For safety's sake, it's probably better to put the Orca down. If it's killed three people, it could kill again.

But then what gives the human's life any more value than the animals?

It was THEIR fault, but they still put it down.

It was not put down. It was shot by police. put down implies that it was destroyed after the incident to prevent it happening again. in actuality, the police killed to stop the incident itself.

Nothing. I'm a firm believer that an animal's life is just as valuable as a person's (With the exception of bugs, because they live for like 5 days anyway). But, if you have a murderer in front of you, do you think he/she should be set free because they have a life too? That they are equal to anyone else? Same applies here.

There are killer whales that have performed in shows from birth to death, and haven't harmed anymore. If one kills 3 people, its a behavior it intends to repeat as much as it can.

The whale is still alive I think. I think it should be set free because it didnt do anything wrong. You might be thinking " But it killed three people LV". What do you expect from a huge predatory animal. People think that these animals should be killed if they attack someone when in truth they were just doing what nature intended it to do.

That may be true if you were talking about a tiger or a lion. In zoos, they are generally treated very respectfully and carefully. People rarely have any actual contact with them, and attacks are rare. Orcas and dolphins have been in shows for quiet some time. They are not violent animals in captivity.

Animals who kill humans tend to behave differently then others of their kind.

I see where you guys are coming from, but still, like TT said, man-killers generally are NOT acting like their wild bretheren. Most animals don't naturally KILL people, unlike lions and crocs, which actually naturally will hunt people. But yeah, I say it should get put down.

@ Doc: They shot it? Wow. I guess I forgot about that... I thought they put it down.

Lol. My friend loves Elfen Lied...tries to get me to watch it. After the first episode I get bored, though.
