As Deviant stepped out of the building, a sleek blue and black van pulling onto the lot outside the unfinished building. Its front had a gentle downwards curve to it so that it looked like a truck's cab, the windshield just above the lights and so fourth. It looked like a regular car, except it wasnt marked by a license plate. Deviant stepped up to the back of the van, opening the door with one hand and slipping Roger in to lie on his back. "Dont worry kid, these guys here will sort out your story after we get that leg fixed up" He pulled out and closed the door. The seats themselves were cream colored, and there was a black pane of glass that seperated the front seats from the back. After Deviant stepped into the front seat, he asked the driver "Where are we taking him? Back to HQ?" The driver, dressed in a padded blue uniform with black pockets and stripes over the shoulder said "Taking him to the nearest hospital, let the doctors find out about him...and then do a scan based on that data in the city. If he ran away from somewhere out of town though, that complicates things"
"More complicated than an armed hostile just disappearing where this kid showed up?" Deviant asked, humor evident,
"Its not like you picked IT up and put it in the back there right?" The driver said light heartedly, the van reversing out of the lot and back onto the streets...

Neeblestrix dismissed him with a wave of his hand "All the more reason to make sure they don't know we're coming."

Roger glanced around the back of the van, flicking through his iris's and scanning the small space for any sensors that could be watching him, he needed to slip away quitely.

The Nexus LKT, or Low Key Transport, ingeniusly disguised as a van was, obviously, no ordinary van. Its bullt proof hide was 6 inches thick- obviously making it heavier than your average vehicle. Which meant, it had a high powered engine to move it- and a high powered engine it is, able to send the vehicle careening down the streets safely at 50 miles per hour, 80 on a straight stretch of high way. The thing was riddled with sensors, optic on all sides, radiation, and electromagnetic. Inside, though it didnt have optics, had motion and force detectors on the doors. Anything that made a force reading higher than the constant value would trigger the...restraint technologies incorperated into the seats. These restraints..were more often than not...deadly. A precaution. The logic being that any person taken in the van would have no inscentive to attempt to break out as its moving. In the situation that someone DID attempt to do so, tasers incorperated into the door pannels would fire into said target and send 10,000 volts of sustained electricity through it. The glass seperating the robot from Deviant and the driver was tempered to have a high melting point, bullet proof and tinted black to make seeing through it difficult. By now, the van was driving cassually down the street, passing cars next to it as it went down a fairly vacant lane..

The Hornet's mimic camo spluttered, his image switching between roger and the his true form rapidly. He shut it off momentarily, taking a few seconds to recover from the drain it had taken on his system. He examined the results of his scan, marvelling at the complexity of the vehicle. He took more time to examine the residue being collected through his soakage unit, the component absorbing the wasted energy of machine's around him to provide a back up power source. It was useful for determining changes in the level of nearby electrical activity as well.

As the van went on its way, Devaint laid his head on the door's arm rest, drumming his fingers on his helmet boredly. His attention was caught by something. "Whats that moniter there?" Deviant said, pointing with the finger he was tapping his helmet with.
"What the hell!?" The driver said. "Thing must be busted- its the EMF reader, and theres a large amount of energy coming from you- natrually, and where that boy is in the back seat- but...it cant be busted. We do mantainance on these things every two weeks!"
"Something tells me thats no boy..." Deviant said, hands on the pistols. The driver hastilly changed coarse for Nexus HQ, taking one hand off of the steering wheel to flip the switch near it, turning on the constraints that were built into the back seats....

Gunshots. That's all they heard, coming from outside. What a perfect day to cash in his bloody paycheck. But who would've known you could die on a trip to the bank? ...Maybe that was a stupid question. Either way, he was pissed. Pissed and scared out of his mind.

A body crashed through the glass door of the bank, throwing open the doors in the process, the corpse stuck in parts of the door which used to contain glass. A person walked in after it, dusting off the tan trench coat they were wearing, shards of glass falling to the floor in the process. A security guard who had been hiding inside lashed out with a panicked yell, trying to pistol whip the person. A limb seemed to appear out of no where, kneeing the guard in the stomach, causing him to slouch over with a whimper, a hand grabbing the back of his neck before throwing him forward, slamming, head first, into a wall near the door. Another, more slender person was now standing in front of the first, wearing a black trench coat, looking more formal then its predecessor. The head, however, was covered by a hood, while the first man looked rather normal.

"You do enjoy taking the fun out of my work." the first, a man, said coolly, as if the current situation was merely a game, pushing back his jet black hair, as if concerned about its appearance. "Your work is flawed. Why you are kept around is a mystery to all." the second, talking in a slightly robotic voice, said, its voice vaguely feminine. Standing straight up, the female pulled down the hood, revealing a gas-mask like device, which seemed to double as a metal helmet, wrapping all around her head. The female disappeared in a cloud of what seemed like smoke, reappearing near the cowering patrons, looking at them through a single black visor. "They are unarmed. If no heroics are attempted, the operation will be complete in just a few minutes." she announced objectively, rising back up, replacing the hood on her head, before disappearing once more, moving into the back areas of the bank, toward the frightened tellers. The man shrugged, leaning against the doorway, lighting a cigarette while watching the civilians, clearly bored.

Oh great, he was a hostage now! Why didn't the freaks just take the money and leave?! It was so infuriating to be at risk from this crap day in and day out. He was a working man! He didn't have time for this sh*t! The police in the city seemed to be better equipped to deal with these monsters...why did they equip vulnerable areas like BANKS, too?! Even cartoon villains go for the banks! If he ran the city, things would be diff-

The man flicked the cigarette onto his lap, somehow standing right in front of him. "Troubled? Don't be. We won't take up much more of your time." the man said, smirking at the civilian, who had been mumbling to himself while showing subtle aggressive gestures...like punching the air. Typical sign of a 'hero'. They never get the fact that good samaritans have very short lives...

Neeblestrix turned back to his screen, thinking to himself quietly..

The Hornet looked up, sensing the sudden change in direction. His GPS wasn't working, so he couldn't track his progress...

By now, Deviant was on his communicator, getting scolded by his head commanders. "You had ONE objective. ONE. And you couldnt complete IT?!" A man yelled over the armored hero's reciever.
"You expect me to just leave an innocent in a hostile situation!?" Deviant said with a whisper, though the tone was urgent.
"Yes! Especially when the "innocent" is what's making the situation HOSTILE!"
"Theres no way I could have know-"
"Excuses arent permitte-"
"Oh bite me!" Deviant snapped before closing communications. It took him a split second more to realize what he had just dont. "..Ooh f*ck" He blurted outloud, the driver of the van too focused on getting to head quarters to hear...

The low, mournful-sounding howl of a wolf came from a small grove of trees beside a house that had recently burned to the ground. Deep orange eyes glared at the remains - the last connection to the animal's past. She slowly blinked, and began to morph back to her human form. The fur retracted into her body, paws became hands and feet, the muzzle slowly shrank to a human face. With a crunch, as if a stiff joint were cracking, the demon snapped upright. She was slightly disoriented with the shift from wolf to human, but it was getting better every time she morphed. Slowly. Yoruichi cracked her neck and surveyed her work. Everything from her childhood was gone now. The bloodstains, the house - everything. With a jaw-cracking yawn, she turned back to the trees. She could rest on the moss around their roots. She was going without a bed again...but that was okay. She was used to it. And moss was better than a tree branch, or the dirt. At least it provided a bit of comfort...and it was only for now.

Tires screeched as the van skidded into the empty parking space on a barren parking lot, a strange warehouse just infront of it. For a few tense moment, there was absolute silence. Deviant's hands were on the hilts of his guns, fingers just about on the triggers and expecting the robot to try something. The ground suddenly rumbled, the black top rising up from under the van and moving apart. A mechanical platform pressed against the undercarriage just before the ground slid out from under the tires. A mechanical hum sounded off as the platform descended underground, the two halves of the parking space sliding back into place as it sank into the ground...

Amidst the shadows cast by the large buildings lining the streets of the city is the faint cracks between the towering forms. Alleyways are often seen as the scourge of the city, they are meant for trash, and purse robbing scum bags who have nothing better to do but terrorize anyone who wants to walk through there.
The city was a tough place, as Jake is well aware. But these hostile habitats, he learned to call his home. And here he lies, slumped in a corner, consumed by shade, and coughing up a storm. He was miserable the past few weeks, he seldom left the alleys, as he had picked up a nasty virus. He was coughing non stop, his skin was pale and his senses were dulled, even the symbiote couldn’t help him through this.
“H-hey kid!” echoed a voice. Jake wasn’t usually confronted by the strangers of this city, he didn’t think the call was directed at him, or even in his direction, but it was a sharp wake up. It was as though the man was right next to him. Jake decided it was in his best interest to ignore it, and get to sleep, before his nose started to pick up the smell of the dumpster he was propped up next to.
“Kid?...” the voice said again. Jake opened his eyes again, that wasn’t a coincidence, the voice positioned the man at being right in front of him. Jake looked up, squinting as he took in the sunlight, which faintly silhouetted the man’s figure. He was rough looking, as though he lived on the streets just like Jake did, but something about him gave Jake the impression he lived in an apartment. But the mans appearance was not of interest, it was the gun in the mans hand that was.
“Kid, I-I’m going to need you to… give me what you’ve got.” The man sounded nervous, Jake knew he wasn’t going to pull the trigger. He’d deal with this one quickly, persevering as much energy as he could. He wasn’t in the mood for games. Perhaps caught in his thoughts, Jakes reaction was delayed after a brief pause he finally said, “your not going to pull that trigger.”
“Kid, please don’t mess with me, just give me any money you have on you.”
Jake realized then that what he was wearing, aside from a few small stains his clothes were clean, he looked like a freaking rich kid who got stoned, or wasted and just past out in some alleyway, this guy thought this would be some easy prophet, to bad for him.
A small tentacle materialized on Jakes face, it slid across his cheek. More tentacles began to protrude from his body. “Walk away, sir.” Jake warned. The man stumbled back in shock, but his gun stayed steady, his expression was shock, but Jake couldn’t see any fear. It was like the guy didn’t believe in what he was seeing. “P-please kid, just give me all you got.” The man said, a tear rolled down his cheek. Jake could see he misread the man, he was desperate, he wanted to survive, and he’d kill to do it. He was willing to do, what needed to be done, but he wasn’t content with it.
The man’s finger muscles tightened, he was ready to pull the trigger. Jake wasn’t going to let that happen, with a brisk push he launched upwards, throwing his arm forward to swipe at the guys face, and tear it to pieces. But it didn’t go as planned, a violent shock sent Jake flying back, partnered by a deafening of the ears. Jake hit the wall hard seeing blood splattered across it, already oozing down its brick surface. He looked for a wound any where, but realized that the blood was dripping from his own forehead. He was shot right between the eyes. The only reason he was still alive was probably because of the symbiote.
Jake grabbed onto the man’s arm, holding himself up, but then another deafening shot sounded, this time Jake was hit right in the stomach. He looked into the man’s eyes, he was afraid, the man was afraid. Jake realized then, that he was scared too. He watched as the tentacles slithered from his body to his killer’s arms, he watched as what was keeping him alive, what was numbing the pain, abandoned him for the person who was causing the pain. And as Jake became limp, and as he let go of the man’s arm, he realized his life would end. And that that man, took away everything he had, and everything he would ever get, including the symbiote.

There, he did it. The kid was dead, Adam was not expecting this to happen, he didn’t look like a fighter, he didn’t look like someone who would do something like that. He didn’t even know why he shot the kid, he just did. And was he seeing things? What was that that was crawling on the kids face, Adam hadn’t been drinking lately, he hadn’t tried shrooms ever in his life, but he MUST have been hallucinating, the liquid crawled into his freaking arm, but he didn’t feel it, or at least he didn’t think he felt it.
Adam stooped over and felt into the kids pockets. Nothing, no wallet, no cash, not even a knife or lighter. What was the point of this? He was going to end up in jail and he wouldn’t even be able to get a decent meal before it, he wouldn’t get to have a better mattress or money to pay off his debts, he was screwed. He couldn’t afford a lawyer; the police would be sure to send him to jail for the rest of his life.
Adam screamed leaning over the kid, and looking down at him, using his arms to hold himself up against the wall. He didn’t know exactly how but he became exactly like the people he HATED. He became a common thief, but a failure of a common thief, the kind of failure who winds up shooting somebody without any money. Adam pushed himself off the wall after a while, he realized then he was sobbing, as the tears strolled down his face instead of hitting Jakes body. Adam stumbled away, he dropped the gun at Jake’s feet, maybe he deserved what he was going to get.

There was a soft pattering behind the man, followed by heavy breathing. In the shade of the building, was a person, standing in a crouch. A streak of light passed over the person's arm, revealing a white sleave with what looked like blue flames on it. The person's hand was covered by a grey glove. He stood up, his breath still loud, and then stepped into the light. It was SpeedFreak, the hero back on the streets again. Due to advances in medical science, his broken arm was fixed in little more than a week. He spent a few days however, carrying on like a normal person. He touched his suit only once after the fight with Havoc, to clean it and do some repairs. The boy stared hatefully at the man infront of him, though his mask rendering his face emotionless. "You...bas*ard..." SpeedFreak rasped...

He was looking for Jake. He really was, searching the city. He looked a top the roofs of buildings, homing in on sounds of struggle, hoping it would be Jake picking fights with thugs. Each time it WAS a thug, but they were mugging innocent people. Upon discovering them though, there was a blurry display of speed, followed by a flurry of movement and the sounds of blows slamming into various parts of the attacker's body. Tonight, he was looking for the symbiote teen, wanting to appologize for leaving him with the strange mutant and his friend, even if he felt he was innocent. He heard the gun shots. He ran down the streets, a blur, certain that he was just going to find another civilian standing off with an armed scum bag. There was a three story building in his way, and the streak simply sped up the obstacle, running along the wall and flipping onto the roof. It was there, he saw Jake get shot once more, in the stomach. It was all too surreal. He always thought the way Jake lived would get him killed...and he just saw it happen. He stumbled back, processing the images in a daze. He slammed his face into his palms, trembling. It took slightly longer for him to leap off the building's side ending up where he was now...

Adam turned to see who's voice that was. His cheeks were moist with tears. All he saw was a kid dressed in a somewhat silly outfit, but boy did he sound pissed. He was squinting but he could still make the kid out. But something, something in him changed, he felt... different, remarkable.
stand strong friend, we know this one.
A voice spoke from his thoughts. It had no sound or pitch, it was just there, like he thought it himself. He raised a hand up to his head, just thinking about it was like a headache, and hearing it was like a migrane.
His feet stumbled a bit, he was in shock, he couldn't think straight or concentrate. He couldn't say anything to the kid, he just stared with a perplexed look at him.

"Well!?" SpeedFreak yelled, fists clenched. "Say something you peice of sh*t! Before I strangle you with your tongue!" The boy roared at Adam, muscles tense. He didnt think. Ussually he'd incapacitate someone and leave them for the police...though, this time, he could only think of serving justice for the dead boy on the cold ground...

We should leave you Adam, we should let you perish, feed you to Kevin, or as he calls himself: Speed freak.
the thoughts counquered his mind, he could understand them well, he was being talked to, but by what?
you killed our host so we have decided, you should fill in the roll which you so ruthlessly opened, and to do that, your going to need to survive. Your going to need to survive with us, or we will kill you, and we will let someone else take your place.
Adam gave a blank stair, his hands at his side. He didnt know what to do. He just shot a kid. A KID, he deserved to die, by anyones hands even if it was this, "Speed freak"
Weekling! Do not think so little of yourself, killing is the first step to survival, eat or be eaten, kill or be killed, survival, is all you will need and all you should learn. I pity your race, so intent on intellect and profit, we don't need money, we don't need movies, video games, or books, we live off the land and the land provides for us. That is how all races should be.
Adam couldn't possible understand what this was, what it was saying. He couldn't do what it was asking of him, or what it was telling him he would do.
FINE, if you won't do it, we shall force feed you the know how to live until you can do it on your own.
Grime emerged from the side of Adam's head, fully encaseing half his face in a black tar like sludge, dabbles of red here and there began to move and live like a living creature. A toothy grin emerged from the face as it began to engulf the head, and move slowly down the body.
"Keeeeevin...." the man, or creature rasped weekly as the liquid reached down its right arm to form a claw.

Kevin's anger sky rocketed. "Of COURSE!" He bellowed at what used to be a man. "You left him! You could have kept him alive- I saw what you could do- and you LEFT him! To die!" He became a blur, a high frequency fluttering filling the air as the boy began to vibrate the very fiber of his being. "Im going to make you scream for mercy!" Kevin yelled, his voice resonating amongst the noise...

The creature screeched, grasping onto its head with both arms, though one was still human, it was soon engulfed by the liquid.
ACT NOW FRIEND!
The voice echoed in his head. Adam was forced on all fours, he looked up weekly at the blur of a teenager in front of him, the sound was deafening, it stuck deep inside him, like it was tearing him to pieces. Adam crawled forward, on his knees, as if pushing against a great wind trying not to be blown away. He struggled to push himself to his feet, his arms bent back, hands tense as if about to strike, a single tentacle rived from pain as it emerged from the palm of his hand, it thickened and grew bigger, using all the strength the symbiote had, he lashed furiously at the teenager the tentacle took out his feet knocking the kid on his ***. Adam took a moment to recover. Breathing for a bit, as the tentacle slowly gripped onto Speed Freaks ankle and began to drag him down the ally toward him.

The boy stopped moving from the hit, landing with a grunt. He had experiance fighting these aliens though, regretfully, mostly by fighting Jake. The boys leg became barly visable, the tentacle holding a blurry blue and white, the friction building up fast and burning the tentacle, making Adam drop him. Kevin twisted himself forwards as he fell, landing in a crouch and the kicking forward, launching into Adam's stomach, slamming a punch into his chest as he slammed into the black and red monster, blowing him off his feet...

Adam was sent abck by the blow, manuvering in the air and landing on his hands, soon met by his feet, he was on all fours, now fully engullfed by the liquid, a devilish toothy smile on his face. He opened his horrifieing jaws and let a tounge slither out, it manuvered through the air as if surveying the surrowndings.
We will show you friend, we will give you a first hand look, at what it takes to adapt, to SURVIVE.
the creature's moves were quick and precise, it jumped to the wall then quickly lept off, pushing off with great force. with one arm reaching forward he grabbed Kevin's face, sending both of them into a single roll, the creature ended it by slamming Kevin into the ground with brute force, it stood, still holding Kevin by his face, it slammed Kevin into the nearest ally wall before winding him back and throwing him back over towards the dumpster near Jake's dead body.
"KEVIN!!!" The creature screamed, takeing a step forward. "C-C-C-CEEEEEEAAAAASSSEEEEE...."
