Space E-war

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

The wasp machine had seemingly disappeared completely, the tiny spy drone drifting lazily around the battle, too small for conventional sensors, recording all the data it could collect...

As the Vong ships neared the Dalek assault craft, two of the saucer-shaped ships lowered a single cannon from their undersides. They both fired at once, two long, red beams of energy. The frontmost Vong ships absorbed the first shot, but the second slammed into its coral hull, exploding violently and vaporizing a good chunk of the ship completely. Too distracted by its wounds, the ship was attacked by the third assault craft, taking out another chunk of the attacker. As the ship drifted away through the void, slowly dying, the next couple of ships fired back, plasma splashing against the ships' tough hulls, ignoring their shields completely. The saucers broke formation, going in arbitrary directions, all firing on a single ship once again, this time vaporizing the ship completely. While the Vong ships were distracted, using their dovin basals on the beam weapons that the Dalek ships were using, the two HKs attacked the rear ship, firing missiles and plasma cannons all across its hull, smashing through the hull with ease. Before the warship fell, it managed to send one of the HKs tumbling away, having been slammed repeatedly by plasma cannon shots, though it wasn't completely disabled. All of the Dalek ships combined managed to destroy the attackers, but their was still the rest of the Vong to deal with if they were to have Trandosha for their own. A black-and-white Dalek, sitting in one of the saucers, sent a transmission to the other faction fighting the Vong, saying, Assistance required?" As much as he hated it, the Dalek commander had little choice but to make at least a temporary alliance with someone to make the battle go easier until reinforcements arrived...

"With that battle going on and getting bigger...We have to intervene and get them away. Their only going to antagonize the Vong and perhaps rush their attacks towards other places and possibly here. This only complicates the situation...what now?" Revan then asked the others, looking at them. He felt the need to return to Trandosha and deal with the new "invaders" to Trandosha. He had to push them away before the vong attacked again...he wanted to avoid having the vong attack Imperial Space as much as possible. He already seen the effects of captured Imperial Planets and he knew he would have no choice but to cook the surface to ensure the Vong got obliterated entirely.

Ivpikkis replied (translated by A-4D), "From what I've been getting, the ships are doing a surprisingly good job at antagonizing the Vong, and the fanatical zealots won't be leaving until their enemies are destroyed, or they are. I don't think we have to worry about them leaving, which would probably be a much better scenario anyway."

The Tortoise's shield blocked most of the shots, allowing it to retreat to a safer position, out of the line of fire, the Jr-10 and Longbow dodging some and taking the rest, occasionally, the Longbow's point defences would destroy a few of the rocks before they got too close, helping to thin the hail.

The Tortoise replied to the message "Not required but certainly appreciated. Please keep a fair distance from myself and my allies and we shall do the same for you."

Then, from the side of the Vong fleet, what seemed like golden rain past, numerous shells zipping out of hyper space and shattering before they got close.... the trickle became a flood, and within seconds, the full barrage fired earlier by the swarm arrived. They exploded early, throwing out sprays of cluster bombs into the Vong ships, forcing their shields to work almost constantly all over their sides. Some of the ships were overpowered, explosions popping up all over the massive fleet, Vong ships being riddled with ordnance left and right. Most of the shots were targeting the smaller, weaker ships, which couldn't stand up to as much punishment as the larger ones. The hail didn't stop, missiles streaking in as well. Behind the volley, around 50 ships slowed out of warp speeds, approaching the Vong fleet from long range. It was comprised entirely of Jr-10 cruisers and Harbringer warships. The harbringers holding an armanent of just 2 auto cannons, an Ion cannon and a proton rifle. Its main purpose was for transporting and launching fighters and boarding parties into the fray. Behind them, more shells rang in, these ones containing high explosives and aimed at the ship's whose Dovin Basals had failed.....

The exposed flank of the Vong fleet turned on the new arrivals, though they wouldn't do much good, despite the intensity of the weapons fire they produced. Instead, Tsavong Lah sent a larger contingent of ships, among them several worldships, towards the 50 ships, the fleet sending hails of plasma and Grutchins towards them...

The rest of the ships continued firing on the Longbow and JR-10, and a large Grutchin managed to push its way through the nano-bot shield, its thick carapace protecting it from most attacks, allowing it to latch onto the ship and begin tearing at it viciously with acid-laced mandibles.

The Dalek forces kept their distance, the assault craft sniping away at the Vong ships, though only aiming at the smaller or weaker ones, letting their "allies" focus on the larger and more dangerous ships.

Thrall looked out his window, observing the battle at hand. Ships flying into other ships, strange, robotic creatures destroying one another. Gorko looked at him, waiting for orders. Thrall sighed, saying "Send out the call."

Gorko nodded, grinned and punched a few key's in. After that he grabbed his Mic and screamed into it, sending out a signal to any and all life forms able to get it.

"Oi! Wot' one of ya' lazy gits out dere' tinks' youze be needin da' Greenskins help?!"

The Jr-10's Ion cannon folded in and targeted the gretchin, firing and vapourising the creature before it could do much damage, it started firing missiles from the silos on its back, targeting any gretchin which got too close, managing to push back the wave of insectoid monsters, the dual ion cannons continued to sweep along helping to thin the tide.

The fleet of ships spread out, waves of proton rifle fire and auto cannon bursts lancing into the Vong's Dovin Basals, the sheer amount of incoming fire being too much for some of them block at once, leaving shells rattling against the coral hulls and blowing large sprays of material off them. The 50 ships rocketed towards the Vong line, working together to minimise damage. If one ship's shield was taking too much punishment, it would fall back behind an ally and use them as a shield, helping to shoot down incoming projectiles in return for the protection. They mostly ignored the worldships, deciding to try avoid them for now.

The Grutchins were shot down by Ion cannons mostly, the few that got close enough being splattered contact with their shields, behind them, out of the Vong's range, a handful of Longbows slowed out of warp speeds, using the data gathered during the earlier battle to avoid the Vong's range. They begun firing volleys of cluster bombs into the Vong fleet, adding to the hail of destruction.

The Tortoise recieved another clearband transmission "The first Arachnid will be arriving momentarily with a contingent of Ambushers. Make its presence count."

The worldships launched single, gigantic plasma shots at the newly arrived ships, the flaming rocks being nearly immune to most attacks aimed at them, allowing the shots to plow through the fleet with relative ease, knocking ships in every direction, before finally shattering, scattering smaller chunks throughout the fleet, each one like a single shot from a plasma cannon.

The Dalek ships watched the Vong and the new ships exchange fire, deciding to ignore the battle for now. They seemed to be handling it pretty well anyway. The Dalek commander replied to the new message, "Exterminate the organic ships."

Gorko played the voice out loud, so that Thrall could hear it. He immediately growled, rather loudly. "Oi, what makes dos' buckets of bolts think we should help them?!"

The Goblin shrugged "Boss, I don' get dese' Gits. Scannas' say dat dey' have Organz inside em'. Dey be more skin and bones dan duh other onez!"

Thrall growled, raising a large metal claw, rubbing the horn on the side of his head. He sighed loudly. "Oi, if nothing else, da' other ones look betta. Fire on da' ones dat' asked for our help!"

The Goblin grinned, nodded, then slammed a few buttons on his control panel. Various sized missiles rocketed out of the Winkin' Skull, heading straight towards the Dalek's.

The missiles exploded harmlessly against one of the assault craft's shields, and the Dalek commander replied, this time with a particularly angry tone, "You will be EXTERMINATED!" The three assault craft turned as one, firing their beam weapons, which were identical in function to the Dalek's own weapon, but on a much greater scale, and would quickly tear the Winkin' Skull to pieces if they didn't dodge...

Due to the space between the fleet, the large plasma shots only really threatened one pair of ships at a time, which could dodge them easily enough. Only a one or two of the large shots actually did anything in either grazing a ship's shield or by forcing them into a line of fire from the smaller guns. The plasma shot's large aspect allowed the ships to judge its flight path early on and simply move out of its way.

The massive worldships didn't have that advantage, their huge bulk incresing the JR-10's effective range 10 fold. In response to the large plasma shots, a hail of GPC fire burst out of the drone's line, rocketing towards the Worldship like meteors....

Gorko screeched out, the ship being fart to huge to just dodge something like those. Thrall raised a robotic arm, slamming down on a panel next to his chair.

A door on one of the sides of the large, orange and black craft opened up, spraying out all matter of bits and pieces of metal. The plasma hit them, which wouldn't have stopped it, but then the metal blew up, the explosion counter acting the plasma, causing it to stop.

Thrall snarled out. "Get da' Boyz on dos' ship! Board em, Board em, Board em!"

Gorko tapped something and from the bottom of the Winkin' Skull, all matters of craft, all shapes and sizes, rocked out towards the Dalek's ship, spraying machine guns, smaller missiles, and for the ones that had it even a few plasma or laser shots. All had one thought in mind. Crash into the sides and board the Dalek ships.

"That battle is only growing larger. Perhaps this may be a distraction to sneak into Trandosha itself and find the Vong Overlord" Revan then suddenly said, the idea coming to his mind. The Grand Admiral he kept constant communication with only proceeded to talk about the situation of the battle. The Dark Lord of the Sith was poised...ready to fight. Sneaking while that battle raged on was a semi good idea but there still were problems. The Empress wondered if anybody else was thinking the same thing...

"If we go through with that plan," replied Grievous, "I will be the one to head down there. No disfigured alien psychopath is going to take my home planet so easily."

The worldships' numerous dovin basals made dodging a nonfactor, simply absorbing most of the weapons fire, with the remaining ordnance doing little to the massive ships, which fired back with Grutchins, more as shields than anything, along with more than enough plasma fire to level cities...

The two HKs swooped in behind the Ork craft, one of them with a damaged engine pod, making it slightly slower than its partner. The two fired their plasma cannons, the bright white plasma bullets each taking out a single craft in a large explosion. The ships followed up with missile fire, raining explosive missiles on the boarding craft and taking even more out. The Daleks were well-prepared for an attempted boarding, Dalek soldiers, bolstered by T7-T Spiders and T-600s, lining the corridors of their craft. If the boarders could get through the thick hulls and powerful shielding first, that is.

The GPC shots that hit sunk through coral just as easy as it did any known metal, exploding and filling the wound it had dug with dense super heated gas, digging out large craters. The shots were generally designed to melt the insides of ships, penetrating through the armour and filling the insides with the deadly gas, destroying crew and systems alike. Here, they simply ate into its hull like acid.

Thundering into the battle, the Arachnid came out of hyperspace... The enormous ship's numerous limbs all folding down to point their weapons forward, giving the huge ship a pine cone like shape for now. A glow built up around a number of its arms, its Ion cannon tagging the Worldship. All four of the weapons fired at once, 4 white beams connecting the weapon's muzzles to the Worldship's hull, which seemed to erupt into flames in an expanding circle around where the beams made contact, in truth, the molecules that made it up were destroyed continuously. If the Vong wanted to block the beams, they would need to keep their Dovin Basals up permanently... The other arms on the Arachnid got to work, its huge rotary auto cannon stretched out, firing shell after shell into the battle.

Behind it, 4 'asteroids' tumbled through space, the Ambushers remaining in idle mode for now.

"Take that thing out!" barked Tsavong Lah angrily. Hundreds more ships entered the battle, firing viciously on the Arachnid's flank, bolstered by even more worldships, all of which pounded the Arachnid's flank with a gargantuan wave of plasma...

The Arachnid's shield flickered as the Nanobots ebbed about, blocking the various shots. Another of its arms rotated around, being brought to bare against the alien fleet, the top of the weapon opening up slowly, revealing the Disintegrator below, energy being fed into a stasis field building up the shot. The field turned off, and the slab of blinding matter was released. The shot zipped off into the distance immediately, heat radiating off the cannon immediately, parts of its surface glowing white hot momentarily. The shot crashed into a Vong craft of roughly the same size and cleaved right through its rear end, ripping out the other side and breaking up as it powered into the distance. The fleet units which had gone ahead merged with the Vong armada, the Harbringers releasing fighters and bombers to deal with the craft around them. A squadron of Jr-10's broke away from the main fighting and flew up towards the Worldship being targeted by the Arachnid, the 7 craft dispersing and swarming around the much larger ship, firing on it with all they had, proton rifles, missiles, auto cannons, even their Ion cannons, all contributing to the drain on the Dovin Basals.

The 4 long bows which had arrived earlier concentrated their fire on the new comer ships, pounding their shields with cluster bombs.

The attacking JR-10s paid for their eagerness, being smacked aside with brutal force by the Dread Weapons that lived within the worldship, the massive worms easily swatting the JR-10s away like flies. Coralskippers and Slayer ships assisted against the Harbingers and their cargo, and the Vong ships continued pounding the Arachnid, unfazed by losing only one ship, no matter how powerful a weapon the Disintegrator was. Eventually, the Arachnid's shields would fail, and the ship's hull couldn't hold up against such an attack for very long...

As one of the dread weapons lashed out at a Jr-10, smashing through its shield and throwing the craft away, two missiles roared towards it, barely visible against the worms bulk, they both zipped into the monsters mouth, curling down its throat with machine accuracy... A few seconds later, two seismic shockwaves ripped out of the monsters base, spreading across the Worldship's hull, ripping up its surface, seemingly in slow motion from the grand scale of the blasts. The dead weapon the missiles had struck had been blown off the surface of the ship, blood following its shredded corpse through the vacuum of space. What remained was a gory wound in the Worldships surface and a vulnerable target with its shield failing. At times, the ion cannons would sweep across the coral surface instead of being absorbed by the Dovin Basals. Their strength was fading, and with it, the Worldships prospects.

Several of the new comer vong warships fell under the Longbow's barrage, the cluster bombs stretched the Dovin Basals to breaking point, then high explosive penetration shells killed off the vulnerable ships.

The Arachnids shield stood up to the punishment, though it took considerable damage. It aimed its heavy GPC at another Vong ship and fired, the massive bolt roaring towards the enemy vessel. Its Auto cannon rotated around, still firing, directing the shells towards its curent attackers. 16 more Longbows came out of Hyperspace, keeping at a moderate range and adding to the supply of shells into combat.

The Tortoise observed the battle, noting how ferociously they attacked the Arachnid. It gave the order to launch the Ambush that had been placed earlier. From the nearby unnamed star, a longbow burst out of the sun's surface, immediately opening fire on the fleets rear. From one of the solar systems planets, the hiding Arachnid and Jr-10 rose out of the atmosphere, the arachnid opening fire on the enemy warships, the Jr-10 rocketing out, prepared to try shoot down shots aimed at the Arachnid.

The Tortoise's original escorts, the jr-10 and longbow had long since been disabled, leaving one force of drones fighting the front of the Vong fleet and then the Daleks and the Ambush attacking it from the rear.
