No, Scar growled. We've been migrating for a few weeks now, following the Hadrosaur herds. Some of the fish-eaters have already found our old cave that Crusher sometimes lives in, so there's no gurantee it will be safe. He'll be fine with the juvenile raptors.

(Sorry! I'm not with it today, got a lot on my mind)

Exile growled in reply and turned away. She stared at Chomper with interest as he snapped a bug out of the sky. Rampage was looking down at him proudly as Crusher turned to face them.

Crusher growled "i think we should go to the cave, and chase off any fish eaters there. we are definately strong enough, especially Hunter from what i saw when we were attacked. he can definately fight well enough to be decisive. after that, my family would live there, and would be very difficult to attack. we're stronger than most other predators our size. anything big enough to fight us, is too big to fit in the cave, and anything small enough to fit, isn't strong enough to attack us without being killed. and, now that you are moving around the island, you aren't in my territory as much as you used to be. larger predators could scatter your pack if they attack as a group. i would gladly agree, but i am worried about the safety. some predators would try and attack you if they found that one of MY hatchlings were with you. if you would stay at that old cave, it would be much safer. my family will live there until we have fully recovered, which would mean we could help eachother. the only problem then would be food, though i think that a large number of very slow, only slightly dangerous Stegos live near the cave. the oldest and weakest of the Stegosaur herds seem to migrate there in summer, since their favourite plants grow there. it's the only place on the island that they grow at. in my years of roaming the island as an outcast, before i started to seek revenge, i learned many things about the herbivores of the island.". Crusher looked at his newborn son, hopping up and down, occasionally missing his target and falling on his back, making Hunter grunt with amusement. his little brother was fun to watch. Crusher looked back at the Raptors and waited for a response.

(It's fine if you missed some things ERC. I missed plenty of stuff in the old RPG, and I'm sure that I still do.)

Scar listened to Crusher's argument. He was right, it would be safer to stay with them in the cave. But they couldn't abandon the Hadrosaur herds now. We couldn't come and stay with you, Crusher, He growled. Raptors from all over the island follow the hadrosaur herds into Spino territory, that's why there are so many spinos. And they bring with them their juveniles, and at the end of the season the juveniles form new packs. It's where we've found a few other raptors, like SharpClaw, and if we don't go, we'll force the juveniles to stay with us until next summer. We won't be able to hunt enough food for all of them.

Crusher nodded, then growled "im not forcing you. it's only an offer. if you need a safe haven from Spinos during your summer travels, just meet us at the cave. you'll be safe there. any Spino who dares to attack would have me to deal with, if not Hunter.". Crusher then looked at each of the raptors in turn. he was hoping the faces he had grown accustomed to seeing would be around next time they met. he worried at the idea of his friends living in Spino territory for 5 months [equatorial places have 2 seasons, with 5-6 months each]. he waited for a response.....

We'll be fine Crusher, Scar growled. There will be lots of other raptors there and we've been doing it for years We'll come see you every few weeks, and if anything happens we'll come back to your territory. He looked at the other raptors to see if they were ready to leave, too.

Exile understood, but wasn't too happy about staying away from Crusher. The other raptors did it every year but it was her first time. She wondered if they would meet any other raptors on their travels.
She noticed Scar looking at her seeing if she was ready to leave. She growled in response; they would have to leave some time...

Scar agreed. Come on, he growled. The Velociraptors left Crusher with his family, and began the run back to where they had left the pack.

Crusher, having eaten his fill, was now ready to rest. his mate had had a brief rest, although it was out of injury rather than sleepiness. Hunter seemed wide awake, so Crusher decided to leave him to guard the nest while he rested. he closed his eyes, the stresses and worries drifting away as he fell asleep.....

The group of raptors returned to the cave where they had left the rest of the pack. Most of the group was still asleep, but a few were still awake, guarding the rest of the pack with weary eyes. Scar laid down to sleep, and began to think about the possibility of other species somewhere on the other islands...

the next day, Crusher got up and escorted his family to the cave. when they arrived, they found a young bary sleeping. Crusher killed it, to avoid letting the Suchos know about his family moving. after that, he went on his usual patrol...

Fury was asleep in the cave when he woke up in pain from something attacking his neck.He looked up and saw Chomper hoping around him.He growled quietly and Chomper ran back to him mother.Fury got up and walked around the cave to see if anything was going on.He found nothing of interest and walked back to his resting spot.He laid back down and started to doze off when he felt something by him.He ignored it untill he felt a sharp, but not that painful, pain on his nose.He opened hs eyes to find that Chomper had returned. He roared this time.Chomper sped away quickly and he saw Rampage look at him (Fury) with a slightly disgusted look.He is not going to make it past 1 if he keeps this up. Fury growled to himself as he glared at Chomper for a moment. Chomper was annoying him badly. He laid there untill he heard the return of Crusher, whom's footsteps jared him awake.

Crusher arrived at the cave, and growled "did anything come to the cave while i was away?". Hunter and Rampage both shook their heads, and Crusher growled "i'm going hunting. everyone stay here until i get back.". he left again, and soon arrived at the plains. he noticed a pair of Suchos fishing in the river. it was inside his territory, so he decided to scare them off. he made a territorial roar. the too stopped fishing and headed towards him. he was almost invisible, his skin camouflaged in the trees. when they came close enough, Crusher charged, and rammed one to trhe ground. the other one slashed him on the back, and he responded by whipping it with his tail. the hit knocked it to the ground. Crusher put a foot on the neck of the first Sucho, and growled "do not enter my territory again, or you will pay with your life. go back to your pack, and leave this island, or i will hunt each and every one of you, until i have killed you all.". the Sucho hissed, then struggled to nod. Crusher lifted his foot off of it's neck, and it got up and ran. the other one was more persistant. it got up, and tried to slash Crusher. it was met with a jaw full of razor sharp teeth. Crusher bit onto the swinging arm, crushed it, then tore it off. the Sucho roared in pain, and tried slashing him with the other hand. the same happened again, and it was soon armless. Crusher finally bit onto it's snout, and smashed the first half foot of it, then roared "get out! get out of my territory!". the Sucho finally listened and ran, a trail of blood behind it. "with a bit of luck, a Giga will rampage through their pack, and shake them up a bit before i get there..." thought Crusher. he then continued to head toward the area where the Stegos were usually resting, on the shore a few miles from the cave...

[to avoid confusion, the area Crusher is heading to is on a small curve, near the edge of the island, a few miles from the cave. rather than following the beach, Crusher took a short cut through the plains]

Scar sat up, suddenly alert. Heavy breathing had awakened him, breathing that would come from no raptor. He looked around, and realized that he wasn't where he had been the night before. It was a differant part of the forest, and as he became more alert, he could here tides. So wherever Scar was, it was somehwere near the channels, or the sea itself.

Looking around, he found that he was surrounded by a steep wall of mud, and in the center, several pale white eggs. It was then that he noticed there was a shadow cast over him. Looking up, he saw a Spinosaurus looking back down at him. He was in the nest of a Spinosaurus.

Then he noticed that the eggs were wiggling. He would probably be food soon. He was a parent, and he knew what would happen should he try to escape. First, they would probably just try to knock him down, to keep him from moving. If he was persistant, or if he tried to hurt the young, they'd break his legs, like what the raptors did with the compies they gave to their hatchlings. They would kill him if he tried to do anything more.

It would be easiest just to try to figure out how he had gotten here, miles from his pack. He had been awoken for gaurd duty not long after he had tried to sleep, and could easily have dozed off and then be plucked up by the Spinosaur while it was looking for something to give to its soon-to-be-born young.

In desperation, Scar's mind began to form a plan to escape. It was risky, if he mis-judged the way the Spinosaurs would react, he'd be dead quickly. If he didn't, he'd at least have a slight chance of escaping. Scar began to wait for one of the Spinosaur eggs to hatch...

As Crusher neared the hunting ground, he picked up the scent of a Spino. his territory was still at least 4 miles in every direction, and the scent wouldn't be as strong if it was any further away than 3. Crusher decided to follow the scent, to see what it led him too.....

In the Spinosaurus nest, Scar was waiting for the first of the 5 Spinosaur eggs to hatch. He watched as one of them cracked open and revealed a young Spinosaur, barely the size of a turkey. Scar licked his lips, if he ever survived, he would have to lead the pack back here.

Putting his hunger behind him, he reveiwed his plan. As the Spinosaur young approached, Scar drew back his clawed foot, and when the spino young walked too close, he kicked out at it, sending it flying back into the other eggs. The adult Spinosaur looked down in confusion, first to the hurt young, then to Scar. It roared in anger, and Scar ran desperatly into the jungle.

It was barely 200 feet before he ran into the another Spinosaurus. It roared in anger at him, and while its mate was checking on the young, it gave chase to Scar.

His speed increased by adrenaline, Scar thought he had a chance. The Spinosaurus was slower, but Scar was tired and hungry. He made a mistake and tripped, falling over. The Spinosaur emerging from the jungle jsut behind him, he looked around for something to help him survive. He spied a small hole beneath the roots of a tree, and rolled into it. Though he only had limited vision in the cave, he could see the Spinosaur's snout as it paused and sniffed the ground...

Crusher heard the 2 roars and followed the second, which was closer, and definately in his territory. he charged toward it, his rage colours appearing, as he thought about the needle snouted fish eaters that ruined his life. he arrived and found a Spino sniffing the ground. Crusher could smell Scar, and his skin grew vibrant. he made a territorial roar, which instantly brought the attention of the Spino. it roared back, and Crusher snarled "how dare you invade my territory! leave now and i'll let you, your mate and hatchlings live!". the Spino roared at him and charged. Crusher dodged it, and slammed it on the side with his head. it stumbled and roared. Crusher tried to bite it's arm, to help weaken it, so that he could kill it. he missed, and was bitten on the neck. the needle sharp, very small teeth couldn't get through all the muscle to get to his neck or jugular veins. he shook his head, breaking some of the teeth, and forcing the Spino to open it's mouth. Crusher swung his head into the Spino's making it dizzy. he then bit on it's arm, and ripped it out of the socket, making the Spino roar in a way that sounded like a shriek. he then bit onto the snout and crushed it. it roared again, this time more a gurgle than a roar, as the blood in it's partially smashed snout ran down it's throat. Crushed tried swinging his head up into it's chest. he was met with a swinging arm, which left a small slash down the side of his head. he growled in frustration and slight pain, then bit on the arm, and ripped the fore arm off, leaving a bloody stub where the arm used to be. the Spino roared, and Crusher swung his head into the small chest of his target. the result was surprising. the Spino was lifted off it's feet, sent flying into a couple of trees, and crashing into the ground with the familiar crunch of broken bones. the trees fell on top of the Spino, breaking the bones even more. the Spino had at least 6 broken ribs, a broken leg, no arms, a crushed snout, and a smashed up, shredded sail. it roared in pain, frustration and exhaustion. Crusher came to it and swung his head down into it's skull, smashing it and killing it instantly. he then looked at a small cave and growled. he saw the familiar glint of raptor eyes. it was Scar...

Scar had watched the fight withh surprise, only when Crusher had battled Thrasher did he display anywhere near this much ferocity. Climbing from the small hole that he had hid in, Scar thanked Crusher and sped off back to where he had left the pack. Hopefully they wouldn't have abandoned the cave...

Crusher was glad to see his friend was safe. he then went to the source of the second roar. he found a female caring for it's young. Crusher growled "leave my territory, or you'll die as your mate did.". the Spino looked at him fearfully. her mate was the second strongest Spino she had ever seen. with only Thrasher as a superior. in reality there were 5 spinos stronger than her mate, but weaker than Thrasher. she had only seen Her father and her mate. she was one of the 3 hatchlings that Thrasher had that were still alive. she was terrified to see the rex that killed her father standing in front of her, but she couldn't abandon her nest. she roared at him, trying to scare him away from her nest, and trying to make her hatchlings feel safe. it was useless. Crusher made a roar that dwarved hers, and warned her again "leave now, and you won't be hurt!". he was usually gentle around youngsters, but he absolutely hated Spinos, no matter how young, old, strong, weak, big or small they were. he wouldn't feel even the slightest bit of remorse if he killed every last hatchling in the nest. Scar's scent was here too, so that fuelled his anger even more. she growled quietly, and looked at her hatchlings. she looked at Crusher with rage bubbling up in her. suddenly, she charged and slashed Crusher's side when he dodged. he bit onto her sail and ripped a chunk out of it. she roared in pain. she froze after moving far enough away to be out of Crusher's immediate range. Crusher growled "leave now with your hatchlings, or die. the choice is yours. do it quick, or you will lose more than your sail.". the Spino finally complied, and went to the nest, where all the eggs had hatched, and led them through the trees to a small clearing on the edge of Crusher's territory. when all of them had left his territory and were out of site, Crusher returned to his family at the cave.....

Scar sprinted through the jungle back to the cave where the rest of the pack would hopefully be waiting for him. Emerging from the jungle before the hill where the cave was, he was alarmed to find that their scent was fading. He put his nose to the ground and began to follow the fading scent, wondering where they had gone...
