfied his thirst, Shadowfang turned away from the stream and walked over to a tree before he let his claws slide out and he began to climb. At the nearby trees, the five other rogues that were his companions were doing the same, they too wanting to avoid the risks of sleeping on the ground...

As Nightclaw was leaving his father's presence, Wraith called him back. "Oh, and Nightclaw, let your brother know that he's coming with us tomorrow morning, will you?". Nightclaw looked back, a look of bewilderment on his face, but nodded. "sure". and with that, he left. Wraith smirked at the thought of what Stormheart's reaction would be when he heard that news...

Nightclaw wondered what his father was thinking, by having Stormheart join them. chances are he'd argue so much with Nightclaw that Wraith wouldn't manage to get a lesson into either of their heads. he entered the Warriors' den, looking around for Stormheart...

"That was reckless" Coldeyes growled. Snowstar replied "Of coarse it was, infact, it was down right idiotic" He licked his paw and ran it over an ear. "But I was trying to see if Firestreak's the one we remember...if he had taken my challenge, Im confident I could hold my own-"
"But what would happen if you scored a blow to him? He could've played you into his paws-your too forgiving, too trusting" Coldeyes growled. "Firestreak's a missed warrior, if he wanted to join us, he would've came back moons ago"
Snowstar sighed. "Your probablly right.." Coldeyes mewed "Im going to get some warriors for tonight's vigil"
Snowstar nodded. "Except Stormheart" Coldeye's ear pricked. "He was too reckless during the patrol-"
"Like you" Coldeyes growled.
"-And assaulted another warrior" Snowstar concluded. Coldeyes asked "Give a word to his parents?"
Snowstar nodded, and Coldeyes trotted out of the warrior's den..

Stormheart's ice-blue eyes glared coldly at his brother. "What?" he growled. Sunclaw looked up as well her amber eyes gleaming like pools of golden tree sap. "Not in here surely?" she hissed quietly to both of them...

Shadelight bounded over to Wraith and smiled her tired smile. "So, what did Nightclaw have to say?" she asked.

Firestreak quickly scaled another tree, finding one with many leaves, as it was a better way of sleeping in relative safety. The scarred rogue lay down almost immediately, tail hanging from the branch, while Firestreak himself lay near the base of the tree, the shadows of the leaves and branch around him aiding in concealing the elder warrior...

"Father told me to tell you that you'll be joining him on his walk tomorrow" said Nightclaw simply...

"Chances are the same as Sunclaw told you. Firestreak confronted Snowstar, insulted us, and left. that and the undoubted argument Nightclaw and Stormheart had. that, i intend to put an end to, tomorrow" growled Wraith calmly...

"Yes, yes, and I hope so," Shadelight mewed. "They didn't bicker like this when they were kits." She shook her head remembering the old days of their kithood. She sighed started to wash her face. "Stormheart is looking more like his grandfather everyday," purred between licks.

"Well i know he didn't inherit his hostile attitude from me...any chance he might be inheriting his grandfather's attitude as well?" he growled calmly, still sitting calmly by the lake. he had made sure his den was closer to the lake than any of the others. t shortened the distance he'd have to go if he was thirsty, and offered a more soothing position from which to think over daily events, as well as long term goals...

"Sorry to interupt..." Coldeyes mewed as he padded up to the cats, sitting. When he sat, it was his body language as to say what he had to say was important. "Snowstar has sent me to...warn you..about your son's attitude..Im certain your other spawn told you about what happened on the patrol?"

"I don't know what he's inheriting, Stonefoot had a short temper, but he wasn't irrate all the time, in fact he was quite logical with a steady head," Shadelight purred.

Stormheart looked curious, but then he just grunted and rolled to face the back of the den. Sunclaw shook her head and took the nest closest to Stormheart. "Mother says 'goodnight'," she purred to Nightclaw.

"Not the details, unfortunately. the whole issue with Firestreak appearing distracted from Stormheart's actions during the trip. would you care to tell me?" growled Wraith calmly, a seemingly indifferent look in his face, though his eyes, as always, showed a startling amount of focus, betraying his indifferent expression...

"It would appear Stormheart's restraint has failed him, and spoke out of term during the confrontation..." Coldeyes growled. "Not to mention assaulting his brother, though his sister took the hit..."

"I see...well, that kept in mind, i think i'll have yet another thing to talk to him about tomorrow. please inform Snowstar that both Stormheart and Nightclaw will be accompanying me tomorrow. it's time i put an end to this" growled Wraith...
